He dipped a cotton ball in some isopropyl alcohol and asked Meg to stay still as he softly cleaned out her scratches "I think you know this'll sting a bit, and it's no problem you were the one to help me this time."
”Yeah.” she nodded briefly, keeping the movement small before holding still. ”Well, like I said, I just had a feeling that I needed to come back.”
"Well…" he took out one of the butterfly bandages on her cuts to help them close quicker before lastly applying a large pad bandage "…I'm happy to have met you…sure glad too."
She nodded a little as he finished with the bandages. ”I… I’m glad to have met you too, Theo.” she said softly. ”You’re a pretty good person yourself.”
"Thank you…now let's see…" traced where he had put the bandage to make sure it was secure "Alright that should heal up nicely."
She smiled a little, careful of the bandage. ”Thanks… again.” she chuckled, shaking her head briefly. ”You… You should probably get some ice for that bruise.” she reminded him.
He nodded and went over to a drawer and then filled a little bag with ice, pressing it to his his cheek "I was more worried about your open wound to be honest." Theo admitted as a dull ache went through the side of his face
”Don’t blame you. For all I know, that guy could've had some of that liver drug under his nails when he scratched me.” she agreed, chuckling a little. ”Hope he actually reads the note I left him.”
"What'd it say?" he asked as he went into the kitchen and started to go through his freezer
”For your own sake, get out of business. G.” she answered with a shrug. ”I know that could sound like a threat, but I’m not going to go after him. He can take it however he wants as long as it gets the message across.”
"well good…you really are a different Grimm then the stories I was told" he said as he pressed a cool pack against his face now
”I hope so.” she sighed. ”I don't want to be known as just a narrow-minded killer.” she admitted, wondering if she should leave now or stay a little longer.
"well I think I'm good here but if you wanted anything to eat or anything I got some leftovers." He offered as he winced, the ache annoying more than anything else.
Meg looked up at him and shook her head. ”Oh, no. I couldn't. You've already done enough for me.” she said, standing up. ”I really appreciate everything but I should probably get going and just see you tomorrow at work.”
"Well bye them." he said, holding his hand out again "See you tomorrow then."
She smiled a little and shook his hand. ”See you tomorrow, boss.” she told him before heading to the door.
wow who knew I'd end up befriending and even becoming a temporary boss for a Grimm? Theo thought as he opened the door for Meg, saying one last goodbye as he softly closed and bolted the door behind her
Meg smiled at him and waited until she heard the door lock before heading back to her car. She wanted to be sure that he would be safe this time. It kind of made her feel bad that he got attacked, it felt like it was her fault. She sighed a little in minor frustration as she climbed in her car and started home.
Soon enough Theo was ready to slumber again as he had gotten fully ready. Strangely enough his dreams didn't really make that much sense until he dreamt about Meg, looking to her eyes and seeing her nutty brown eyes instead of the pools of black he always saw from her
After Meg finally made it home and had a light dinner, she jotted down a brief journal entry about the new information she learned. Before she went to bed she started two quick sketches. One of herself from a recent picture, though it was going to be her from a Wesen perspective with blacked out eyes. The second one was of Theo. However, she was having a hard time deciding which side of him she was going to draw; the man or the Fuchsbau.
Soon the dream shifted back into what it did most nights. It was of the perspective of a small Theo looking in on a 'business deal' with another costumer. He had a baggie of the red powder that the wesen had used before, however this business deal went way differently for the consumer pulled out a small handgun and shot Theo's father in the gut, ignoring Theo rushing to his fallen father as he plucked the bag from Mr. Sutton's slackening hands. Mr. Sutton looked his son in his eyes and just was able to say "I'm sorry son…I'm sorry you had to see this…" he coughed violently, blood sputtering at his mouth "Just keep yourself safe from this nasty, soul sucking drug." and with that his head leaned back as life left his body with a final breath out.
Theo woke up, drenched in sweat, shaking a little, but it wan't anything new for most nights this was just was happens
Meg had put aside the rough sketches for the night and climbed into bed, careful to avoid laying on her bandage. She looked around the bedroom briefly and reached for the lamp next to her. ”Good night, dad.” she whispered as the room went dark. There were days when she missed him more than others. Five years didn't always seem so long ago.
Theo didn't sleep all that well the rest of the night but got out of bed and showered, paying the bookstore bills instead of sleeping the rest the night for he knew that his dreams would torment him if he chose to submit to sleep.
Meg slept pretty peacefully… though she did wake up once or twice because she rolled on to her bandaged cheek. Finally waking up for the day, a little earlier than normal, she turned on the news and started making herself something for breakfast.
As he payed the bills online his email got another message in the inbox. He clicked on it and it was a message from a hidden source
We know what she is you freak was all that was sent.
A shiver went down his spine as he didn't send a message back. Instead he just remembered to pocket his father's old switch blade before he would walk out the door. In the mean time he made himself something to eat as well and turned on the television too.
