Lee got the grill set up, dumping the charcoal in the burning compartment. That'll do…. He opened the ash tray, unaware he hadn't emptied it since the last use, and ashes puffed up all over his face. "Aauh!!" He wailed, standing back up. I didn't expect that much ash!!!
Silver heard something from outside, and quickly heading outside. Spotting Lee he burst into laughter.
Lee glanced over his shoulder, holding the ash tray in one hand and smearing the ash all over his face on the other. "What???" He let out a tiny chuckle. "You would be surprised too!"
Silver managed to stop laughing for two seconds, "You're covered in ashes!" he said, laughing some more.
Lee gave him an angered look. "Okay…. If you want it that way…." He rubbed his entire hand in the ash tray and wiped it all across Silver's face. "How do you like that, huh!?" He bellowed, laughing.
Silver blinked, laughing some more. "very funny Lee!"
"Oh stop!" He pushed Silver's shoulder with his cleanest hand. "It isn't that funny! I just got myself in an accident…."
Max came outside, randomly and happily barking and joining in the fun.
Silver managed to calm down, unable to stop grinning, "You're adorable when you're mad." he said teasingly.
"Yeah yeah, I sure am…" He tipped his head around, mumbling. His face began to burn under all the dark ashes. He's called me adorable one too many times today….
Max barked again, his tail wagging.
Silver caught his arm gently, "I'm not joking around Lee…." he said quietly.
Lee flinched, looking Silver right in the eye. "Huh?…." Not joking….? Dear me…. His chest began to warm and his heart throbbed.
"I just hope I'm not wasting my time.."
He furrowed his brow. "Now why would you think you're wasting your time…?" I bet he's finally reached that point…. Maybe I'm the one who messed up, not him… Because his flirting keeps on bypassing me!!!
"I don't know if you're ok with it…" said Silver sheepishly.
"W-Well, I…." Lee hesitated. "I mean…. I'm fine with it… B-But we've known each other for less than twenty four hours… At least…." He paused. "Of course I'm okay with it, it's just… I don't know what to give back…" I have no idea how to do that, I've never been in a relationship in my entire life all because…. He stopped himself right there.
Silver let go of his arm and pulled him into a hug. "It's okay…" he whispered softly,
Lee accepted Silver's hug, resting his chin on his shoulder. "Thank you…." He murmured. "…Thank you…."
Max got in on the action and jumped up on his hind legs to hug the two of them together.
Silver smiled, "you're welcome." Said Silver, laughing as the dog joined them.
Lee still hung onto Silver, just kinda sitting there in a hug. "I guess I've always needed something like this…" Which is good for me, ain't gonna lie….
Silver smiled at him, pulling him closer. "Then why haven't you gotten it before?"
"I don't know… I'm just always worried about what people think of me all the time…" Lee muttered into his ear. "Like how they always give me the nastiest look when I'm just trying to get myself some money to make it through the day…."
Silver frowned. "Y'know I'd probably have it worse if they could see the truth just by looking…" he said.
Lee furrowed his brow. "And what's that?… If you don't mind telling me…." He finally drew out of the hug, but was still close to Silver.
Max got down and looked at the two of them.
"I'd show you, but I don't want your dog to freak on me…" said Silver quietly, "they tend to have bad reactions…"
"Oh! My apologies… Then maybe a bit later when we're by ourselves…." Lee wiped at his face and moaned. "I totally forgot I still had this on my face… Lemme go wash up and then we can finally get started on the chicken and everything else."
