“Those two are crazy,” Ava mutters, shaking her head. One minute they love each other and the next they hate each other. She picks her coffee back up and takes a sip.
Kreja follows Lily into the living room. He hops up on the couch next to her and curls up.
Cameron grunted, and suddenly chuckled softly. He couldn't help but to think that was himself and Ava at times.
Lily set her chin on his flank, wiggling closer and kissing his ears again. Her tail thumped as she relaxed with a sigh.
Ava glances over to him and raises a brow when she hears him chuckle. “What’s funny?” She asks him, curious.
Kreja licks Lily’s cheek again before settling his head on her paws. With a content sigh, he closes his eyes.
"Oh, I was just thinking what you said was kind of like us. Sometimes we like each other, sometimes we want to rip each other's throat out," Cameron explained with another soft laugh. "It's kinda funny, really."
The corners of Ava’s mouth turn up in a grin. “You’re right,” She agrees with a light laugh. “Our babies get their weird behavior from us.” That’s almost a scary thought. Even though Kreja is a dog, she hopes that he turns out nothing like her.
Cameron chuckled, thinking about the same thing she was. But it was ridiculous to think of a dog who would go out and kill people for money.
"Anyway, once you're done we can go get ready to go if you'd like. Or you could stay and make sure the dogs don't set the house on fire."
Ava glances over to the dog in question. She really hopes that he stays this sweet and playful forever. “I’m going with you,” She tells him, returning her attention to Cameron. “Don’t worry, I’m going to behave, I promise,” She chuckles lightly. Picking up her coffee mug, she takes a few more sips.
"Psh, you're not my main worry, Ava," Cameron teased gently as he finished off his coffee and rinsed out his cup, sticking his hand out for her cup. "Alright, let's just hope we come back to a standing house. But if they fall asleep, they'll probably not notice we're gone until we come back."
“Are you sure about that? ‘Cause you always seem awful worried about me,” Ava teases him back. She finishes off her coffee and then sets the mug in the sink. “I’m sure that they’ll be fine. They’re both passed out on the couch,” She comments with a small smile.
Cameron frowned a bit when she passed up his outstretched hand and proceeded to pick up her cup and wash it.
"I'm not worried about you. Well, that's a bit of a lie. I get worried when you seemingly don't see my hand," He joked with a grin her way. "If you're sure, we can go."
Ava blinks and looks over to him. Had he been doing something with his hand? “What were you doing with you hand?” She asks, genuinely confused. “Yes, I’m sure,” She confirms with a hand. Just how bad can a shopping trip be? They’ll get there, find a coffee maker, and then leave.
"I wanted to grab your cup so I could wash it," He said, drying the cups and setting them back into the cabinet. He wondered what else they'd do other than get a coffee machine. Maybe he could buy her an ice cream or a tasty pretzel.
“I didn’t see you, sorry,” She says, wondering why that would have upset him. “Okay, I’m going to do get dressed.” Turning, she starts to head back up the stairs. Might as well hurry this up and get the shipping over with.
It didn't upset him, just made him somewhat worried for her. He nodded with a grin. "Alright, I'll be down here." He turned to the basement and going down to the laundry room to get dressed.
After a few minutes, she returns downstairs, ready to go. She's wearing a pair of skinny jeans, a royal blue sweater, and her hair has been pulled back into a braid. "Cameron? Are you ready to go?" She calls out.
Cameron was relaxing in a heavy jacket and a pair of jeans similar to hers, with a pair of boots. He was quite ready for the cold.
"Yeah, ready to go," He called, poking his head out of the foyer.
Ava shoves her phone and wallet into her back pocket before moving over to him. “Okay, let’s get going then,” She says with a loop sided smile. It’s been a while since she’s actually been shopping so this should be an interesting experience.
Cameron grabbed up his own wallet and his keys, popping them into the jacket pockets and leading the way out to the snow-covered ground. He sighed into the air, unlocking his car and ducking under, opening it for her from the inside.
Ava walks through the snow, the white fluff crunching beneath her boots. When the door opens up, she hops inside and buckles up. “It’s fucking cold out there,” She mutters, rubbing her hands together.
Cameron started the car, turning up the heat right away. "It sure as hell is, Ava. Don't need to tell me twice," He said with a meek chuckle, setting the car into drive and moving forward out of the driveway.
Ava shoots him an unimpressed look. When the heat is cut on, she sighs a little. “I miss Aruba,” She mutters dramatically, fondly thinking back to those memories. What she would give to be back there for a week or two. Hell, she’d even kill for just one day.
"Aruba," Cameron repeated, deciding not to spare her a glance when she glared at him. He wasn't sure why she liked the heat of countries so far out. He would take the cold and snow over heat and sun.
“Mmhm,” Ava confirms with a nod. “I lived there for a few months. It was beautiful,” She sighs, peering out the window and glaring with disdain at the snow. “I wish I was there now. Or Bora Bora, or Fiji, or the Bermuda, or Tahiti. Anywhere tropical and sunny.”
Cameron faned himself a bit with a sigh. "I don't know. I feel like somewhere too tropical would just be a pain. So many bugs and nastiness. The winter is kind of a break from all of that humidity, mosquitoes, and other awful things."
“Winter is awful. Snow and sleet cover the roads and then the cold always gets people sick. There is nothing good about winter,” Ava tells him, shaking her head. “Just look out there. It’s a special kind of hell.”
