”I’ll see you soon, Theo. Stay safe till I get there.” she said only half-joking. She really did want him to stay safe but she trusted him. She locked the cabin and started driving towards his apartment.
He sent that time texting his brothers, laughing a bit at some of the antics his younger brother had gotten into back at home
It took a little longer for her to get to Theo’s place than it did for her to get to the bookstore but she smiled as she saw the building getting closer. She pulled up to the curb and rolled down the passenger window. ”Hey, you! Going my way?” she smirked.
"I happen to be going that way my friendly neighborhood Grimm." he chuckled as he went over to her car and got in the passenger side
Meg laughed a little and waited for him to shut the door and buckle up before driving around the block, heading back to her cabin. ”It’s good to see you again, Theo.” she smiled.
Theo smiled right back and nodded "Great to see you again too Meg. Always happy to see ya." Theo told her as he looked from her and then out the window "Pretty cool I'm gonna be the first wesen to see your cabin." he grinned just a bit
Meg nodded briefly. ”Yeah, it is.” she agreed. ”Honestly, I’ve kinda been wanting to show it off for a while, but… I could never trust anyone with this stuff and I know it has to stay secret.” she almost rambled.
"And my lips are sealed Meg…it's just between you and I."he assured her, a soft smile on his lips as he was touched that Meg trusted him enough for her to be doing this.
”Thank you, Theo.” Meg smiled at his promise. She had hoped that he wouldn't tell anyone, even if he said he had no one to tell. ”So, fair warning; some of the books aren't in English. Can you read any other languages?” she asked.
"Latin a good bit in my spare time. I thought it would be a cool thing to know but just shows i'm a huge geek." he laughed a bit at himself "Other than that…no"
She chuckled and shook her head. ”I think it's actually a cool language. I only know a little myself but I had to try and learn a lot of languages cause of those books.” she admitted.
"Well thanks." he smiled, chuckling a little "I would expect you'd have to learn a lot if your dad had different Grimm's books." Theo found this fascinating at all the information Meg had about Wesen and Grimms. She admittedly was more well equipped with knowledge than he initially thought she was.
Meg shrugged a little. ”I don't really know where all the books came from. I mean, if they’re all just from my family or not. I just know who wrote most of them and, roughly, where they were written.” she told him. It had been a bit of a pain trying to translate some of the languages and learning them had only helped so much. ”We’re almost there.” she said with a growing smile to show her own excitement.
"Awesome I'm psyched." Theo said with a grin as he looked out the window "This is really a once in a lifetime opportunity!" he told her with a wide smile
Her own smile grew at his excitement. ”Yeah… I guess it is.” she said a bit softly. In a way, she supposed this was his version of seeing the Bat Cave or Fortress of Solitude for the first time… Despite the fact that Grimm’s didn't often seem to be heroes. At least, not to Wesen.
"Theo just waited happily, doing the classic leg bounce that…oh dear he had forgotten his ADHD medicine. Oh It would be fine Just calm down Theo he told himself
As they turned off the main streets and down a well-worn dirt road, Meg noticed Theo’s action but just attributed it to his excitement. She smiled softly as she saw the cabin starting to peek through the trees. ”There it is.”
The wood cabin looked to be pretty normal on the outside, about average in size and seemed to be only one level.
"That's a pretty nice cabin…the family used to rent one back down south. Great to stay in one and get away from Atlanta smog." Theo nodded "You live here?"
”That sounds pretty nice.” Meg smiled as they pulled up to the garage door. ”Yeah. I live here. It's easier to keep everything safe when I’m always near it.” she told him as she got out of the car and headed past her little garden towards the front door.
Theo followed behind her "Aw that's a nice little garden…I guess that's just a downside to living in an apartment." he shrugged as he stopped behind her at the front door
”Thanks.” Meg smiled as she unlocked the door. ”My mom was a botanist and it turns out there's actually something to all that lavender for luck and roses for love stuff.” she blushed a little at the admittance for some reason. Maybe because it felt a little silly or childish to believe that sort of thing. Most of the flowers outside were supposedly meant for protection and a bit of luck.
"that's sweet " Theo told her as a little smile twitched at his face. He followed her in inside of the cabin "mom's a nurse so she doesn't really have the time…she loves lavender though…but who doesn't?" He chuckled
Meg laughed a little and nodded. ”Yeah. As far as I know, no one’s allergic to it or anything so I don't see a reason why people wouldn't like it.” she agreed, kicking off her shoes and heading into the living room. ”Hey, you want some coffee or anything?”
The living room and kitchen were, again, pretty normal-looking just in case anyone ever came over, for some reason, or broke in… with the latter being the more likely.
Theo followed suit with the leaving of his shoes by the door "Sure that'd be nice." he told her as he looked around "Man this place is pretty nice. Beats and an apartment." he told Meg. He followed her into the living room
”Thanks, Theo. But you're place isn't bad either.” Meg smiled at him. His place may have been smaller than hers but… it was normal, surrounded by other people. She lived alone, practically in the middle of nowhere… She almost felt like a hermit. Shaking away those thoughts she headed to the kitchen, which was right next to the living room with no wall separating them. ”So, coffee? Or I actually make my own tea blends…” she offered.
