"Alright well…you did great today Meghan." he told her as he locked up the front door "You can go home now." he gave her a little smile, but was still clearly bothered by what he had seen
She smiled back just as softly, trying to be reassuring. ”Ok. I’ll see you tomorrow. You take care of yourself, Theo.” she said, placing a hand on his shoulder before heading to her car.
Theo started his walk back home, going through the many shortcuts he had found out he could use long ago. He could tell though that he wasn't alone he went on his way so he decided to take a detour instead to attempt to throw whoever he smelled off.
Meg had gotten to her car but hesitated on driving home right away. She glanced up at where Theo had been and considered going after him, maybe offer him a ride to his place. She didn't see where he headed but without a car, he probably lived close by. Besides, he had seemed really upset by the exchange they had seen. Making up her mind she drove in the opposite direction of her place and kept an eye out for Theo.
Theo was out walking on the empty but well lit sidewalk now, the person that had been following him didn't seem to care about that and started to follow him in the street now, the person was breathing heavily
Meg frowned a bit when she saw Theo was being followed but just stopping right now would probably scare the stalker away then they wouldn't get any answers. So, a bit reluctantly, she drove past them and casually turned at the corner at the end of the block. She parked about halfway down the block and got out, quickly buttoning up her coat as she did. Even heading towards them it would take a little bit before they met up.
Finally Theo turned and woged "Can you just go-…" the words died in his throat as the stalkedr was running at him at this point, fully woged as well , it seemed to the the suppler of the transaction didn't like his business interrupted. Theo turned and ran as well, knowing what the red powder around the nose area meant.
Meg quickened her pace when she heard Theo try to get rid of his stalker and slid on the brass knuckles she had in her pocket. It was a bit of a riskier weapon choice but it was a little less suspicious. As she turned the corner she immediately set her sights on the other Fuchsbau and ran towards him.
The other wesen grabbed Theo by the wrist and pulled him close, striking him across the face, causing Theo to woge out of the shock of the strike "You know what happens to people who get in my business?" he asked.
Theo responded by stomping the other's foot, making the now attacker let him go. The drugged wesen caught a glance at Meg and there was no fear in his eyes…only a primal rage.
Meg met his gaze unafraid as she raced towards him. As soon as Theo was clear she swung her brass-knuckled fist at the attacker's nose. ”You don't know when to quit, do ya!” she snarled at him.
He growled out and tired to grab at her throat "It's not your concern Grimm!" he told her as he steadied his footing
“It does when you attack my boss!” she growled back as she dodged the grab and slugged him in the stomach.
He grunted a bit and grabbed at her, his hand at her face, clawing at it. Theo was seen swinging a think novel he had tucked away in the knapsack he carried around with him. "Get off her!" he exclaimed as the high wesen was knocked in the side of the head by the thick hardcover book.
Meg grunted at the clawing and quickly shoved him back as Theo hit him. She winced at the three bloody scratches on her face, punching him in the face again.
It seemed the angry wesen wasn't willing to attack them anymore as he just lay groaning on the ground after he flopped flat on his back from the face and head strikes. Theo put his book away, his eyes widening as he looked to Meg's face "Meghan are you alright?" he asked, wiping the blood with his sleeve, not caring if it stained.
Meg flinched at the fabric touching her wound. It wasn't really deep but it stung like hell. ”I’m fine. Not my first time being scratched.” she hissed a little from the pain. ”Nice hit, by the way. You alright?” she asked as she checked him for any injuries.
He woged back to normal and there was just a nasty bruise on the right side of his face "Thanks but I'm fine. THat looks like it really stings…my place is…" he looked down at the wesen who was out cold at this point but still didn't say exactly where he lived so close to him. "…It's close by. I can clean that up real quick."
”Yeah. You look like you could use some ice too.” she gestured to his bruise. ”That’s actually why I'm here. I had a feeling something was gonna happen so I was looking for you to offer you a ride.” she explained, pulling out a small note pad. She wrote a quick note and signed it with a bit of a flourish before slipping it into the unconscious Wesen’s hand.
"Alright that sounds good…man he didn't even seem to flinch when looking into your eyes…" Theo told her as he followed her to her car "Liver is one hell of a drug."
Meg smirked a little with the unhurt side of her face. ”Yeah. It's been a while since anyone did that. Granted, he was pretty ticked off cause of the drug so, doesn't count.” she said, a soft sigh following her words.
Theo followed her the rest the way and got into the passenger seat. He told her the apartment building he lived in and buckled in "Well I suppose you're right." he grinned a bit, even if the side of his face ached when he did
Meg gave him a half-smile as she turned on her car and turned down the radio. ”Ya know something? You're the only Wesen who has ever kept smiling at me even after you found out what I am.” she commented as she started driving to his apartment.
"Well you're not a bad person…you're only doing this stuff to help people…you're not like the stories I've been told." he shrugged a bit "I mean you just came back and helped me escape a brawl with a drugged wesen…you're in fact…a really good person."
She didn't take her eyes off the road as he spoke but she was touched by his words on how he saw her. He wasn't wrong either. She did try to help people, even if it was a thankless task since everyone else ran away from her. But she couldn't believe that every Wesen was a threat… It didn't make sense. Were her ancestors that prejudice?
”Thanks, Theo.” she said softly.
"No problem." he told her, looking over to her, looking into those dark pools that were Meg's eyes. While it was strange to see his true self in her eyes he didn't woge this time, for as crazy as it sounded…he felt safe when around her.
This time, she did glance over and caught him looking at her. As she pulled up to red light she turned to face him. ”What are you staring at?” she asked curiously.
"Your eyes…to us a Grimm's eyes are like the darker than the night sky…but I'm not uncomfortable seeing myself in them anymore." Theo explained
Meg blinked at this information. She knew there was something about her eyes that Wesen reacted to but whatever it was had never been written down in any of her dad's books. ”I… I didn't know that. You can see your reflection in them?” she said in wonder.
"We see what we really are. I see a fuchsbau staring back at…I see me. That's why wesen react because they see themselves in the dark pools of your eyes." Theo informed her
Meg nodded in acknowledgment and turned back to the road as the light turned green. ”Gonna add that to my journal. Thanks for telling me.” she said, figuring no one else knew about that because no other Grimm had ever actually just talked with a Wesen. ”Are my eyes like that all the time for you?”
