"no, not for a long while." Jas replied with a grin. He found a light t-shirt and jeans at the bottom of his bag. "So not too far but a nice drive through the area." Jas reasoned, sitting down beside Connor and leaning down to press a kiss his head. "I can't wait. And food on the way definitely sounds great." He stood from the bed with his clothes and arched a challenging eyebrow at Connor. "How much more do you want to see, my love? Is not having a shirt on not enough for you?" He laughed softly and pressed a sweet kiss to Connor's lips. "I think you got enough of a peek last time. I'm not sure you can handle anymore." He taunted with a grin, gently pulling back and heading towards the bathroom. "I'll be out in a few minutes." He called over his shoulder, giving Connor one last longing look before dissapearing inside and shutting the door behind him.
Suni gave a long, annoyed whine but eventually dropped his head back onto Damion's arm. "Fine, I'll stop asking." He pouted childishly, testing his hot chocolate again and taking an eager sip, deeming it just cool enough not to burn hima anymore. He welcomed the warmth it brought, needing something distract from the fact that he was cuddled up with Damion. More than that, to distract himself from just how much he liked it. He glanced up and shook his head slightly. "No, I don't think any of that is a bad thing. "He replied softly. "I…" He bit his lip, contemplating whether if admitting his desires now would cause him regret. He shoook his head quickly, "I want that too. I want to stay…but I can't. As much as I love spending time with you and as much as I really want this to work, I also want to do things right. I want to take our time and I need to organize my thought about all this before we see each other again." He explained softly. "I'd feel better knowing we left off on a good note, and excitedly await our next dates than wake up tomorrow in your bed and feel any amount of shame or regret." He looked away for a moment before taking a deep breath. "You can show me anything you wish next time, and any time you want after that. And I'll show you some things too. Who knows, maybe I'll throw in a few surprises." He teased, gently nudging Damion's shoulder. "I'm glad you feel safe and warm around me. I feel like that too, like I don't have to hide who I am or or feel badly about myself with you. You're someone I want to spend more and more time around the more I get to know you."
"I could so handle more of you!" He yelled. When the door was shut, and all was said, Connor melted into the sheets, the touch of Jas's lips lingering on his. "God, he's so attractive. Thank you, the universe, for sending me someone so perfect." He got excited like a little girl who got a phone call from her crush. Sure they've kissed and touched, but the way Jas teased him made him want more. Of course, something like that wouldn't happen for a while, which he respects. Connor sat up from the bed and practically skipped to wear his bag was while he figured out something to wear. Connor pulled on some loose shorts that ended just at his knee. He put on a floral flannel and combed his hair down the best he could. So it wasn't sticking in 12 directions but only six. He put on sneakers since they would be walking and driving for quite some time.
Damion blushed, realizing it seemed like he implied. However, he didn't say anything about however because the subject was left behind. "Y-Yes, I would like it very much if we left on a good note. I-" The oven beeping cut him off, and he sighed. "I'll be right back. Let me go get that." Damion places his cup down on the coffee table in front of them. He shuffled over to the oven and opened it to see if the bread was good. Damion took it out using an oven mitt and put it on the stove. He put the bread onto a small march and jogged back to the couch. "Let's hope I didn't mess this up. Otherwise, that would be bad, and you still wouldn't know how to make good bread." Damion sat down next to Suni and turned towards him. "I didn't mean to imply anything sexual. I swear that's not my intention. I truly do want to get to know you more and vice versa. I want you to know that I want to do this right." He handed a piece of bread to Suni, insisting he tries it.
Jas chuckled lightly as he got into the shower. He took his time taking his shower, letting his senses neutralize and the rest of his body wake up. He tipped his head into the water, ears flicking about to get them clean. After the shower, Jas dressing in his shirt and jeans, nothing too fancy but he at least though they looked nice. Once he dried his ear and hair and once he brushed out the snags, he came back out of the bathroom and dropped his used clothes in a separate pile. He smiled softly and strode over to Connor, gently tugging him into an embrace. He combed through Connor's hair and tried to flatten down the rest of the spiky hair. "Are you going to let it grow out again?" He asked softly, only stepping back when he was satisfied.
Suni jumped a little when the oven timer went off. He reluctantet Damion getbup, though almosr immediate he felt colder. "I'm positive you didn't mess anything up. Bread or date wise. I've learned plenty from you and I'll definitely be trying this again, even if this isn't up to your standards." He laughed softly and glanced up when Damion came back and happily settled beside him. "I hadn't meant to imply you would try anything like that but waking up to thought that we might have isn't something I want to do either." He smiled softly and gratefully took the slice of bread. He bit into the soft slice and marvelled at at how buttery it felt. He nodded slightly, glad that Damion understood. "Thank you, Damion. Really. You're the only person i've dates I genuinely want to get to know more of and explore our relationship."
"Oh-hello to you too." He was surprised by the sudden pull toward his lover. Connor shook his head silently. "Maybe. I quite like it short. It's much easier to handle. It'll spike up again, so it doesn't matter whether you flatten it. I think of it as a connection to my past. I've had long hair or grown it out, cut it, and then grew it out for most of my lives. I like the change, and I'd rather not be tied to all those questionable things I've done over my lifetimes. Yes, I know that there were some great memories and places I got to see, but I want to focus on them now. My future lives with you and everything that you are. I know it's stupid, but it's just how I see it." He held Jas by the waist. "You look amazing. I'm fortunate." He kissed Jas's cheek and slid his hand up Jas's shoulder, then down to his hands. "A kiss for the road?"
"That's reassuring, knowing I didn't screw anything up." He took some bread as well. The bread was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. A lot like Suni in a way. This thought made him laugh, so he decided to keep it to himself. "There's no need to thank me. I only speak what I believe to be the truth." He leaned back on the cushions of the couch. Damion opened his arms, hoping Suni would come back into his arms. The bread was warm, but Suni was much warmer. "Is the bread good? I think it tastes great, but your opinion would be much more appreciated."
“Hm, hi darling.” Jas purred, pausing his adjusting of Connor’s hair and glancing down at him. No thinking about Connor’s words, he did understand his decision. With new lives came new experiences and changes. If cutting off his hair meant that Connor was turning over a new leaf in his life and didn’t to have as much association with their past lives, then Jas would honor that. He supposed that he was doing similar with keeping things that reminded him of Winston such as the photos or the wedding bands, though Jas was sure he wasn’t ready to let those go just yet. Even in death and lives between them, Winston meant far too much for Jas to let go. He wasn’t ready to let his first husband go, nor did he want a separation between them all.
He looked down at Connor and gave a soft grin. “I’ve told you before, sweetheart. Nothing you do with meaningful reason is not stupid. If it means something to you, them know I’ll support you, no matter how outlandish.” He pressed a kiss to Connor’s brow and closed his eyes as Connor traced his shoulders and took his hands. “For the road,” He repeated, lacing his hands with Connor’s and gently pinning him against the wall. He dipped his head down and brushed his lips against Connor’s, drawing out a sensual kiss for a few moments. His eyes fluttered shut as he pressed in a little closer, letting himself revel in the fact that Connor was here, with him, with nothing keeping them apart. He broke away to catch his breath but, like in each life they shared, never left his beloved hero’s side. “And for the rest of eternity.” He promised, back away a few moments later and nodding towards the door.
Suni watched Damion as he munched away at the bread.”I like it a lot. Tastes better than anything we buy in the stores.” He tilted his head when Damion opened his arms, debating whether this as a good idea. He dismissed the thought before he could make a mistake and bit the bread in his mouth. He sat up straight and shifted into his fox form before wading through the pillows and blankets and curling up comfortably beside Damion, head and front paws contently dropping onto Damion’s lap. He looked up at him with large emerald eyes just to make sure Damion as alright with a fox in his personal space before going back to tearing at his bread bun between his black paws.
Connor was expecting a little peck on the lips, but he got more than he asked for. However, he wasn't complaining. His body felt like jelly. The touch of his delicate hands and the feeling of the wall were still present on his back and hands. His were hazy when he opened them. "Huh? Uh, yeah." Connor nodded in agreement. He took Jas's hand and opened the door. Connor blinked a few times and took a deep breath. "You're not allowed to kiss me like that from now on. Two times now, you have made me feel…a certain way. So, you can't kiss me like that anymore." He huffed as he pressed the button for the elevator. "When I said a kiss for the road, I meant a pec on the lips, not a push-against-the-wall kiss to make my knees weak. Now you're going to have me thinking of it all day. Maybe not all day because I have a job to do, but you know what I mean."
"I'm glad you like it. Hopefully, you know how to make it, and you weren't too distracted by anything." Damion gasped and hugged the fox on his lap. "You're so soft. I could fall asleep on you." He stroked his fur, making sure not to get any bread crumbs on Suni. Damon's hand rubbed Suni's head and under the chin. Occasionally he would glide his hand down to the rest of Suni's body but mostly stayed at the top. "Are you comfortable? Anywhere you want me to scratch." He finished his bread bun and wiped his hands afterward. I really don't understand how this could send people running. I could hug you and lay with you all day like this. I could lay on this couch all day with you on my lap. Maybe watch a movie. Make some tea. Play a few video games here and there." He listed.
Jas quickly grabbed a light jacket before stumbling out of the hotel room after Connor, also a bit disoriented by the kiss. "Oh? What sort of certain way, sweetheart?" He cooed, chuckling softly when he saw how flustered Connor was. "Darling, I had once promised to kiss you senseless. I never said that was a one time thing." He grinned and gently pulled Connor closer to his side. "Besides, you should have specified beforehand. But I'll ask next time. Wouldn't want anyone else seeing how beautifully red you turn whenever I kiss you, would we?" Jas frowned slightly at the mention of the mission later that day but tried his best to not let it damper the mood. "Consider it a good luck kiss then." He gave Connor one more squeeze before letting him go when the elevator door opened.
Suni squealed in surprise when he was scooped up but quickly settled into Damion's arms. He wiggled about and snickered when Damio petted him, nearly losing all feeling when his head and chin were scratched. He gave a low growl of appreciation and nudged his head into Damion's hands. He liked the idea of relaxing with Damion and just being comfortable with another person. There wasn't an expectation to do anything if they didn't want to and to Suni that was a relief.
Connor looked at Jas with wide eyes and pressed the first floor to the elevator. "Wh-What do you mean that wasn't a one-time thing? It was part of our deal. I'm not complaining, so I don't really mind when you kiss me like that. It's just surprising sometimes. P-Please, I do not turn red; that's all a part of your imagination." Connor poked Jas's forehead playfully. He leaned against the elevator and watched the floor number decrease. "Since you said it, thank you. I'll try my best on the mission tonight. I will come home to you safe and sound." He folded his hands in front of him, deeply thinking about what he should show Jas. There was so much, and he didn't even know where to begin. He sighed hopelessly. I guess I'm winging it.
Damion looked out the window. It didn't feel like they had been lying there for long, but the sun had begun to set. He kissed Suni's head, placing his empty mug on the table. "I think it's time to get you home. Which also means it's time for the surprise. So now you can stop wondering about it because somehow I feel like it's been on your mind." he joked. Damion felt like he was talking Suni's ear off at this point. He had yet to change back, and it had been only him talking for a while. Damion felt terrible for saying so many things over a few hours. He started to think he had overshared, and the thoughts wouldn't stop flowing. However, his face hid it well as if there was nothing wrong.
“There wasn’t a deal if I recall. Only the promise that I’d kiss you senseless if I ever got out of that cell. I never did specify the amount of times that’d happen.” He mused, grinning like he had just won the lottery. He chuckled warmly and caught Connor’s wrist. “You do,” he insisted, pressing a kiss to the back of Connor’s hand before following him out of the elevator. “You turnt he most beautiful shade of blush whenever I show affection.” He cooed, glancing up when they left the hotel building and blinking rapidly at the sunlight. He smile softened as he gently tugged Connor to his side and placed a kiss to his temple. “Thank you, my dear. I pray that everything’s goes right tonight.” He looped their arms together as they walked through the hotel resort, taking in the scenery as much as he could now that he wasn’t half asleep and jet lagged. “This is nicer than I first thought.” He noted, looking out onto the beach and boardwalk, now filled with residents and tourists alike instead of like the night before where it had been nearly empty. "Where are we off to first, my love?"
Suni trilled in appreciation at affectionately nudged his head against Danion's cheek. He huffed a small sigh in slight disappointment before he reluctantly got off of Damion's lap and shifted back to normal. He chuckled lightly and stood off of the couch, holding the mug in his hands. "It has been." He admitted softly, "you can't just tell someone there's a surprise and expect them not to wonder." He teased lightly, shuffling to the kitchen and setting the cup in the sink. "Do you mind if I take some of the rolls?" He asked.
"I wanna show my family. They'll be glad to know a date went well. And of course about you."
"W-Well, if that's how it went-" He huffed. "Why are you looking at me like that? What are you so happy about, mister." he rolled his eyes and leaned his head on Jas's shoulder as they walked. "I do not blush. It's just I forgot my sunscreen, so that's why my face is red." This was a transparent lie as he put on sunscreen before getting dressed. "Yes, Florida is beautiful, filled with douchebags, but beautiful. Then again, doesn't everywhere have a handful of bad people—enough about that. As for where we're going, well, first the parking lot and then to my home town. As for what I want to show you there…I want to show you everything, but I don't think that's possible with our time. Actually…I know where to go." He smirked as they entered the parking lot. He took the keys out of his pocket and listed to the Jeep sound. "Are you driving, or am I?"
He stood up from the couch. "Well, if it's a surprise for long enough, they might just forget about it. You never know. Maybe I was hoping you would forget about it so it could be an extra surprise." he joked. He quickly looked toward Suni with a blank face before it grew slightly red. "You want to tell your family about me? Ye-Yeah, um, take as many as you like. The more people enjoy my food, the better." he brought over the plate full of the bread buns and put them into a container. "Here you are. I assume you don't have a jacket right? Considering your still wearing mine."
Jas laughed as Connor became more and more flustered. He pressed a kiss to his temple, truely happy to be with his beloved in this life, so much so that his heart swelled with joy. "You are a terrible liar, my heart." He teased, nudging Connor's head affectionately. He tilted his head back and forth, "yes I do suppose that is true. In all the places I've lived, in any life, there's always people who seem to be there just to piss you off. But I feel like life is filled with more good than bad, even if it doesn't seem like that sometimes." He shrugged and let Connor go so he could walk to the passenger side of the car. "You're driving. I'm not that great at managing a car. Besides I don't even know where we're going. I want the adventure to be a surprise too." He added, hopping into the driverside of the car and immediate rolling down the window to let the slightly less stifling air into the car.
Suni beamed up at Damion as he handed him the plate of bread rolls. "You're sure? I don't want to take so many if you don't have enough to enjoy." He said, looking at the bread rolls and already imagine how his family would love the bread and hearing about Damion. He managed out a small thank you before ducking his head and blushing. "Y-yeah, but I'll give it back soon! When we get back home, promise."
(don't remember if I sent this already but have a song that I think sorta describes Connor and Jas and their lives together. At least their lives before they got together.
https://youtu.be/wG7zyvXhl8M )
(I think you have sent it before, but then again, my memory is not all that good. it's a wonderful song!)
"Alright," He complied and started the car. He put on his sunglasses, so the road would be visible and not blocked by the sun. Connor turned the radio on for some ambiance and opened the other window closest to him. Like that, he pulled out of the driveway, and they were on their way. He hands one hand on the wheel and the other on Jas's thigh. "I have a question. It might seem silly, and you might laugh, which is perfectly understandable, but…" He trailed off and paused so he could form his words. "Do you think the bird is fake, specifically pigeons? I need a serious answer, and I'll tell you why I think what I think about birds once you give me your answer. I need a reason too. Like a good, hard reason."
Damion nodded. "I'm positive. You and your family can have as much as they want." He was slightly upset that their date was coming to a close, but they both agreed to take it slow. This was the way to do that. "Well, then that means even if you don't want to go on another date with me, you'll have to give me back my container at some point in time, right? Which means we'll meet again soon." He took the coat from the hanged and pulled his arms through the sleeves. "Oh! I almost forgot!" He dug around in his pockets until he pulled out his phone. "Do you mind if I get your number? I didn't want to ask Connor for it since I figured that would be rude and invasive on your part."
Jas toyed with Connor's fingers as they left the parking area and set off towards Connor's hometown. He tilted his head curiously ears flicking up in amusement and intrigue. He groaned with a laugh and shook his head "darling, please tell me you're not one of those conspiracy buffs that think the world is flat and bird are government spies. I can almost guarantee you that bird are real. In the many lives that I've been desperate enough to hunt said birds, I've never bit into an anamatronic before." He reassured, patting Connor's hand. "Of all people, I'd think you'd have a better understanding of our feathered friends, considering you do have wings. But please, do indulge me, my heart. What's your reasoning for thinking pigeons are government spies?"
Suni laughed softly and flicked the hood over his head and ears. "That is true, but I don't think this will be out last date. I've really enjoyed this and I'd like to go out with you again." He said shyly, jumping a bit when Damion pulled out his phone with a yell of excitement. The fox shook his head and found his phone in his back pocket. "Go ahead, I don't mind at all. And thank you, for asking me instead if Connor or Jas." He unlocked his phone and handed it to Damion with his phone number on the screen. "Feel free to text or call whenever you want. If I don't answer right away I'll probably get back to you later at night. Oh and if you find any strange texts, those are probably from Sasha." He shook his head with a laugh. "She likes to steal my phone from Time to time."
(I tried to write a response in class, but I couldn't write it with a straight face, so I'm going to do it when I get home XD)
"Okay okay, here me out alright." He leaned forward while turning the car. "You know how a bunch of birds was stolen by the government. Especially pigeons. That's why they don't wable when they walk. What if they're not robots but like people turned into pigeons. Have you ever thought about that? It's possible too. I mean you can shapeshift, I can shapeshift, a lot of other people can shapeshift. Come on, it's pretty convincing. Just look at the signs you know?" Connor leaned back in the chair switching his gaze from the road to Jas. "I think I make a very compelling argument. Wait you ate birds before? Like you hunted and then ate the bird you shot out of the sky?" Connor imagined Jas shooting birds down with a hunting rifle or a bow and arrow. Then he quickly erased his thoughts when he found he was clutching Jas's leg a bit too hard. Not because he thought it was bad, but because of another reason.
He made the contact and passed Suni's phone back to him. "I sent you a text saying it's me. I'll make sure to keep that in mind. Is Sasha your friend or sibling?" He asked opening the door for Suni. "She sounds like quite the bundle of joy." He adjusted the cuffs of his coat and prepares his hand for the cold winds. Even though it was summer he still found the winds at night to be chilling. Damion always got cold easily. Whether he was just coming out of the pool or a rainstorm on a sunny day. He always had some type of layer on.
Jas stared at Connor with a look of complete disbelief on his face as he listened to his beloved about his conspiracy. "Sweetest of creatures, the love of my lives, and my heart and soul, know that I would never judge you for your beliefs. But this a bit ridiculous." He tried his best not to laugh. "While I can admit, I do see, somewhat, your view, I don't think the government took bird to disguise them as people or vice versa. I can't tell you where people like us come from though, it's just been something we've known since forever I guess." He thought for a few more moments before shrugging and tilting his head towards the wind coming in through the window, breathing in the fresh smell if the tropics. "I did indeed, though not the way you're describing." He glancing down at his leg and at Connor's hand with a slight arch if an eyebrow. "I hunted as a cat in many of my lives, mostly for survival until I could find a safe home and meal."
Suni smiled and immediately made Damion into a contact into his phone, naming the contact. "Damion the cute guy I like"
"Sasha is our sister. Oldest one out of the three siblings." He explained with a proud smile as he walked through the door. "Oh she is, but she has dad's reckless that makes her all the more loveable. I got more of mom and Jas is a combination of both. The three of us are a rag tag group of mischief maker sibkings but I wouldn't want it any other way. I love them all."
"It makes perfect sense. Pigeons are watching our every move. I'm being serious with you." Although his words sounded like he was being serious, his giggles and laughs in between words didn't make it very convincing. "One hundred percent facts, truthful statements I'm making here, okay?" He stopped at the red light and gasped. "Aww, that's so cute! I can imagine your little paws and everything. Even if you were a big cat that's still cute, I would be able to hug you, lay on you, and snuggle with you. Even though I would probably have cat hair everywhere I know, that doesn't matter! I wish I could've seen you then." He leaned over the center consul and kissed Jas on the lips. It was quick because the light turned green shortly after.
His apartment building was easy to leave. He followed Suni so he would know which ways to turn. It was a good thing that Suni lived in the direction of where he wanted to go. He listened to Suni talk about his sister and his other siblings. "Your family sound fun. I hope I can meet them at some point in time. Not any time soon, of course, but you know…" He trailed off, clutching the hand warmer in his pocket. "Are you okay being in the cold? Do you want my jacket, or we could always stop at a cafe for a bit and then continue walking? Of course, it's just a suggestion if you need it. I don't want your family worrying about you because you came home later than usual.
Jas just shook his head with an amused smile plastered on his face. "Very well, I believe that you believe there are bird people made by the goverent sent here to watch over us. That's not to say what you believe is right though." He shrugged shyly, "I still do hunt from time to time. My form hasn't really changed for lives now so you're not missing out on much." He pecked Connor on the lips sweetly, a laugh bubbling up. It felt nice, really nice to talk nonsense with Connor. "You're more than welcome to cuddle with me, human or cat form, anytime you wish, dear."
Suni blushed but nodded. "Yeah, I'm sure they'd love to meet you. And I'd love for you to meet them. Has Connor told you about them after Jas took him to meet them?" He asked curiously, leaning against Damion for warmth. "I'm okay, still warmth from the shower." He reassured, shaking his head. "Keep the jacket, you seem to need more athan me." He chuckled lightly and tilted his head curiously. "Is this our attempt to prolong out date?" He asked, looping his arm with Damion's.
"It's definitely possible, though." He thoughts for a moment. "Well, if you have a big firm that's way bigger than me, it would be so warm, and your heartbeat would be so loud. It would feel amazing. Of course, you probably can't do that." He noticed the sign they passed and got off the exit of the highway they were on. "Here we are." He leaned forward and put to hands on the wheel. He had to drive slow even though there were no signs there were always kids playing soccer and tackling each other. After all, he used to be one of those kids. He continued to drive through the same down that had dirt roads.
There wasn't enough money to have actual concrete roads, so they had dirt ones instead. "We're going to have a buy a change of clothes and towels, so let's go to the store first. I should've brought them with us, but this was a short-term decision." He parked next to the shop and kissed Jas on the lips before leaving the car. "I'll be back in just a second," Connor spoke to the cashier in Spanish as he pointed to towels and some other clothes. He gave a half bow and waved, jogging out of the shop. "Alright, alright, I got the stuff, now we can go to the place. You probably already know what it is. It's not fancy like the one at the hotel, but it was special to me as a kid, so here we are." Connor hopped back into the jeep and started the car.
"That sounds wonderful." He grinned and looked ahead. The place where he wanted to go was coming up soon. He smiled when Suni linked their arms together. He looked in the other direction slowly. "What…I don't know what you're talking about….tch I would never…mmm yeah, I was, but hey, the more important this is that you're warm. They had walked closer and looked dark, so the surprise wasn't up just yet. He turned towards Suni taking his hands. He turned him away from the surprise and "Okay, okay, we're here, but I have to cover your eyes. Is that okay?" He didn't want just suddenly to block his eyesight.
"I'll be sure to let you know first if I ever become a giant cuddoy cat." He laughed, flicking his gaze towards the sign. He tilted his head curiously as he rolled up the windows to keep the dust from getting into the car. "You grew up around here?" He asked softly, nodding when Connor said they'd stop by the store for a moment. He kissed Connor sweetly before looking up at the small store front. It felt nice, to know that Connor grew up here, clearly happy despite what he had mentioned about his family. He stared up att he sky and watched as children ran by with a ball, some pausing by the jeep to stare at him and his ears in awe. He turned when Connor came back and went to point out the kids to him but they had already ran off giggling and tossing the ball between them. "It's more lively around here, I like it." He decided, peeking at what Connor had bought. "I'm assuming another beach? I don't mind if it's fancy or not. If it's something that's important to you then that's all that matters."
Suni laughed when Damion started to ramble and stutter. "It's alright," he reassured "I don't want it to end either." He rested his head against Damion's shoulder for a moment. "I'm warm, probably more than you right now." He looked up a bit startled before he realized what Damion was doing. He cocked his head slightly, scanning the area a bit. He didn't like being alone in the dark, not after far too many close calls with dangerous people. But he trusted Damion. Or at least he really wanted to. Shoving down the instinct to turn and run, he nodded slowly. "Y-yeah. It's okay." He sucked in a deep breath and closed his eyes just so he wouldn't be at risk for ruining the surprise himself
"Yes, I did grow up here. It's small and not that rich, but it's felt more like home than any family I've been a part of." He hummed, giving a questionable look to Jas. "Well, it's not exactly a beach perse." He smirked and pulled into a more green part of the little town. Trees and very healthy grass filled this part. He drove for a little longer before parking. It wasn't parking because the road wasn't a road. He got out of the car and tucked the key into his bag. "Alright, ready?" He moved to the other side of the jeep where Jas was sitting. "We just have to walk a bit more before reaching the place."
"Okay…don't be scared. I'm not going to hurt you or anything like that." He places his hands over Suni's eyes. He walked Suni forward, and the light winds stopped. He took his hand off Suni's eyes, but it was still dark around them. There was water running next to them, and the breeze from outside shook the leaves on the vines surrounding them. I know it might be a little hard to see me, but I'm right here." Damion held Suni's hands gently. "They should be coming on in 3, 2, 1." Just like that, the lights came on, and the fountain they were standing next to started to create a beautiful shape as it poured from layer to layer. The yellow fairy lights shined on the many different types of flowers. The space was more open than it felt. The moon and starlight reflected in the fountain's water gave it the sparkle needed. There was much more to this city garden, but this is what Damion wanted to show Suni right now. "I know it might be small and insignificant, but I always thought surprising someone like this would be nice. Not many people get to see this place. It's not one of the main gardens in the city, but it should be. So what do you think?"
Jas' eyes softly slightly in sadness when Connor mentioned not feeling as if he had a family in any of his past lives. "Well I'm glad in this life you found someplace to call home." He gently laced their hands together and pressed a soft kiss to the back of Connor's before letting him for drive. He watched out his window as the small villages merged into forest and fields of wild grasses, the sweet smell of a recent rain filling his senses. He glanced over when they finally parked and tilted his head curiously but said nothing as he got out of the car."I'm ready." He replied, taking Connor's hand and looking at him. "You're enjoying this, aren't you sweetheart?" He teased, pressing a kiss to the corner of Connor's mouth.
"I'm not sca-" despite his protest, suni still stiffened slightly when Damion's hands cover his eyes. he willed his legs to move forwards, ears always flicking about to catch any sound that might be a threat. Instead of sensing another person, suni soon heard the soft trickle of water. He chewed his lip nervously when he felt Damion's hand fall away, thinking for a moment he had left before he felt his warm hand in his. Suni gently squeezed back before slowly opening his eyes. "Oh…" He breathed, slowly taking in the his surounding, the beautiful park, the spring fountain now illuminated by twinkling lightly. He knew the heavens were real, after all that's where his mother temporarily resided, but he honestly couldn't think of anything more beautiful than this. This is gorgeous," he finally managed out after a few moments of stunned silence, a delerious, joyfilled laugh escaping him. "how did you find a place like this?" He asked, tearing his attention away from the fountain to look at Damion.
"Yes, I am enjoying this very much." He leaned against the car and pulled Jas close to him by his collar. "You cannot just kiss the corner of my mouth and walk away like that. Not fair; I won't tolerate it." His hand slid around Jas's neck. Connor was feeling bold today, maybe because he was in his hometown. Either way, he vowed he would never be this bold again. It was way too embarrassing for him. "Besides, we have all the time in the world….sort of." He laughed and pressed his forehead to Jas's. Connor smirked and kissed the lips he missed so much back at the hotel. He held the body of the person he longed for the most. He felt so warm; letting go didn't seem like an option.
"Funny story, I was running from one of Connor's villains. They knew that I was close to him, and they tried to chase me, so I turned down an alleyway and found this place. It was dark for a while because it was daytime, and honestly, this place was such a maze. I couldn't tell where I was going until the lights turned on, and I almost fell into the fountain. I promised myself that one day I would bring someone here. I wanted to share this place with someone else. The owner who takes care of this place is also lovely. He's old, but he said I could look after the garden since I often come here. Either way, it was still a lucky find. I'm glad you like it. Honestly, it was a bit nerve-wracking bringing you here. I felt like you would think it's lame, or maybe you weren't a plant person. You know? I wanted it to be good enough. Is it good enough?" He chewed on his lower lip to touch one of the flowers next to him to distract his sightline.
