"Yeah, but there's one problem…" said Silver, "I can understand putting flowers on a cake for show, but not that one, it's petals are known for being covered in juices that can be lethal it you ingest them."

Deleted user

"Maybe that's why we never made that cake… It's only purpose was to show…. Yet who knows…" But I'm too scared to find out if those petals are actually lethal. "Perhaps we should try something else?" Lee asked quickly, feeling discomfort settle in.

Deleted user

"Probably a good idea." said Silver, "Though I'm curious as to why that's there…. Unless of course it's a case of misidentification… but I'm usually good with that sort of thing.."

Deleted user

"We can't tell for sure… But we'll just play it safe…. Does the sunflower cake sound good? It's just chocolate cake with standard yellow frosting…" Lee shrugged. "But we better pick fast, or it'll be finished by the time I'm ready to go to bed, and you…. Erm… Have to go back home."

Deleted user

Silver nodded, "Sounds great to me" he said happily, giving Lee a bright smile. "And I don't think you have to worry about me having to get home in the dark, believe it or not I'm actually somewhat nocturnal…"

Deleted user

"Oh!…. I wasn't really expecting that…" He glanced back at the book and began listing things off. "For the cake, we need… Hm…. Butter, flour, sugar, vanilla extract, and…. Eggs…. Which I should have plenty of…."

Deleted user

Silver quickly searched Lee's cupboards and pulled out each thing as he read it off. "Check, check, and check." he said, grinning.

Deleted user

"Good…." Lee bent down and pulled a mixing bowl from the cabinets below. "And I'll get the measuring stuff…" He hopped to another high cabinet and pulled out at least a half a dozen dry measuring cups. He set them down and let out a sigh. This might take a while… As all cakes do…

Deleted user

Silver watched as he got the stuff down, checking the book and starting up the oven.

Deleted user

Lee managed to measure everything and put it into the mixing bowl. He put it under the countertop mixer with the right fixture and turned it on, mixing everything in delicately. "Now as the cake bakes, we'll make the frosting so by the time it comes out, we can frost it right away after it cools for a few minutes."

Deleted user

Silver nodded, watching him with interest. Quickly pulling out the icing sugar, butter, and milk, and setting them on the counter for Lee.

Deleted user

Once it was mixed, he poured the batter into two identical circular pans on the counter. Once they were full, he put them in the oven carefully. He closed it and set the timer. "Now while that bakes, we have to make the frosting. Or would you like to give it a shot?" He smiled warmly.

Deleted user

Silver shrugged, "Icing can't be that hard" he said, pulling out another bowl and pouring in some icing sugar.

Deleted user

"This stuff you can mix by hand using a rubber spatula…" He grabbed one from the vase-like container on the counter and held it out for him to take it.

Deleted user

Silver took it, adding milk and mixing, frowning at how lumpy it got.

Deleted user

"Try mixing it faster…. With a strong wrist…." Lee said glancing inside the bowl. "Here – you want me to show you?" He held out a gentle hand to Silver.

Deleted user

Silver glanced over, "I got it" he said, switching grips to beat it quickly.

Deleted user

Lee took his hand back, nodding. "Yeah, that's it – see? The clumps are already disappearing. You know how to do this," He said jokingly.

Deleted user

"Figured I'd just use the same technique I use for lotions…" he said focusing on whipping it together.

Deleted user

"….Lotions…..?" Lee scrunched his brow. "….I suppose you never really told me what you do for a living." Lotions….

Deleted user

"I'm a healer.." said Silver, pausing to look up at him, "I've been practicing the art since I was a kid, and I mean literally, my parents were healers too."

Deleted user

"Oh! Well that's interesting…. This whole property is actually where I grew up – it was the family farm where everyone lived. Grandparents, parents and me. They left me with everything, and…. Well… Here I am now, trying to keep the spark alive." But it's hard to when you can't have children since – He cut off. "So that's where I'm at…. For now."

Deleted user

Silver sighed, a wistful look in his eyes. "You might say I'm doing the same thing, sticking with healing…."

Deleted user

"Hm…. Well…." Lee shrugged his shoulders uncomfortably. "I suppose that's unfortunate in a sense…." I don't really know what else to tell him… I would pass the farm on, yet I can't have kids because not only do I not have the money, but I can't get myself a girl…. He remembered how he tried on multiple occasions, but it never ever worked, so he gave up. But this might be a little different…. His cheeks warmed a little.

Silver looked up at him, turning back to the icing, then over at the whirring beater. "I think the batter's ready to go in now!" he said.

Deleted user

(Uhm… I'm fairly certain he didn't…. but let's say he did… I'll change it in a sec..)

Deleted user

Silver looked up at him, turning back to the icing. "I think the Icing's ready to go in now!" he said.

Once it was mixed, he poured the batter into two identical circular pans on the counter. Once they were full, he put them in the oven carefully. He closed it and set the timer.

(He said he put it in the oven…. But whatever I get stupidly mixed up all the time…)

Lee peeked at the cake slabs in the oven. "It still needs a few more minutes…" He rubbed his hands together. "I suppose we did make that frosting relatively quick…."

Deleted user

"That's what happens when you have a strong arm for lotion and pastes…." said Silver wryly.
