”That’s good.” she nodded. ”I won't ask what yours did but I'm not really going to call mine a saint either. Being what we are doesn't exactly come with a paycheck but he somehow managed to take care of us and keep everything a secret.” she shook her head to get off that train of thought. ”What are your cousins studying?”
"One's studying to be a surgeon and the other's going into teaching elementary school." He responded as he took another swig from his drink "What do you do besides Grimm work that is?"
She chuckled a little at his question. ”I’m actually looking for something right now. This doesn't exactly make me very customer friendly.” she pointed at her eyes. ”I’ve done some temp jobs and… well before it kicked in I was working on an art scholarship.”
"Well I'm sorry to hear that. If you need a job until you can find work I can offer you a position…lost some workers to the big name book stores." Theo looked to her and his tone was completely serious.
Meg almost choked on her beer at the suggestion. ”You’re offering me a job at your bookstore?” she asked, a little shocked. ”I mean I appreciate that but… You’re not worried I’d scare people off? One look at me and most run off.”
"Wear sunglasses maybe? A lot of my costumers are non-wesen anyway." he shrugged "And if you're in the same room with a wesen," he pointed to himself with his thumb ", and he's not freaking out then it'll be easier to convince the maybe four of five wesen costumers I get a day that you're not that bad."
She nodded slowly as she thought over what he said. He did have good points, though the sunglasses wouldn't always work. It might make her look hungover. But if he was sure about the customers… and she hadn't been having much luck on the job search lately. ”I did volunteer at my school library a couple of times and I spent a year going over my dad's collection…” she looked at him.
"Well then you're hired." he said with a little chuckle as he drained the rest of the contents in his bottle. "It's not really that hard a job just help people find what they're looking for."
She smirked a little and nodded. ”Ok. I’ll do it. I can come in tomorrow and fill out any paperwork to make it official.” she offered, glancing at his outfit to gauge the ”dress code” before finishing her own drink. She had seen the business hours on the door when she arrived so she had a good idea of when to show up.
"Aright sounds good. Anything to say?…Oh yeah the just wear something causal but not sloppy. Alright cool I think we're all good now, and if you ever need any information on any more 'cases' then you'll be right there already." Theo told her as he paid for the drinks "Alright one drink is enough for me tonight."
Meg smiled back ”Thanks, Theo. I really appreciate this.” she told him. ”Um… I can't really think of any other questions right now but if I come up with something, I’ll ask tomorrow.” she said standing up.
"Cool well I guess you can just drop me back by the shop on your way home if you'd please." Theo asked as he stood to his feet as well
”Sure. No problem.” Meg nodded, starting to head to the door. ”And thanks for the drink. I was going to pay for my own at least.” she smirked a little.
"You already paid me so it's the least I could do. I guess I'm gonna be paying you now." Theo smiles as they left the bar.
Meg smirks at his answer, leading him back to her bike. “I guess that’s fair. Though you did help me out earlier… twice actually.” she pointed out as she pulled out her keys.
"Just let you use the internet then bit a girl's ankle." he shrugs as he gets on the back of the bike again.
”If you wanna downplay it, sure.” Meg said as she started the engine and backing out of the parking lot before heading to the bookstore.
Theo noticeably was calmer and seemed to enjoy the bike ride as the mood was relaxed. Yeah they were crazy stories. Times change and this Grimm just seems to want to help everyone, wesen and normal people alike
Meg had a small calm smile on her face as she drove. Honestly, this night hadn't gone how she expected… aside from stopping the Spinnetod but even that had had been different. All because of the Fuchsbau sitting behind her. And now she also has a job working with him. This’ll be interesting but I'm not going to complain.
When they got to his shop he slid off and waved "See you tomorrow." he called and shook her hand one more time "Get home safe now."
”You too, boss.” she smirked a little as she shook his hand. ”See ya tomorrow.” she waved back before driving home. Maybe it was just a Grimm thing but she felt tomorrow would be just as interesting as tonight was… even if she didn't have to track down another Wesen.
Theo smiled a bit at the first comment and after she drove away he started on his way back home, soon coming to the apartment complex he lived in. He got ready to hit the hay after locking his door behind himself. That girl's just brought a spark of non-normalcy in my otherwise dull, boring life he thought as he brushed his teeth, doing the same a second time when he woged
Meg sighed a little as she saw her dad's cabin come into view. He had left it to her in his will and the land around it as well. She parked in the garage next to her dad's old jeep and locked up before bringing all of the gear inside with her. After cleaning and organizing the weapons, she got changed and collapsed on her bed, debating on if she should just go to sleep or make a quick journal entry. She rolled onto her side and starting writing. She could sketch tomorrow.
Theo lay awake in his bed checking his cell phone before going to sleep. A new shipment of books was geting in early tomorrow so he'd arrive a bit earlier than he had planned. Oh well at least new selection could attract more people. He set his phone on his bedside table and flopped over, soon slipping into sleep.
Meg skimmed her newest entry and gave a small smile. She may not come across any new Wesen but she liked the thought of the potential future generation of Grimms’ reading and learning from her. Closing the book carefully, she set it on the nightstand and turned out her light. She finally let herself relax completely and soon fell asleep, actually looking very peaceful.
