"No, people get sick because they turn up the heat in their homes and bacteria grows. It has nothing to do with the cold," Cameron corrected pointedly. "Besides, there are mosquitoes, and ticks and thunderstorms. Ugh."
"No, people get sick because they turn up the heat in their homes and bacteria grows. It has nothing to do with the cold," Cameron corrected pointedly. "Besides, there are mosquitoes, and ticks and thunderstorms. Ugh."
“It has everything to do with the cold. If it weren’t so damn frigid outside then they wouldn’t have to turn up their heat,” Ava scoffs at him. “Don’t be such a baby. Bug spray takes care of the mosquitoes and ticks.” She doesn’t make a comment on the thunderstorms since she does hate those.
"Not all of them. A bunch just fucking land on you anyway and bite you," Cameron muttered bitterly. He had gotten his fair share of mosquito bites and even tick bites after hiking when he was younger. This sprouted an unholy hatred for the flying, nasty, insects.
“One of these days I’m going to drag you somewhere sunny and tropical just so I can show you just how great it is,” Ava tells him, confident that she can get him to change his opinion. Peering out of the window, she wonder where the hell they are. The snow makes it impossible to see.
"No. We live here where the summer is hot enough. I can't imagine a tropical heat. Ugh." He shook his head but immedately stopped when he had to turn. The brunet seemed to know exactly where he was.
“Come on. It would be fun. The dogs can play on the beach and we could go zip lining or something.” Her eyes brighten at just the thought of it. Cold weather just doesn’t agree with her. She’ll take an island any day of the week.
"Zip-lining?" He asked, glancing at her once. He didn't have the balls to admit to her that 1) he was afraid of heights and 2) he was not leaving Lily on her own on a beach. "I guess. But I think we live in a tropical enougn area."
“You are no fun,” She tells him, shaking her head. “Zip-lining is great. A monkey climbed on my shoulders one time.” That trip had been a blast. “Are we almost there? I can’t see a damn thing with all of that white shit out there.”
Cameron just gritted his teeth together as she spoke, shaking his head again. "I don't like heights. And yeah, we're almost there, don't diss snow, just cus you can't see in it. You're just angry cus all the points I've brought up defending it are right."
“Don’t you set up your sniper’s nests on rooftops?” Ava questions, looking over to him. “None of the points you’ve brought up are even good. Snow sucks. It’s cold and it makes life a living hell,” She huffs, stretching out a little.
Cameron huffed softly. "Just because I'm afraid of heights doesn't mean I can't stomach the fear of them. Right. But you're just being stubborn. Winter is so much better than summer and that's a fact." He pulled in at the mall's abandoned parking lot and parked.
“I’ll admit that over my dead body,” Ava insists, refusing to admit that there’s a single good thing about winter. When the car comes to a stop, she pulls on her gloves and climbs out, her feet landing in some snow. She grumbles bitterly for a few moments as she tries to figure out where Cameron is so she doesn’t loose him in all of the white.
Cameron took the keys from the car and rose from the car with a faint yawn, shutting the door and climbing over the snow to her.
"Oi, come on, lazy bones. I'm going in," He called to her as he walked by, his feet crunching the snow.
Ava grabs onto his jacket sleeve and hangs on for dear life. “Don’t leave me behind, asshole,” She grumbles, trailing after him. “You know what type of coffee maker to get?” She asks, hoping that they won’t have to spend a lot of time in here.
Cameron ignored her will for him to basically slow down, and kept up the strides until he was inside and walking down the empty white hall of the mall.
"Not yet. I want a damn good one, though."
Ava refuses to let go of him until they’re safely inside. “Fuck snow!” She exclaims, peeling off her gloves and stuffing them into her pocket. At least the heat in this joint works. “Which store?” She’s never been in this wall before so she has no idea where anything is.
Cameron rolled his eyes at her dramatic anger, sticking his hands into his pockets. "There's one on the top floor we're gonna try first," He decided, glancing at her. "Are you sure you're alright? You look like you're freezing. Need an extra layer or anything?" He asked, just out of concern for his friend.
Ava grabs onto his arm and presses up against him. “No, I don’t need an extra layer. You’re warm enough. Thanks for the offer,” She tells him, refusing to have to deal with putting on another jacket or coat. What she has on should be more than enough as long as she stays close to him.
Cameron huffed softly at her and paused, taking off his jacket and wrapping it around her shoulders, zipping it up without the need for her to put her arms through. "There, now you're as snug as a bug." He continued walking, sticking his hands back into his jean pockets as he approached the tall escalators.
“I told you that I was fine,” Ava mutters, trailing after him. She has to admit that his jacket is really warm. Stepping onto the escalator, she glances up to try and get a peek at the next level. “How many floors is this thing?” She questions, wanting to know what she’s getting herself into.
Cameron scaled the escalator with a yawn as he waited for her. "Just three. Wait, no, four. One is just the basement level for the cars n' shit, and the top floor is the food court and movie theater. There's just two big ass floors with stores." He continued walking as she finally reached the top.
“I forgot how much I hate malls,” Ava comments, joining him after a moment or so. Why is four floors even necessary? “Okay, you seem to actually know what you’re doing so lead the way.” If she tries to figure this out then she’d get lost.
Cameron hummed softly in response and just kept walking, leading her to a certain store. When they approached it, the smell of wafting coffee greeted their noses. Cameron beckoned for her to hurry up before trotting in, humming happily.
"Alright, which one do you want to get?" He gestured around the store, which had many coffeemakers on display, able to use, with shelves of coffee lining the walls.
Ava’s eyes light up when she smells the amazing scent of coffee. She wiggles out of his coat and drapes it over her arms. It might be wise to be able to have the use of her arms and hands. Approaching the shelves, she starts the study the coffee makers. “Which one of these looks the best to you? All I do is drink coffee, I don’t make it.” She hums, fiddling with some buttons on a real blue machine. Luckily, it doesn’t break.
Cameron watched her carefully, as if she were a hyperactive toddler. Which she kind of was with her tendancy of breaking things.
"I don't know, let's try and make some coffee. Which I'm pretty sure is allowed here." He tapped her hands away from the buttons so he could see them. "Stop, you might break it."
