Well, ever since midnight struck over here I’ve been feeling very strange. It’s now 1:24am, I’m shrouding my mirror, the crystals are cleansed an d ready for use— and all I need now is to sleep so I’m ready for whatever the day brings. I’m spending Samhain with my best friend and his family, so it will be interesting to see how well things go!
Fun facts about Samhain
Samhain (Sow-in) comes from ancient Ireland, and is the first day of the Celtic new year. It marks the beginning of the darker half of the year, where the spring/summer goddess Brigid goes away (she'll come back on Imbolg) and the Cailleach, the winter queen and witch, is at her most powerful. Everything should be harvested by now, anything harvested after Samhain is said to bring rot. Samhain begins on October 31, when the sun sets, and lasts through November 1st until the sun sets again. To celebrate, the Celts lit a communal bonfire. No other fire or light could be lit except this one, then at the end of the festivities, which included drinking, eating, and games, each household took a torch of flame from the big bonfire and used it to light their hearths at home. This symbolizes unity and community. They also made sacrifices to the Sidhe and their gods, since this world and the Otherworld were at their closest and the Sidhe might come mess with you. That's how the first Halloween costumes came to be, the Irish would dress up as scary fae to blend in with the fairies so they wouldn't be messed with. It's also a time when pucaí and the bean sidhe would be most noticeable. If you used a weapon or committed any crime on this holy day, the punishment was death.
Overall, Samhain is a time where this world and the Otherworld came together, and a time about community and fun and also hiding from the sidhe sometimes lol

But in other stories she pops up as all ages any time of the year. Idk but she's also known as the veiled one, so she's always rocking a dope ass cloak.

I know what Samhain was from and what the traditions and beliefs are, but I really haven’t felt anything in this house at all since I moved here 6-7 years ago, and I’m pretty sure there’s good basis for that. Now, when I move to my own place, hell yeah I’m shrouding my mirror and stuff because one) I won’t have my parents questioning my and me being scared of being hit and mentally abused for it and two) I won’t have the same protections as this house does.
