Immediately her gun came up and she aimed at his chest, flicking the safety off. Her hands shook slightly as she answered, pressed as far back against the bed as she could be, “Don’t take another step towards me. I’m not with anyone, he’s just traveling with me for now. I know the aliens messed with all of your brains and whatever he’s done is in the past and over with.”
Vince chuckled. "I see. It's all in the past, is it?" He shook his head. "That's not how it works, you know. He's going to kill you someday." He headed back towards the door. "Have fun."
Jay was silent.
“I’m aware that he could kill me at any time. All I can do is hope it’s not soon.” She didn’t lower her gun even as he walked back to the door, though she did flick the safety on. Exhaling a shakey breath, she looked to Jay, curious as to what Vince was talking about but not wanting to be pushy.
Vince left.
Jay exhaled softly, closing and locking the door as best he could.
“That…was almost as terrifying as being chased by a gang,” She mumbled, setting her gun into her lap and visibly relaxing. Her eyes closed and she just focused on calming down, softly asking, “What was that all about? The whole final exam thing?”
Jay stiffened, not looking at her. "It's…not important." He replied softly. "Really." He shifted.
Delia sighed, shaking her head and feeling a lot more calm than she had felt before, “Then I at least want to know why he came here. Did he know we were here? I hope you didn’t tell him.”
"I don't know. I didn't tell him, but i don't know why he's here." Jay replied softly.
“Let’s just hope he leaves soon, and isn’t a sniper or something trying to kill me,” She said just as softly, scooting back over to the monopoly game and picking up her piece. She didn’t do anything with it, just turned it in her hands and was silent.
Jay snorted. "Vince is no sniper. He's up close and personal with his kills." He replied, going over and sitting down across from her. -final test- -mom. No no no no no please please anyone but them no- -oh my God oh my God I… He flinched slightly, trying to push away the snatches of memory.

Delia pressed her eyes shut and sighed, “This is gonna be a sleepless night then.” Gently, she set her piece back on the board and looked at him, “You wanna start?” She pushed her gun off of her lap and pointed it away from anyone before looking at Jay. Oblivious to the fact that he was remembering something.
Jay nodded, and rolles the dice and moved his piece, gaze unfocused. His movements were rather robotic.
“Connecticut avenue, wanna buy it?” She asked, looking to the space he landed on. After his turn had finished, she rolled, her eyes flicking around every so often and she was quite distracted.
He bought the avenue and grabbed the card, setting it down. His fingers tapped a quick rhythm on his leg, biting his lower lip.
She sighed after a few turns, shaking her head. She couldn’t focus, too worried and worked up over Vince’s visit. “Everything was going so well today, and then he shows up,” She muttered softly, passing the dice to Jay and looking around for where Leo was.
Leo was over in the corner, gnawing on his paw. Jay nodded. "I know. I'm sorry." He said softly.
“It’s not your fault,” She said with a shake of her head, looking over at Leo and not up at him. Delia was curious about what happened in the ship that made Jay so nervous when Vince asked, though she wasn’t going to ask anything without having a reason to need the information.
He shrugged. "I know. Still…" He trailed off, sighing softly. Leo kept biting at his paws, completely focused and not paying any attention to them.
“Leo, you’re gonna hurt your paw again, stop.” She looked at the puppy and hoped he didn’t ruin the bandages, otherwise they would have to rewrap his paw again. Shaking her head, she turned back to the game quietly, “So, wanna head back out on the road tomorrow?”
Leo looked up at her, wagging his tail. Jay shrugged. "Probably a good idea." He replied. "Sorry. I don't feel comfortable staying here with Vince in the area."
Delia shook her head, “I don’t feel comfortable with him around either, but I want to stay here one last night and sleep on an actual bed.” She knew there would be no chance that she would fall asleep at all, but even just relaxing and trying to sleep would be enough. With a glance up at him, she asked her next question, “So, do we keep heading West? Or go back East…towards the only way to even attempt to save Earth.”
Jay nodded, then shrugged. "I…I don't know. I already told you that what you want to do is a suicide mission, but…I can't stop you if you want to do it that badly."
She sighed, putting her head in her hands and really thinking it over. If they went west and she changed her mind, she could attempt to get kidnapped by one of the drones and get back, but there was no guarantee she would survive. East meant more aliens, more drones, and essentially more risk, especially with a broken leg that wasn’t healed. “West,” She said softly, shaking her head, “I might be kicking myself in my mind in a few days for this, but we’ll continue west for now.”
