Silver nodded, watching him with interest. Quickly pulling out the icing sugar, butter, and milk, and setting them on the counter for Lee.
Once it was mixed, he poured the batter into two identical circular pans on the counter. Once they were full, he put them in the oven carefully. He closed it and set the timer. "Now while that bakes, we have to make the frosting. Or would you like to give it a shot?" He smiled warmly.
Silver shrugged, "Icing can't be that hard" he said, pulling out another bowl and pouring in some icing sugar.
"This stuff you can mix by hand using a rubber spatula…" He grabbed one from the vase-like container on the counter and held it out for him to take it.
Silver took it, adding milk and mixing, frowning at how lumpy it got.
"Try mixing it faster…. With a strong wrist…." Lee said glancing inside the bowl. "Here – you want me to show you?" He held out a gentle hand to Silver.
Silver glanced over, "I got it" he said, switching grips to beat it quickly.
Lee took his hand back, nodding. "Yeah, that's it – see? The clumps are already disappearing. You know how to do this," He said jokingly.
"Figured I'd just use the same technique I use for lotions…" he said focusing on whipping it together.
"….Lotions…..?" Lee scrunched his brow. "….I suppose you never really told me what you do for a living." Lotions….
"I'm a healer.." said Silver, pausing to look up at him, "I've been practicing the art since I was a kid, and I mean literally, my parents were healers too."
"Oh! Well that's interesting…. This whole property is actually where I grew up – it was the family farm where everyone lived. Grandparents, parents and me. They left me with everything, and…. Well… Here I am now, trying to keep the spark alive." But it's hard to when you can't have children since – He cut off. "So that's where I'm at…. For now."
Silver sighed, a wistful look in his eyes. "You might say I'm doing the same thing, sticking with healing…."
"Hm…. Well…." Lee shrugged his shoulders uncomfortably. "I suppose that's unfortunate in a sense…." I don't really know what else to tell him… I would pass the farm on, yet I can't have kids because not only do I not have the money, but I can't get myself a girl…. He remembered how he tried on multiple occasions, but it never ever worked, so he gave up. But this might be a little different…. His cheeks warmed a little.
Silver looked up at him, turning back to the icing, then over at the whirring beater. "I think the batter's ready to go in now!" he said.
(Wait I think he already put it in the oven….)
(Uhm… I'm fairly certain he didn't…. but let's say he did… I'll change it in a sec..)
Silver looked up at him, turning back to the icing. "I think the Icing's ready to go in now!" he said.

(He said he put it in the oven…. But whatever I get stupidly mixed up all the time…)
Lee peeked at the cake slabs in the oven. "It still needs a few more minutes…" He rubbed his hands together. "I suppose we did make that frosting relatively quick…."
"That's what happens when you have a strong arm for lotion and pastes…." said Silver wryly.
"I've stirred several things myself throughout my years, too," Lee admitted. "I even have the muscle for it…." He teased.
"You've probably never had to grind crystals into fine powder before." said Silver with a grin, "Or scrape flakes off of metal"
"Try getting a cow in its pen…." He muttered under his breath. Damn that was exhausting… "But I bet the things you do are great as well."
The oven was finally done, and he pulled the door open, a blast of heat puffing in his face. He grunted and drew back. "Can't forget…." He slipped the oven mitts on and pulled the cakes out, setting them on the stove.
Silver came over, "I don't know about you but I can't wait for them to cool on their own." He said, a titch of frost at his fingertips.
"Well…." Lee shifted back and forth. "Let's just let them cool by themselves just to make sure it comes out the right way…." He said with a grin.
