oo another question- how do I cleanse my room or my workspace if I don't have candles or quartz or anything like that? I can't burn anything in the house, but my room just feels i c k. I want it to be a calm, clean atmosphere for me to do my rituals and homework and like, sleep, but right now it feels crowded and negative. what are some tools that could help with that? I have moon water and whatever I can find outside.
I've found in a pinch you can take a rock from outside that attracts your attention and charge it with the energy you need, and use that to help you cleanse/repel negative energy (to help with the latter, maybe keep it by/on a window sill)
Ay that's a good idea. There are some white rocks in my front yard I used to play with and line up when I was little because I thought they were special/holy. Maybe I'll use some of those.
white is a purifying color, so thats kind of perfect! also, simply opening your windows for a few hours and letting in natural light and fresh air does wonders. consider getting one of those desk top fountains at some point, too, because the water helps!
as for diana, it is lmao. generally, it's mostly been a line of practice that involves me coming into realizing who i am, and my own strengths and weaknesses. she helped me realize i needed to get out of my most recent relationship, and working with her is definitely boosting the self love and independence i had been struggling with. there's a lot of moonwork too, which i am not at all upset about because i love any excuse to go stare at the moon lmao
I can’t wait to have my own place so I can start practicing my hedge witchcraft more. It frustrates me to no end that I can’t even though it’s a very non-invasive practice.
what kind of things will you be able to do once you have that space? i'm not entirely sure on what hedge witches practice so i'm interested in learning!
We mostly work our craft into domestic things like making food and baking, actually cleaning is often our cleansing, I would like to burn candles that have sigil carved into it, gardening and caring for plants is something that runs between green and hedge witchcraft, maybe collect rainwater, but I definitely would probably base my own craft in making food and drinks, and caring for my home and other people. I tend to take a few pieces from other paths though, so some people could argue I’m eclectic.
That sounds like a really hospitable path.
It is! Hedge witches are like those awfully nice neighbors who come over to give you some homemade soup and a get well card when they hear you’re sick with the flu and invite you over for a cup of tea or coffee with cake on the regular. Lol
I aim for that sort of reputation.
My dog seems to be hyper attentive whenever I do magic.
That would make sense. Animals seem to be more in tune with things that don’t physically exist, but exist anyhow.
so ig im stealing bits of hedge witchcraft lmao
im the neighbor who brings baked goods over constantly, and cleaning is my favorite mode of cleansing because it's just so simple, and it makes sense
Yay, some more witches who do domestic magick!
I have another question mostly for pagans. It might be tricky or just stupid lol. In a lot of pantheons, Gods and Goddesses die. How do we worship them if they're dead? Are they still alive somehow, and just their physical bodies, if they had one, are dead? Do they still have power on the Earth?
okay i'm not too well versed here but
a lot of things still have power on earth, and this plane, without having to be alive. are gods even technically alive? aren't they sort of on another level there?
everything has an energy and spirit, so there's always some part that stays in existence even past the mortal body's expiration date. often with things like plants or animals(in my beliefs, not universal) that energy will move on to something new(reincarnation) or kind of just join the earth. if a god were to die, maybe you'd find their energy in whatever it was they were tied to? helios in the sun, selene in the moon, kind of like that. ra in the movement of the sun across the sky, etc
oHHhkay that actually helps. Maybe my concept of death doesn't totally apply to gods, because like you said
are gods even technically alive?
Thanks again! You guys are so helpful.
no prob babe! and if any baby witches or people simply interested in learning have questions they're afraid to ask here, feel free to pm me! i'll answer the best i can
Aw there went my cover lol
Eh
Your cover…? [is instantly intrigued]
Hey I know not many people (if any, I might be the only one…) practice hedge witchcraft, but does anyone have any food spells they do or jar spells they made?
(Probably not, but I’m asking anyway)
Your cover…? [is instantly intrigued]
Ye I used my school email to make a new account just in case my parents found my regular notebook with my personal email. Cuz like. Witchcraft nono.
I'll probably still use InTheBroomCloset just for extra measures, but Owen=InTheBroomCloset and InTheBroomCloset=Owen
See you on the alt account
ffhgfdg i guessed so, when you responded instead. your secret is safe with me lmao
