It shows respect, represent protection, and provides comfort across all religions and all genders. You do not have to be a woman to veil. It's your choice.

Alright, another question about doing it… how? like, does anyone have any toturials?
I love veiling, but how to wrap depends on what type of veil you have. Is it a bandana? A scarf?
I have some scarves and a few bandannas, i Also hae fabrics i can make stuff with
So bandanas are pretty easy and casual to start with (if you plan on veiling in public). Just put it in a triangle and tie it in the back, we all know that one. Here are some examples of veiling from a Jewish woman. These are the most common veiling techniques, and they're pretty simple.
Hijab style wraps might be easier, so here's some examples of those. She uses pins, but for most of the styles you don't actually need pins, just wrap it tight in place.
And here's a more masculine style
There are pagan specific tutorials, but they're all basically the same thing
Also beanies, caps, and yarmulka style head coverings all count as veiling. There are people going around saying they don't, but they do.
Hm, @Xanny any enchantments you want on jewelry I'm gonna send you?
I generally put good luck charms on Everything I make, just cause that's what I tend to work with, but
Anything! Luck and protection would be extra appreciated.

I think it depends on your intentions, particular practice/craft, and your purpose for doing so.
For me personally (from the research I've done and also just personal opinion), things like hats aren't veils.
But it TOTALLY depends on what you believe and what works for you.
gUUUUYS after way too much time spent researching, I found that a sacred holy well of wisdom is STILL IN CARBURY, IRELAND LIKE IT'S IN THE STORIES AND IT'S STILL THERE of course, the Catholic's stole it and renamed it the Trinity well, when it's real name is Tobar Segais but anyway. Now I really wanna visit it. It's apart of the most popular myths. I'm happy it's, ya know, still in existence. Look at it.
~The story goes~ that this well is guarded by what I consider a royal family of sorts, Nechtan is the God, Beag is the Goddess (and I assume his wife) and the three cupbearer goddesses Flesc, Lam, and Luam are their daughters. Beag and Nechtan are considered the deities and bearers of wisdom, knowledge, and education. They also share the title of water deity with a few other Irish gods and goddesses. Nine hazelnut trees surround the well, and their nuts fall to feed the sacred one-eye salmons who live in the waters. All of these elements hold knowledge, prophecy, and wisdom in them. The Well of Wisdom is highly protected by this family, so it's said only those who are in right standing can reap it's benefits. To gain wisdom or foresight, one can drink from it and ask their question or request wisdom. To be ritually pure or cure oneself of something, one must perform a "round", by walking clockwise around the well. It's taboo to take the water home for domestic purposes.
Ok upon further research, it's not accessible to the public but STILL I'm unreasonably that happy it was preserved.
Oh wow, I heard of the well but only under it’s christianized version. It’s nice to hear the real story of it.
Wow I had fun reading back through all this— I’m glad to hear everyone’s opinions on certain matters, especially those involving other religions and their views on paganism/witchcraft. I think I need to start getting back in touch with you guys, y’all are a pure vibe to be around.
Honestly, this is my favorite board to interact with and read through. The recent stuff anyways. Everyone is just so nice and helpful. And it’s really cool to hear all the different takes on their practices! It’s made me feel safe and much more relaxed to be able to openly discuss this kind of stuff with people who listen, share their own thoughts, and don’t bash you in the face for not knowing something or asking a question that might seem to have an obvious answer in their eyes.
I made myself an Ogham set :D
And I'm so in love with itttt :DDDD
Something about it makes my heart happy.
It's fun right now bc it's like in the "getting to know you" phase. I don't know much about tarot, but I know Ogham is a little more of a fluid divination method. Each few (like, individual card/letter) has it's own standard associations, but each deck is personal to each person. Right now I'm going with the standard associations and working with it to see if it deviates in any way. I've gotten very accurate readings so far. I asked it to do a reading on my dog just for practice. While I thought he was asleep he came running, so I let him draw his own few. Perfectly accurate. This is fun.
I keep wanting to try tarot, but I am trying to find what all the cards are and what they mean so I can make my own cards rather than buying a set that all sorts of other people have touched and I can’t afford it anyway
all of my sets(two/three tarot, two medicine card) are passed down, the tarot from my great grandma's partner and the medicine cards from my mom. which i honestly think fits better than making or buying, because a lot of my worship and practice centers around matrilineal relationships, my relationships with women in my family, and feminine deities. definitely want to cleanse the tarot first though, that woman was not exactly the most pleasant energy source
The Biddy tarot is great for beginners. Comes with a little book that explains all the meanings of the cards and gives you tips for readings.
Um, I’m broke… That’s most of the reason why I need to make my own set..
It's also one of the cheapest deck out there. At least, one of the cheapest I've come across.
Yeah, making your own is an option for sure.
I’m just trying to find out what cards are in a complete Tarot deck and their meanings so I can make my own…
Ok so I found an app for tarot that has a list of every major and minor arcana in a tarot deck, and I’m realizing I have a long job of designing and drawing ahead of me….
if any of you are following maggie stiefvater(author of the raven cycle) on insta, she just did a bunch of home made tarot cards and posted pictures as well as a description of what they mean and how they're applicable to the real world! so like, that could help!
Huh… they’re very interesting! Thanks for mentioning her.
Well, I’ll be damned… I used a digital version of a tarot deck (not the best choice, I know, but I’, stuck at the moment) and the spread I chose to use to analyze a question I was making myself attempt to answer was really really damn accurate, like scary accurate, and now I need to try and figure out what the heck the last card really means. Also, has anyone here done the Celtic Cross spread and can tell me what sort of question that’s used for, and how it’s supposed to be interpreted?
