Connor shook his head. "That is a secret. It's about something that we would do way into the future. Maybe even in our next life when you're not wanted almost everywhere in America. When that time comes, I think it might just be the happiest day of my life. I just wanted to let you know, that I didn't have a nightmare or anything like that." He leaned his head against the window and stared at the street lights and the upcoming parking lot. "Maybe I'll tell you after my mission. Think of that as a promise. When I get home we'll lay together and you can kiss me till I fall asleep and we'll fit my dream into there somehow." Connor grinned.
Jas glared ayfully at his beloved "so you're going to leave me here all night, all alone, anticipating your return and your wonderful dream?" Jas shook his head but a smile crossed his face. "I swear on all my lives, if you don't come back, I'm holding that over your head for the rest of time." He teased, carefully parking the jeep and turning off the car. "I can't even get a hint as to what your lovely mind had fantasized about? Just to hold this poor kitty over until your safe in my arms again?" He begged, reaching over and gently brushing a hand along Connor's cheek, finding him to be the one of the most beautiful people, not just now with the sun setting behind them, but in all of time. "I don't know if I can wait a lifetime to fulfill all the little fantasies i've been thinking of all this time." He nearly whispered, leaning in and pressing a soft kiss to Connor's brow.
"Yes, kitty, I am. I guess I can't die, huh. Don't worry. I'll come back to you, safe and sound." He grinned, shaking his head. "No, you can't have a hint. I said what I said. Now you have to wait. It just makes the wait even better, you know?" Connor smiled, leaning into his soft touch. "What do you mean? What fantasies have you been cooking up with that brain of yours? And as much as I love you have touched my skin, you will not tempt me to tell you, darling." Connor kissed his head before getting out of the car and walking toward the elevator. Connor's hair had managed to calm down on the ride to the hotel.
“Better? Perhaps as a form of entertainment for you my heart, but for me this only means more hours of torture.” Jas whined as he turned off the car and got out to follow Connor back into the hotel building. “Ah, ah, ah my love. How could I tell you my thoughts hen you refuse to tell me yours? I need something to satiate my constant need to stay by your side.” He teased, though as they got closer to their room, worry started to settle in. He tried his best to push those anxieties away, not wanting to worry both himself with terrible what if’s, and to reassure Connor that he’s be alright alone in the hotel while he went off on his mission. “I promise to tell you all my dreams if you do the same when you come back home.” He reasoned, following Connor into the elevator and gently tugging him into a hug. “While I’m not thrilled about much of this little mission, I am interested in seeing you in a dress.”
Connor nodded. "I suppose your right. I guess that means we both have something to look forward to." Connor was a bit surprised when Jas pulled him into a hug. However, he didn't hesitate when hugging him back and nuzzling his head into Jas's neck. Jas was warm, just like he always was. "I know-wait what?" He pulled back slightly, looking at Jas. "So you're interested in seeing me in a dress, huh." He nodded slowly. "Okay, okay, if you like what you see, maybe I can wear a dress when we go on a fancy date. I mean, I do love wearing dresses and skirts sometimes…" He pressed the button to their floor and pressed his lips to Jas's. "Mmm, but only sometimes…not often." He mumbled against Jas's lips.
Jaz shrugged with a lazy smile. "I wouldn't mind seeing you in dresses and skirts if it's something you enjoy wearing. Who knows, maybe I'll partake in a bit of cross dressing too." He pured at the kiss, pouting cutely, "only sometimes? And when would those sometimes be?" Jas asked, lips brushing against Connor's in a soft kiss. He glanced up as the elevator came to a stop at their floor. "I suppose now would be as good as any time."
"You in a skirt…" He thought for a moment, trying to picture it. He then laughed to himself. "You would look cute." Connor kissed back with a growing smile on his face. "Those sometimes would be whenever I feel more feminine than usual. My go-to shoes are those high heels that you see me where all the time in my hero uniform. It feels weird to call it a costume. So whenever I feel like it. Why would you like it to be more often? Is there something you're trying to say?" Connor tugged him out of the elevator and started walking toward their room at the end of the hall.
Jas noddd as he followed Connor to their room, laughing softly "maybe," he drawled "I'm just thinking the same as you. You'd look very cute in a skirt or dress. Just as you look lovely in anything else." He swiped the card to their room and strolled in, already feeling as if the room was too large for him alone. "I had always wondered how you managed to move around with those on." He mused with a light laugh, plopping done onto the bed
"Mmmm, did you now?" He pressed a slow kiss to Jas before disappearing into the shower. The shower didn't take long because he was not only in a rush, but his showers weren't usually that long. He unpacked the long red dress with a cut going up to his thigh out of his bag. Connor took all of his stuff to the bathroom. He made multiple trips in his little white towel, giving smiles to Jas as well. Connor then disappeared for longer in the bathroom than before. It took him a while to get ready for events like these. He needed to hide guns and knives under his dress. He pulled on thigh-high socks and attached strapped to his undergarments so they wouldn't fall off. He slipped on the red dress, styled the wig, and got it ready. He then put on red bottom heels to match the red theme he was going for. Now that Connor had prepared his outfit, makeup and hair time took the longest. Then again, he had to rush because they got here a little late. Connor finished the wig and then moved on to his makeup. The makeup wasn't anything heavy, just some eye shadow and lipstick. Connor was about to exit the room, and he paused at the bathroom door, "Promise you won't laugh?" He patted down his red dress with crystals in the pattern of roses at the end of his clothing. It was a very grandiloquent cocktail dress. After all, Connor needed it for the occasion.
Jas purred softly at the kiss, leaning into Connor’s affection that was cut off far too short for his liking. He sighed softly, tempted follow Connor into the bathroom and do just about anything to convince him to stay. As much as he hated himself for it, Jas reluctantly stayed out of the bathroom. Instead of sitting still, Jas decided to be more or less responsible. He tidied around the hotel suit then changed into some comfortable pjs. He’d occasionally catch glimpses of Connor rushing back and forth between the bedroom and the bathroom. Jas leaned against the wall, grinning back as he watched Connor disappear behind the door. He smiled softly “Sweetheart, I would never laugh at you. Not to make you feel bad. If I do laugh its out of surprise and enjoyment at seeing you in such a lovely dress.” Jas walked in front of the door and lightly rested his hand on the door. “I’ll love you no matter how you appear.” He promised.
Connor took a deep breath in and nodded. "Okay…" He had done this many times before, but someone being so vulnerable in front of Jas made him nervous. He messed with his hair a bit as it was curly and long, down to his waist. He opened the door stepping out before quickly closing the door behind him. "Hey. Do you think the makeup is a bit too much? I mean, I wasn't sure how much to put on. Still, I think this is a good amount because every other time, I always put on some lipstick and nothing else, while others I use more, and then I'm not sure if it's good enough. I have to pass as a girl because sometimes the owners of the parties are homophobic, so I can't go in a suit. This is a stunning dress that matched my hair and is my the red look okay because I'm never sure if it's too much red or something like that…" He was ranting out of control and didn't stop to take a breath.
Jas' gaze flickered up when he heard the small click of the bathroom door open. A small 'oh' escaped him as he looked Connor over slowly, taking in his new appearance. He slowly closed the gap between then and ever so gently cupped Connor's face in his hands. "You look perfect, sweetheart." Jas murmured softly against his lips before pressing a tentative kiss to his lips, wanting to be careful not mess Connor's makeup. Although Connor looked more feminine than Jas had ever seen him dress, Connor was still Connor, his facial features only made more beautiful, his eyes popping against the eyeshadow. Jas shook his head with a strained laugh. "You're making it harder and harder for me to not keep you here all to myself." He murmured, pressing a soft kiss to Connor's brow. "I like your red hair more tho," he teased, gently brushing aside a stray blond curl. "Do you have everything you need?" He asked with a deep breath, taking a step away and looking around at their bedroom, checking to see if there was anything else Connor would need for the mission.
"Thank you. You really think so?" Connor wanted the kiss to last longer, but he knew it couldn't. The things he had to do. "I like my red hair better too, but it was the only spare one we had. I guess jake wasn't expecting my hair to be short." He pulled Jas back closer to him. "No, no I don't need anything else." He gave a breathy laugh. "Just you for a few minutes…" Connor hung his hand around Jas's neck. "I'm glad you like it though." He looked up to Jas despite being in heels. "Who gave you the right to be taller than me? Honestly, it's offensive. Until Jake knocks on that door we have time to just be for a while. So, with the few seconds you have with me, what would you like us to do? We could sit outside we could stay like this, we could do other things…" He trailed off his gaze turning to the wall.
"I'm most likely the worst person to ask an opinion on your looks but yes, dearest, I really do think you're beautiful." Jas reassured, gladly re-embracing Connor and pressing a kiss to Connor's head. He gave a soft smile, tucking Connor safely benearh his chin, silently promising a lifetime of warmth, of protection, and of undenyable love, just so long as Connor came back to him. He thought about begging Connor to stay again, but he knew the response would only be no again. He chuckled softly and nuzzled Connor's brow. "Oh boo hoo, you love being smaller. You fit perfectly with my body." He smirked and pressed a soft kiss to Connor's lips. He frowned slightly and nudged Connor's head. "You'll come back and we can continue whatever you'd like after. It's not just a few seconds." He said, trying to convince himself. He arched an eyebrow and tilted his head. "Other things, sweetheart?" He gave a surprised chuckle and shook his head. "What's that lovely mind thinking, hm heart?"
"You really think so?" Connor was happy to know that Jas liked him even when he looked like a girl. He didn't do well like this in front of people he knew. The first time he did this with Jake he was nervous. He grinned and slapped Jas's chest playfully, "So what if I fit perfectly and so what if I like it? You got a problem with that?" He squinted his eyes and smirked. "Oh, nothing, just something I've been wanting to do for a while." He whispered before kissing Jas's neck and cheek. Connor's red lipstick left marks all over him, but Connor wasn't really satisfied. He gave him a peck on Jas's forehead, the best he could with his height. He pecked all over his face and laughed when the kiss marks mixed together. "Much better. You should go out like this. Let everyone know you have a loving boyfriend."
"no, I definitely don't. Though you seem to always complain about being smaller." He laughed softly and tilted his head in intrigue. Jas' eye fluttered shut at the sensation of Connor's lips ghosting over his skin in soft kisses. He purred deeply at all the kisses, occasionally nudging his head against Connor's affectionately. "Now look what you've done." He chuckled lightly and gently tilted Connir's head so that their eyes met. "I was trying to not mess with your make up but I guess that's out the window now, huh?" He grinned, leaning in to kiss Connor tenderly, one hand moving to gently cradle Connor's head while the other stayed securely around his waist.
"Oh, please." He mumbled, leaning into the kiss. Jas was right. Their bodies fit perfectly together. Connor felt the grin from Jas, which made him shiver. Jas's hand was in the perfect place on his waist. He never wanted him to move it. Connor slips his hand over Jas's that rested on his cheek. Somehow it felt like a first kiss and a goodbye kiss simultaneously. As Connor tilted his head, the kiss made him feel like he was drowning in how Jas made him feel, mentally and physically. He could barely hear or feel anything else but Jas. When he pulled away for air, he longed for him more than the first time they ever kissed. Connor squeaked when a loud knock rang throughout the room. "I…I think it's time for me to go."
Jas pressed smaller kiss to Connor's skin when Connor broke away, desperate to keep Connor as close to his as possible for as long as possible. To hell with the mission, and to the very organization that put his love right in the middle of danger. "Connor…" Jas started, voice weak and pleading but he never got to beg for Connor to stay as a knock came to the door. He sighed softly and gently broke away. "Yeah, I'll bring Jake in while you fix yourself up." He said, not waiting for Connor's response before turning on his head and opening the door.
Connor reached out, wanting to know what he said, but he had a job to do. He went and freshened up like Jas had told him to do. Connor needed to get his head focused. He can't think about Jas right now. One wrong move. One wrong gesture, and he was dead. Connor walked into the bathroom and paused, looking at the mirror. It wasn't all too bad, just a little smug here and there. Besides, right now, that was the least of his worries.
Jake was straightening his suit and brushing off any dust he had. He looked up when Jas opened the door and was speechless. "Wow…u guys can't stay away from each other for one second." He smirked. "You got a little something, you know, everywhere." He chuckled and walked past Jas. "At least he put the red lipstick to use." He bumped his shoulder. "Where is he? We have to leave in like in a few minutes. he better not be taking forever in there, I swear." Jake pulled down his jacket and fixed his bowtie in the mirror by the door.
On any other day, or even earlier that day, jas would have given a snarky reply back or laughed off the jok but all his mind kept replaying were images of Connor's dead body in a casino. He inhaled deeply and watched Jake enter the room. "He's getting fixed up right now." He nodded towards the closed bathroom door. Jas settled on the edge of the bed and stared blankly at the wall across from him. "Bring him back home safe tonight, Jake, please." He dropped his voice and slowly turned his gaze toards Jake, making eye contact in the mirror. "Or I swear on my life that I will make this little mission look like child's play. Then your organization will truely have a problem. One they may not be able to fix for the rest of their existance." Jas slowly stood from the bead and disappeared into the kitchen to wash his face of the red lipstick
Jake turned around and gave him a silent nod. He knew what would happen if Connor were to get hurt. Jake had a feeling Jas wasn't kidding. He would probably burn the whole building down if he could, which he would. "I'll bring him home to you. I can't promise you that I will, but I will do everything to keep him alive and healthy. He walked to the kitchen and leaned against the counter. "Whatever you do, don't do anything stupid. You know what I mean by stupid."
Connor came out after fixing himself and making sure he looked presentable. He was surprised to see Jake and Jas in the kitchen. "Hey, What are you two talking about? You look very serious. Well, is it time to go? I'm sure our driver is waiting outside for us." Connor walked up to Jas and tucked a wet strand of hair behind his ears. "I think you looked cute with my kiss marks. I'll see you in a couple of hours, okay?"
Jas gave a rueful laugh and glared over his shoulder with a grin. "Believe me, anything I do will have intent." His expressions softened ever so slightly and his grin slowly faded. "Bring yourself home too. Despite what he might say and do, I think Connor really does care for you. After all this is over we call go for a round of drinks and explore a bit more before we head back to New York." He gave a smaller, hopeful smile and patted Jake on the shoulder. Jas looked back as Connor walked back into the room. He leaned into the gentle touch and pressed a quick kiss to his hand, then to his hair so as to not mess up the makeup. He nodded slightly. "Come back safe, the both of you, please." He said, looking between the two before taking a step back and motioning to the door.
They both nodded and made their way out the door arm in arm. Connor gave one last look before the door shut behind him. Connor looked at Jake and received a reassuring smile. We got this.
…
"We do not have this!" Connor yelled over the gunfire. "How the fuck did you get caught?" Connor growled and shot one guy in the leg. "Honestly, what did you do say hey, my name is Jake and I'm a spy?"
"Yeah kinda…."
"What do you mean kinda?" Connor looked at Jake in disbelief.
"He hypnotized me what did you want me to do?" Jake yelled back. They were even fighting in a time like this. Their relationship was questionable. Everything was going well for the first half. They weren't suspected and were treated like every other guest. However, when Jake went off on his own to investigate he was hypnotized into telling them just about everything. Then this happened. "Okay, just calm down. It's honestly not that bad.
Connor sighed and tried his best not to rip Jake's throat out. Suddenly the gunfire stopped. The whole place was a wreck. The machines that gave money were split in half and the door was almost broken entirely. The police showed up which means he could finally arrest the guy they game for. Connor stood up from behind his cover and walked over to the guy that he shot in the leg. "This was way too complicated. I swear you ever got caught again this guy is going to be you." He put a handcuff on him. Once that blocked his powers of course. Connor then started to walk him towards the police officer. However, there was a sniper who Connor didn't see. Nor did he notice and Connor's guard was down.
Has immediately felt a heavy weight settle in the pit of his stomach as the door closed behind the love of his lives. He got the morbid feeling that Connor in a stunning dress being led away by Jake would be the last he'd see of him until he awoke in another life.
…
As he had said before, to literal hell the organization. Jas has scrambled out the door of the hotel the moment he saw the local news flooded with reports on the recent attack at the city casino. He didn't give himself enough time to worry before he was sprinting out the door, ignore the yell of pain his limbs gave at shifting far too quickly. The only other time he had felt so desperate yet so unbelievably helpless was when Winston had died. The wedding bands at his throat clinked together in reminder of the one love he had the courage to make his own and then lost far too soon. He held back tears for his late husband and focused on getting to the casino. By the time he had reached the casino, he was no longer a house cat. Now he was massive lanky black cat, more whisps of smoke than a solid being. He remembered when he had first turned into this, the same day he had killed someone for the first time. They had never heard from the man who had attached Winston and Jas had made sure of it. He only prayed the same wouldn't happen again tonight. As he stalked forawards, he heard husged whispers from the police and crowd alike. "The Cheshire cat" wonderful, so he was known here as well. He slunk forwards before disappearing in a gust of smoke, reappearing on the clear glass rooftops of the casino for a better view. "Where are you Connor?" He scanned the area, his dread only growing as he spotted blood spattering the floors of the gambling hall yet no sign of his beloved
Connor was about to move when he heard a loud gunshot. He turned his head slowly to Jake, who stood up running, but it all seemed so slow. The guy took his chance to run for it, but the cop caught him and shoved him into the car. He couldn't move. He wasn't sure why until Jake looked at him and pointed to his chest. Connor would say something clever before realizing a bullet had shot through him. The said bullet was now lying on the ground in front of him. Honestly, he still wondered how he was standing. Everything felt like slow motion before reality kicked in. "Fuck-" He didn't get to finish his sentence because of the blood he started to cough up. He fell to the ground in which Jake caught him. Holding his head, Jake started to ask many questions that Connor could hear. "It's okay…it's okay, I'll be going home soon with you and Jas. We all get to have drinks together. Just like he promised." On the other hand, Jake was scrambling to put pressure on the wound, yelling for an ambulance.
