Leo whined, looking up at them with big puppy eyes. Jay sighed softly, and ignored the little puppy as he danced, closing his eyes. Leo flopped down, head on his paws as he watched them mournfully.

Delia looked at the puppy and sighed, shaking her head and making herself ignore his puppy eyes so she could dance. Softly, she sang again, eyes flicking up and looking at Jay for a moment while she could. She had figured out the rhythm to dance with a crutch by now, and she considered herself an expert. Even if she wasn’t a very good dancer otherwise.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He kept his eyes closed, dancing with her contentedly. Can it just… stay like this? He wondered wistfully. No aliens, no danger. No wondering how to survive another day. Just… living.

@gracehustle

Her eyes flicked closed after a moment and she smiled, pulling herself a touch closer to him. He was comforting, or, more specifically, it was comforting to be able to dance with someone she liked. It made the world feel like she was just a young adult figuring out life and not a survivor fighting for that same life.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay shifted slightly so he was simply holding her, swaying and moving slightly with the music still. He still had his eyes closed. Why are they even here? The aliens. It doesn't make sense. We've never done anything to them, and they're exterminating us. Using us to kill each other.

@gracehustle

Delia adapted to him holding her instead of dancing, gently dropping her other crutch to the ground since she didn’t need it as much. She just held onto him for balance instead, keeping her injured leg off the ground an inch or so and letting herself almost relax a little against him.

@ElderGod-Icefire

His eyes flickered open for a moment, then closed again. He sighed softly, still humming along quietly. Leo whined softly, tail thumping on the floor.

@gracehustle

The song came to an end and when she next one played it was an old song, one that was easy to just sway to as well as dance. Delia smiled, not knowing the lyrics to this one but still enjoying it nonetheless. She wouldn’t say anything, but she was enjoying his company, and being able to do normal things like dance and sing and try on clothes.

@gracehustle

Her eyes stayed closed and she swayed with Jay to the song. For a minute, she let her mind drift to the worries outside of this building and she made herself come back to the moment, refusing to worry herself about anything besides the fact that she may have hit Jay’s foot with her crutch.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He opened his eyes again, looking down at her for a moment, then looked out the window. He wished they could just stay like this forever. Not worrying about him snapping, not worrying about the next meal. Just…living.

@gracehustle

Delia sighed softly, feeling somewhat sleepy even though it was nowhere near night or even sunset. She figured it had something to do with the comfort and quietness of dancing with him, she usually never got to relax this much and her body wanted to use that relaxation to sleep as much as possible. That wasn’t going to happen though, she wouldn’t allow it.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"What do you want to do next?" He asked softly, still swaying with her to the music, his pale hair hanging over his forehead. "We still have a good half of the day left, at least."

@gracehustle

“I don’t really know, anything that doesn’t require me to run or lift heavy objects,” She replied, glancing up at him with a small smile, “The more lazy the activity, the more alright I’ll be with it.”

@gracehustle

Delia smiled, cautiously resting her head against his chest as they swayed. She would move it if he wanted her to, but she couldn’t help just trying. The song was nearing an end, she could tell, and she hoped it was either a good song she could sing along with, or one she didn’t have to move from where she was.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay's heartbeat was strong and steady, and he just held her gently. The next song was one he knew, and he started to sing softly, resting his chin on her head slightly.

@gracehustle

Her eyes closed and Delia hummed along as well, his heartbeat comforting and steady. A hint of a smile tugged at her lips and she imagined how weird this scene looked. Two young adults, dressed like they were going to a dance, swaying and singing along to a song played on an old CD player in the middle of an alien threat to Earth. It may have looked weird, but she was having one of the best moments of her life.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay gave a small smile as he sang. God, we probably look so strange. Then again, I don't think there's anyone here to see us. Not that it matters either way. He kept his eyes closed. He didn't know how much longer she was going to want to stay like this, but he knew he didn't want this to stop.

@gracehustle

She hummed along until the song ended, waiting for the next song to play and realizing the CD had gone through all the songs. Gently, she took a step away from him, keeping her hand on his shoulder for balance so she didn’t tip over.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He held still, gently reaching out and helping her balance. Leo was asleep, sprawled on his side and snoring softly. Jay was quiet, watching Delia.

@gracehustle

“Well, what should we do now?” She asked, turning off the CD player, “Unless you want to dance some more.” With a glance at him, she offered a small smile in thanks for letting her hold onto him for support.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He shrugged slightly. "It's up to you, i dont mind either way." He replied with a small smile. Thank you for letting me forget what i am and what I've done and what I will do. If only just for a bit.

@gracehustle

“We can go do something else, I’ll probably have to go change out of my dress first though.” She glanced down at the dress and again smiled softly, “It was fun wearing it while I could.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded. "Alright. And i should change out of the suit." He gave a small smile, slowly letting go of her, but keeping his hand hovering nearby in case she needed his support still.
