"Then good luck," Cicada responded with a little laugh. She wondered why he wasn't eaten, but figured he just wasn't hungry and dropped the thought there. She had had those days in the past, "Science can be a bitch."
"Then good luck," Cicada responded with a little laugh. She wondered why he wasn't eaten, but figured he just wasn't hungry and dropped the thought there. She had had those days in the past, "Science can be a bitch."
"Mmm… yeah. I have to agree with you." Phoenix nodded a bit. His mind was blank of thoughts, having him realize this would cause problems later on in class.
Cicada nodded and continued to eat. She yawned a little but shook her head to try and clear the fog of tiredness. She gave him a smile, "So you don't like science?"
"It's a fifty fifty if I'm being honest. Depends on the day." Phoenix looked over at her, glancing at her up and down. She still looked tired, but there wasn't much he could do about it.
"I mean, that's fair," Cicada glanced at Phoenix with a big grin on. She rested her head on her hand while she was still smiling over at him, "I just always dislike science."
"That's me with English." Phoenix hummed, taking a moment to stretch out. With a sigh, he glanced over his shoulder to the science building. "Once we finish lunch, we've both got a little while until next class. What do you wanna do?"
"Mmmm we could just hang out here?" Cicada suggested with a light shrug. She looked around to see a semi-buzzing campus with kids entering and exiting the cafeteria. Others just seemed to be enjoying the day.
"Works with me. I'm happy staying here." Phoenix nodded, pulling a notepad out of his back pack with a smile. "We could play a game too, I've got pens and paper."
"Ooo hangman," Cicada responded with a grin at the mention of pen and paper. It was the first game that came to mind with the materials they had, "Or tic tact toe. That works too."
"Whatever you want to do, I'll gladly follow along." Phoenix told her with a bright smile. "It's your pick, and we can always play the other game later." He pointed out, still smiling.
Cicada shoveled in more spaghetti. She swallowed the bite before responding, "Right. Let's finish lunch and then we can play hangman. Just make you suffer from the words a little longer."
Chuckling a bit, he pulled his lunch back to him so he could finish it. If he didn't, he'd be starving later. So better to fill up now. "That's alright. I can muster up a few words."
"That's good," Cicada gave him a smile and continued to eat up. She figured she could finish it up soon enough and then the garlic bread. She took another sip of water, "We should see who can come up with the most ridiculous word."
"Oooh… I may win. I know one, two actually, that I promise are actual words." Phoenix insisted, only taking a minute or two to finish up his food. Smile plastered on his face as he did, he tried to mentally spell the odd words in his head.
"Oh so do I," Cicada responded with a big grin as she finished up her lunch. She pushed the tray with the bowl and plate away from her, "But if your so confident then you can go first."
Nodding a bit, he pulled the paper pad closer to him and sketched out the hanging post. 'Hippopoto-monstro-sesuiquipedalio-phobia… shouldn't be too hard to figure out.' He snickered at his mental conversation before sliding the paper over to he with the 36 spaces. "Your move."
Cicada looked at the 36 spaces and thought for a moment. She knew it was probably best to start with the vowels and looked up at him, "Is there an A in there? Or is it a-less."
Giving her a light laugh, he pulled the paper back so he could fill in two of the blanks. "There's a's… but it doesn't really get you anywhere." Phoenix nodded, sliding it back over to her.
Cicada let out a sigh and bit her lip in thought. She figured she should just go through the entire vowel list, "What about e? Are there more of those?"
"Nope. There's one, e." Phoenix told her, scanning over the spaces before filling in one of the blanks. "Oh- wait, no there's two." He nodded, filling in a second blank before pulling back.
Cicada groaned as she studied the blanks heavily. Her hands were in her hair as she let out a sigh, "Is. Please tell me there are more Is in there than the others."
Giving her his most genuine smile, he nodded a bit. "You're in luck. There's five of them." Phoenix told her, writing out the lowercase i's to fill up the spaces. "What now?"
"Oh thank God," Cicada let out a sigh of relief. Lot's of I's, but not much else. There were two more vowels, but she doubted any u's were in there, "Let's do O's next please."
"Seven of them. You hit the gold mind." Phoenix joked as he quickly scribbled out a couple messy letters. His smiled never wavered, despite her getting closer to winning.
"Hey, I'm doing better. I doubt there's any in there but U?" Cicada asked him with hopeful eyes. She would probably go for the more common letters next. Like l, n, m, p, r, t, s.
