@Elder-God-Whisper work

Though, does anyone have an explanation of why I feel more motivated to do spells in the twilight, early morning, and night rather than during broad daylight? I’m extremely confused.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

So, I've recently found out my father most likely used to be into witchcraft/paganism, so… that plus having family members who are currently so means my dad would identify anything I do in a heart beat. He's already wary of me exploring religions and has made it clear he only wants Chirstianity practiced in his household. So, yeah, this is fun. I can't do anything at all ;-;

@Elder-God-Whisper work

Oh that sucks…. So there’s nothing you can do under the radar? Are you into sigils? You can draw them on yourself under your clothes where the skin will never show, like thighs, if you wear bras, over your heart…. uh…. now trying to think of other things you can do. you can always just mentally chant things and focus on things you want to draw or banish for spells, along with stirring drinks clockwise to draw good things to yourself that you visualize, or stirring counterclockwise to banish negative things from your life…. charm normal jewelry with intention if you normally wear jewelry and just call it a “lucky charm”.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Yeah… I can't really do anything on my body for reasons, unfortunately. I'm doing my best to bring different aspects like that into my life, but my brain likes to tell me to fck off whenever I try to do any focused thinking. I can work the stirring the drinks in, thanks! And I don't really wear jewelry much, but my parents have been pushing for me to wear the ones I have, so I could definitely look into that.

@Elder-God-Whisper work

There’s a spell where you paste all of the things you want to draw to yourself into a collage, so that’s something you can pass off as a personal art project. Also, adding spices to your food or drinks that correspond to your intentions can be passed off as “I want more flavor” and “it tastes good” and “a friend suggested I try it”. Do you wear makeup at all by chance?

InTheBroomCloset

I've been accidentally enchanting/making intentions for jewelry forever. Now I love doing it on purpose. One of my favorite under the radar witchy things 👌

I have a maximum stupid level question.
So say I'm making sacrifices to any particular God. Say I wanna give Aphrodite an apple. So I leave an apple on her altar. And then it rots.. how do I dispose of it? Same with like olive oil or other liquid offerings. How long would you keep them there? Or money. I guess I would leave the money there and then donate it to whatever charity that God would like best, right? I just, hOw dOes iT woRK?

@croccin-champagne

i feel like burning the food things is a good idea. also, you don't even have to leave them there till they rot, a day or so is usually long enough.

donations seem like a really good idea there, yeah ! or at least, adding the money to a fund to donate later, or leaving it somewhere someone else can find it. like a penny heads up so someone gets a bit of luck.

as for liquids…again, i think just a day or so works, maybe a bit longer if you want to be sure? and then use them in cooking, if they were stored in a container on the altar that allows for it. i'm honestly not sure for a lot of liquid disposals.

also fun tip, make your offerings while camping, especially to forest deities, because no one is gonna care if you toss a bit of a hotdog or a marshmallow that burnt too much into the fire

InTheBroomCloset

Thank you! Those ideas make good sense. I'm very much not used to bringing in the physical world to the spiritual, it's seen as demonic in my family. But that's kinda what I like about paganism, everything is interconnected.

Hm, @Xanny any enchantments you want on jewelry I'm gonna send you?
I generally put good luck charms on Everything I make, just cause that's what I tend to work with, but

@actual-fandom-trash

Okay I've been exploring for a few months, mostly just small stuff like sigils and protection and cleansing and like doing things with intentions, and I'm wondering, if I were to like,,
put good intentions into an object after cleansing and charging it and stuff (I guess like an enchantment), and then I gave it to someone, would that be a bad thing? Or should I just leave the object alone and not do that
I was just wondering lol it might be kinda a dumb question

I have a question for those who veil? I was wondering if I have to be a woman to do it and if it was soley for certain gods, like I work with Aphrodite and want to veil.

@berlioz

It shows respect, represent protection, and provides comfort across all religions and all genders. You do not have to be a woman to veil. It's your choice.

Deleted user

Alright, another question about doing it… how? like, does anyone have any toturials?

Deleted user

I have some scarves and a few bandannas, i Also hae fabrics i can make stuff with

@berlioz

So bandanas are pretty easy and casual to start with (if you plan on veiling in public). Just put it in a triangle and tie it in the back, we all know that one. Here are some examples of veiling from a Jewish woman. These are the most common veiling techniques, and they're pretty simple.

Hijab style wraps might be easier, so here's some examples of those. She uses pins, but for most of the styles you don't actually need pins, just wrap it tight in place.

And here's a more masculine style

There are pagan specific tutorials, but they're all basically the same thing

@berlioz

Also beanies, caps, and yarmulka style head coverings all count as veiling. There are people going around saying they don't, but they do.

Anything! Luck and protection would be extra appreciated.

I think it depends on your intentions, particular practice/craft, and your purpose for doing so.
For me personally (from the research I've done and also just personal opinion), things like hats aren't veils.
But it TOTALLY depends on what you believe and what works for you.

gUUUUYS after way too much time spent researching, I found that a sacred holy well of wisdom is STILL IN CARBURY, IRELAND LIKE IT'S IN THE STORIES AND IT'S STILL THERE of course, the Catholic's stole it and renamed it the Trinity well, when it's real name is Tobar Segais but anyway. Now I really wanna visit it. It's apart of the most popular myths. I'm happy it's, ya know, still in existence. Look at it.
~The story goes~ that this well is guarded by what I consider a royal family of sorts, Nechtan is the God, Beag is the Goddess (and I assume his wife) and the three cupbearer goddesses Flesc, Lam, and Luam are their daughters. Beag and Nechtan are considered the deities and bearers of wisdom, knowledge, and education. They also share the title of water deity with a few other Irish gods and goddesses. Nine hazelnut trees surround the well, and their nuts fall to feed the sacred one-eye salmons who live in the waters. All of these elements hold knowledge, prophecy, and wisdom in them. The Well of Wisdom is highly protected by this family, so it's said only those who are in right standing can reap it's benefits. To gain wisdom or foresight, one can drink from it and ask their question or request wisdom. To be ritually pure or cure oneself of something, one must perform a "round", by walking clockwise around the well. It's taboo to take the water home for domestic purposes.

Ok upon further research, it's not accessible to the public but STILL I'm unreasonably that happy it was preserved.
