Jas chuckled softly as he watched Connor dash off towards the beach. Pulling off his shoes, Jas joined Connor oft he beach, reveling in the warmth of the sand mixed with the briney cool breeze if the ocean. He glanced up at the noon, breathing in deeply and scanning around the area, his nocturnal eyesight much better than in the daylight. He settled in the sand a few feet from where the ocean lapped at the shore, not as eager to get wet like Connor was. Jas had had his fill of terrifying moments in open ocean to last him lives. For now he'd admire from afar. He laughed lightly as connor inched back from the ocean. "Cold dear?"
"I'm stuck between fox and human for now. Shape shifting into other people or animals I think is more reserved for eight or nine tailed foxes. I'm not quite there yet." He dipped his head in a nod, "maybe not but some with powers wish they could be like you. Sometimes having abilities is a burden. Being normal seems like a relief to some." He glanced around before sliding into the booth by the window, shivering in the sunlight that passed through. "It's alright. I find it more award if we're both quiet." He chuckled lightly and took a peek at the menu, eyes widening when he saw the array of food they offered. "It all looks great. What do you recommend?"
—"Freezing cold, but the warm air helps a bit." Connor looked back at Jas behind him. He was worried since he was coming in the water with him or coming closer. "Hey, is something wrong?" He jogged over to Jas sitting next to him. "Do you just not like oceans?" Connor laid down with his back and hair covered in sand. He played with a pile of sand next to him, finding a small shell. The felt arouns the shell not really being able to see it properly.
"I find it awkward as well when there is silence. I like to fill it one way or another. As for recommendations, coffee Jelly is one of my favorites. Gram Crack Rice Pudding is also delicious, especially when you get the cinema gram crackers instead of regular ones. Lemon torta and Husk meringue are both delicious if you're looking for sweets and drinks. Any of the smoothies are amazing, strawberry, mango, peach, and many other simple flavors. I think that's what I like about this place. They have simple things for their sweets, and their smoothies are to die for. Even if you don't like sweets, they also have regular food like salad, fries, pizza, and any dinner food you can think of. Not any, of course, but all of the options I listed are pretty good. By the way, are you cold? If you want, you could borrow my hoodie. I'm not cold anyway. I have it just in case." He smiled, closing the menu.
Has shook his head with a warm smile "no sweetheart, nothing's wrong. This Kitty's just not fond of large expanses of water." He chuckled, watching as Connor settled beside him in the sand. He gently tousled Connor's hair, gently massaging his scalp while at the same time trying to shake out the sand. "It seems as if you've found a friend." He nodded towards Connor's side where a small hermit crab had latched itself onto Connor's shirt. He gently held the little crab in his hand, before felt yputting it down beside Connor.
Suni's cautious demeanor slowly lessened as he became more comfortable with both his surroundings and with Damion, especially when they started listing off all the delicious sounding sweets and drinks on the menu. Suni rested his chin on his hand as he scanned over the menu, ears flicking straight up at them mention of a strawberry smoothie, a favorite of his is. "Everything does sound good. Hard to pick just one but I think I'll take the Strawberry smoothie with Cinamon Graham Cracker rice pudding." He mused, bunching his lips to the side before looking up at Damion with a light blush on his cheeks. "I'm alright for now, thank you though. I might borrow it later when we leave. I hadn't realized how cold it'd be getting later in the day." He chuckled softly as he peejedout the window, shivering when he saw a breeze tussling the trees lining the sidewalks. "Jas and Connor must be loving Florida right now, huh?"
"it appears I did. It's so cute. I feel bad since I just ate seafood now." He watched the little crawl onto his stomach over his shirt. "Hey, buddy." his voice was sweet. He took a deep breath in, letting himself drown in his touch. "You don't have to worry about the sand. The more sand, the better because then I get to take you up on that offer when I caught you in the shower." He chuckled. "I can see why you like this so much. Lay down, let me give you some head rubs. I'll make sure the sand doesn't get in your cat ears when they pop out." Connor took the crab off of his stomach. "Sorry, little guy. You gotta go. It was fun while it lasted." He watched it stumble away before making grabbing motions with his hands.
"Of course, tell me when you're ready, and it's all yours. Sounds like a wonderful food choice, though. I assume strawberry smoothies are you're favorite, huh. I saw the way you looked up when I mentioned it. I come here so often that they know my usual already. It's a coffee jelly with whipped cream and a strawberry on top and a mango smoothie." Damion made eye contact with the waitress, letting her know they were ready to order. "I bet they're kissing and cuddling as we speak what I would do to go to Florida. Since I'm a cook, I don't usually go places or have business trips like Connor."
"I see you've brought someone with you. First time for everything, huh. What can I get you two?" Jessica bumped Damion on the shoulder and looked back to Suni. "Hey, I'm Jessica; you can call me Jessie, though. Nice to mean, and if you couldn't tell, I'll be your server today."
"Yes, Jessie, I have. You know what I get. You should be asking him what he wants." Damion's gaze shifted from Jessica Suni and smiled immediately.
Jas laughed in surprise "that is very true dearest." He replied, heat rising to his cheeks as he was reminded of his suggestion. "I didn't actually think you'd take me up on the offer." He admitted, watching Connor and the small crab on his stomach. He smiled softly "alright, look who's being needy now." Jas purred, leaning down close to Connor, lips brushing against his, but before he could give a proper kiss, jas shifted into a cat. He hopped up onto Connor chest, curling up against his neck. He gave a deep, rumbling pur as he rubbed his face against Connor's cheek.
Suni blushed and nodded "I didn't think you'd notice." He mumble, breathing a laugh. "Probably. I don't think those two would fair well if separated." His eyes grew soft for a moment, genuinely glad that Jas was finally able to be with Connor. "I would have imagine you did, after all you're as much part of the teaas my hero." He mused, tilting his head curiously. "Well have to go one day then. I hear it's great." He shrugged casually until the waitress came over. He averted his eyes and nodded, mumbling "nice to meet you too," before flicking his gaze to Damion only to find him smiling. Blush crept to his cheeks as Suni gazed back for a moment to long. "Uh- uhn yes! I-i'll have the-uhm…the strawberry smoothie and the Cinnamon Graham Cracker Rice Pudding, please."
"You're such a tease; you know that. He stroked Jas's cat hair. His fingertips were light with his left hand, and he scratched Jas's chin. "I have both hands free, so you got lucky. I usually pet you with one hand. Anywhere you have me to scratch that you couldn't get before?" He asked. He looked down as Jas would move with his chest, up and down. "You know I never pictured myself in a million years being with you like this. As cruel as that may sound, it's still true. However, I do like this. I especially like the way you get weak whenever I pet you like this. Like at the airport. I saw the way your knees grew weak. I enjoyed that very much." He reminisced.
Jessica nodded and wrote down the order. "Alright, you're drinks and food will be out in a second, cuties. I'll see you soon." She took the menus and walked off to the counter.
" Yeah, maybe one day and we can go together one day. Of course, not yet. I would also like to go to Japan, I think. You're right about them being apart. I think it depends on the situation, but enough about them. So, what do you usually do on days like this? I know you don't have the cleanest record, but I'm not going to hold you against it." He reassured, taking a sip from the glass of water put out for him before.
Jas' purrs melted into soft mewls of appreciation, his body going limp against Connor's hand as he leaned into the petting. He gave a Connor a lazy glare and mopped at his hand with an indignant meow. He settled against Connor's chest with his paws beneath him, occasionally licking Connor's hand. He didn't think he'd be here either. With how much Connor had avoided Jas' attempts at flirting and more than once had shown his hatred for the cat, he honestly thought he'd be pining from afar for more lives to come.
Suni nodded his thanks, offering a small smile. "She's nice." He smiled softly ears flicking at the mention of Japan. "I've heard it's beautiful. My mom was a kitsune from Japan. She used to tell us stories from there." His smile grew soft. "She would have liked this. She was a stickler for cute little places like this."
"You're too cute, Jas." He scratched softly behind his ears and under his jaw on both sides. "It's moments like these. I wish I could hear your thoughts. I would look like a crazy person who's talking to their cat on the beach, but it's worth it." He leaned forward and kissed Jas's forehead. "How are my petting skills? Did I improve?" He smirked. "Do my hands feel nice?" He stopped petting for a moment while stretched on the sand. The waves from the beach and the comfortable position he was lying in made him feel tired. "I could fall asleep on the beach if it wasn't hazardous. Once strong breeze, and you get a mouthful of sand." Connor scoffed.
"She is nice, isn't she. Honestly, she's unpredictable when you get to know her." He joked. "Then again, I'm like that too, in a way." He leaned forward on the table, his cheek resting on his hand. He watched Suni as he spoke, making sure to catch everything he said. "Really?" He frowned from the use of past tense but didn't want to assume anything. "I think your mom and my mom would get along quite well. Tell me more about her, and I'll see if my mom matches up." He grinned. Damion figured he should talk about anything too heavy since they just met. he felt it would be weird talking about something like that on a first date.
Jas' tail flicked back and forth as he leaned into all the pets and kisses, absolutely loving the attention. He meowed and kneaded his paws against Connor's shirt, as much of an answer he could give while in this form. He watched Connor and gave a small smile, gently licking his hand before hopping off his chest and shifting back to normal, only leaving his ears visible. "Let's head back, heart. You have a long night tomorrow." He murmured, standing and dusting himself off. "Am I going to have to carry you back?"
"really? Unpredictable huh?" Suni cooed, ears flattening against his head as Damion moved closer but other than that he refused to flinch back. Up a bit closer, Suni could see details he hadn't noticed before, like the dimples that appeared when Damion smiled, or how his eyes shifted in color slightly in the dimmer, cozier lighting of the cafe. Suni blinked and breathed a laugh. "While I have no doubt your mother is amazing, i'm not sure she could match up to a nine-tailed kitsune." He replied as gently as possible so as to not offend Damion. "Dad married a goddess essentially. Mom is a water kitsune and fell deeply in love with a mortal. They had two kids and adopted a stray cat. She's usually gone for years at a time now that we're all older but I don't think any of us hold that against her."
“I’ll take that as a yes, then. I would hope you like my pets, another wise I might have to take a course on how to please you,” he gave a third laugh watching as Jas shifted back. “If you want to, then yeah, take me away, my prince. If you're just as tired as I am, then don't worry about it.” Connor stood shaking off the sand. “Maybe laying down in sand was not the best idea. I need to shower when we get back to the hotel room. Do you want to take one with me, or am I soloing this one?” He dusted off his shorts the best he could. He held the flip flops he brought with them, holding out his free hand to Jas. “I think laying on the beach all night is perfect because I'm with you. But if you insist on going back then, I guess we can.”
“Your mom is very impressive. Not only is she beautiful, I mean…look at you. She also married your dad out of love, no matter what he was. Already on a better track than my mom.” Damion could see his ears go down and twitch at times. The sunlight perfectly captured Suni’s features. Even his hair seems to shine so naturally against it. He indeed was beautiful—more than he’s seen in a long time. Suni couldn’t be described with simple words like cute he was…captivating. “My mom was caring, don’t get me wrong, but she never thought for herself. She was arranged into a marriage. She had children when needed, and now she’s wealthy, but I can tell she’s not….” There wasn’t even time to look away because, with every loose strand that fell in front of his face and the nervous looks he caught, Damion found something new in Suni. His eyes grew soft, and his posture before relaxed. He was distracted by a single person; it felt nice. “This might be out of line, but your name suits you.”
"You are the only man who could please me, angel." He murmured, dusting the rest of himself off before grabbing his shoes. He gently took Connor's outstretched hand, tugged him close to his chest and scooped him up bridal style into his arm. "As much as I'd love to, you have a mission tomorrow you need to be ready for. I can almost guarantee that won't happen if I join you." Jas knowingly grinned and brushed a kiss to Connor's brow. "if you really insist on staying awake longer, we can always order dessert up to our room and eat out on the balcony."
Suni's brows turned up in intrigue and a bit of concern. "you're mother sounds beautiful. I hope she knows just how much love you speak of her with. I hope she can find a way to be happy with her life." He smiled softly, gazing up at Damion. He bit his lip as he slowly reached out and gently brushing aside the pieces of hair that obscured his view of Damion's features. "I don't mind, I think we're both past friendly first time boundaries now." He murmured, drawing his hand back to his lap. He breath a laugh "thank you. I think mama found it ironic after we grew up though." He snicker softly and finally broke eye contact to look around at the cafe.
Connor nuzzled in close. "Whatever do you mean? I'm responsible. Just what exactly do you think would happen in that shower Jas." He shook his head, giving Jas a smug look. "Then again, I can't force you, and if you want to, sure. I wouldn't mind eating dessert on the balcony. It seems like a lovely way to end the night. Of course, if you're ready for bed, that is always an option. Once I finish my shower, then we can decide. How does that sound?" Connor closed his eyes, his body drowning Jas's warm embrace. He looked up to Jas, admiring him and taking the time to grasp the situation they were in. Usually, he would be choking him out, but now he's being carried up to their hotel room. Connor could feel his chest tighten the more he looked at him, in a good way. "I love you; you know that, right?" He took his hand caressing Jas's cheek. "I don't think there is another soul that could make me feel the way you do. Just in case you were unsure." His eyes were filled with pure admiration and love as he managed to make eye contact with Jas.
"My mother is very beautiful and I hope she knows how much I care for her as well." Damion looked up to Jessica who had brought back their food. He thank her and started to eat the strawberry at the top of his whipped cream. "Did she? Let me guess, you're usually distant and you mostly have an angry face on. Your name is sunny, but you're always a rain cloud? Only assuming by the way Connor talks about it. I think you're the one person who scares him. However, I don't see it that way. Then again I only just met you, but from what I can tell you seem to be very soft if that makes sense. Don't get me wrong I think you can be scary at times when you need to be."
"you may be but I'm not." Jas grinned, pressing the elevator button with his hip. He smiled politely as they passed a couple exiting the elevator before pressing their floor number button. "Sounds good. if you're not up for dessert after your shower, then we'll save it for tomorrow." He replied, adjusting his hold on Connor. "I love you too, sweetheart." He murmured, leaning into Connor's hand and pressing a soft kiss to his palm. He felt a guilty pang in heart, now knowing that Connor wasn’t the only one in his lives he’d loved. He has proven that to himself with Winston. He released a soft breath and pressed his lips to Connor’s brow. “Thank you my heart, truly.” He murmured, gazing back and gently nuzzling Connor’s temple. “I would never question your love,” he reassured, glancing up as the elevator doors open to their floor. What he had said had been true, despite all the lives they’d been fighting and pitted against each other, Jas wouldn’t disregard Connor’s love. Even if it wasn’t the same way he felt love for Winston, Jas would whole heartedly love Connor as much as he could for as long as possible. He set Connor down for a moment in front of their door as he pulled the key card from his pocket and swiped it across the lock.
Suni bowed his head in thanks as Jessica came back with their food and drinks. He immediately went for the strawberry milkshake, taking a cautious sip before pulling it into his lap and contently slurping it down. He only paused when Damion spoke. He snickered softly, head tilted back slightly. “As much as I’d liked to be coined as the bad boy of the family who’s actually a huge softy, that I have to give to our sister. No, I hope I don’t come off as scary. The only reason I’m like that words Connor is because he’s dating my brother, and because of the situation they’ve been in. I was like that with my sister’s partner too, though less mean since he’s sensitive to things like that.” He shrugged, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. His emerald gaze flickered up to Damions and he gave a sly grin. “You haven’t seen my scary side yet, dear. I doubt you’ll want to and I hope you never see me in such a state. You are right about the soft part though. I don’t think I really live up to the violent nature all the heroes at that institute think our family is like.” He leaned forwards and took a small bite of the pudding, humming softly at warmth that settled within him.
He walked into the room, trying to reduce the amount of sand he would get on the floor. "Shower time. I'll be out soon." He looked through his suitcase for some PJs before he disappeared into the bathroom. His shower wasn't long considering the only thing on him was sand. He hummed as he came out of the bathroom drying his wet hair. "Hey, handsome. I was thinking we could order some ice cream and sit on the balcony if you're up for it. I'm a little more awake and relaxed now that I've taken my shower. What do you think? Besides, I don't know what it is but ice cream in Florida just tastes amazing, especially late at night with the person you love." Connor planted a soft and slow kiss on Jas's lips. "Is that okay with you?"
Damion nodded. "I understand what you're saying; of course, I can't relate, but I can understand why you're hesitant towards Connor. If I had a sibling and someone started dating them, I would try to get to know them, to see what they're like. But what do you mean by the "situation" they're in. I know Jas is a villain per see, and Connor is a hero, but somehow I feel like that's not what you're talking about. Even if it was, I don't think the general public would care about something like that. I mean, on the news, one of the captions was "The Love Birds are at it Again!". I feel like that's not something to be worried about." Damion watched Suni down the strawberry milkshake very quickly. He chuckled. "You really do like strawberry milkshakes." He chuckled, taking his spoon beginning to eat the coffee jelly he ordered. "Or is it just strawberry things in general?"
While Connir showered, has changed into shorts and a loose fitting shirt. He stretched and wandered around the room, toying with the rings strung on the thin chain around his neck, humming a song as he took it all in. He ended out by the balcony, elbows resting against the railing as he gazed out onto the city and beach scape. He glanced over his shoulder, a smirk on his lips. "Hello, beautiful." He greeted back, helping Connor by taking the towel around his neck and ruffling it through his hair. He pressed closer to him with an appreciative purr, kissing back with just as much gentle care and patience. "Ice cream in Florida with you will never not be okay, sweetheart. Even if we're not in Florida or eating ice cream, any time with you I'll gladly take." He replied, gently guiding Connor back into the room.
Suni glanced away, a grown pulling at his lips. "Let's just say Jas and Connor have more to their history than they let on. I'm in no position to tell their story though." He replied, shifting uncomfortably until he refocused on eating his pudding, wanting to get that warm fuzzy feeling back. "They're definitely the couple of the year. As long as they make each other happy, there's nothing more I could ask for Jas to be." He smiled fondly before snapping his gaze to Damion and blushing, ears flat against his head in embarrassment "hey, it tastes really good!" He whined, protectively huddling with his drink I'm the corner of the booth. "Anything really, it's a comforting taste to me, reminds me of summer and ofy childhood. Dad got all of us these strawberry popsicles when it was hot. Not those that you buy at the store but the ones made from actual fruit. Since then, I've always liked strawberry and anything with strawberry in it."
Connor shut his eyes letting Jas dry his hair efficiently. "I'll order it then." He took the phone and dialed the food service. It took him a bit longer because he had to speak in Spanish. He hung up the phone. "Alright they should be here in a moment, so we can relax until then." He grinned, Connor stretched his arms around Jas's waist, tucking his head into his neck. "You're extremely warm. I love to hold you like this." He kissed his neck before settling into his embrace. "I have so many things to show you tomorrow. Like the hoe where I used to live. Some of my favorite food places, and maybe we can go scuba diving, and then I could also learn about you as well." Connor also thought about their mission. He felt weird about it for some reason. He had a bad feeling. He wasn't sure why. Unexpected things always happen whenever he goes on a mission like this and he always finds a way to deal with it. Even so, it's dangerous and he needs sot to be extra careful. As he was thinking a smile turned to a straight face as he thought about his place, forgetting he was hugging Jas.
He smiled made eye contact as Suni was talking about his dad. To Damion, he looked like a bundle of joy with ears. "I see. Don't worry I'm not making fun of you. If anything I find it cute how much you like it. I'll keep in mind that it's a comforting taste." He smirked and started to drink his mango smoothie. "So what else do you like, not in terms of people, but like hobbies, people, you know? I feel like just because we both cook it's not all we have to talk about." Even though he just got his coffee jelly he was almost done with it when he took his last spoonful and pushed it aside. "I ate this way to fast. I wanted to savor it a little bit, but I guess I was hungry."
Jas perched on the side bed, an amused, and intrigued smile settling on his lips. "I didnt know knew how to speak Spanish." he said once Connor was off the phone. He hummed softly at the small kisses, reaching over his shoulder to run his hand through Connor's hair. He mentlef into Connor's embrace, a whisful sigh leaving his lips. "I can't wait to see where you grew up and explore the area. Though I can't promise I'll go scuba diving. This kitty doesn't do well in open waters." He slowly turned in Connor's embrace, tugging him close as they curled up under the blankets. "Ask anything you want love." He encouraged, brows creasing slightly in concern when he saw Connor frowning. "Right after you tell me what's wrong." He tapped Connor's lips before pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead.
Suni whined softly, still embarrassed, though his ears popped up in intrigue. "Uhm, I like painting I guess? I'm not that good but," he shrugged "I like the feeling of painting. Just mixing the paints together or feeling the brush against the canvas, not necessarily the art itself." He tried to explain. "I also like cooking of course, it's fine to me and relaxing. I was thinking of getting into baking bread just tobexpand my horizons." He waved a hand in the and laughed, licking off the extra cinnamon from the rice pudding off his spoon. "Maybe I'll order that next time since you seem to enjoy it so much."
He blinked and huffed a laugh. "I can't seem to get anything past you. Even before you can tell when I was having my off days. It's just. I have a bad feeling. I've done this a million times and I just have this gut feeling that something is going to happen, but I don't know what. I know I'm skilled and so is Jake, but we're still human after all and it's just-" He sighed and snuggled further into his arms. Connor didn't want to say it, but it was the only way to get it across. "I feel like I might not come home in one piece." He held his hand to Jas's neck and stroked it lightly. "Sorry, I must've ruined the mood."
Damion had a loving smile on his face as he listened. "I've never heard someone say they like painting in that sense. I'm not saying it's bad or anything; I'm just acknowledging it. and if you want…" Damion moved his straw in circles, mixing his smoothie. "I could teach you how I make it if you want. Rather just the basics so you can figure out how you like to make it." Damion watched him clean the rest of the cinnamon off the spoon, a blush rising to his cheeks. "I guess so. It is a delicious dish. I want to learn how to make it, but every time I try, it never tastes how I want it to."
Jas stroked Connor's cheek with his thumb, his lips forming a set frown as Connor admitted his worry over the mission. He hugged Connor close, and shook his head. "Don't say that, dear. Please don't." He begged, tilting his head and pressing kisses to his fingertips. "Let me come with you if you're unsire. I know you and Jake can handle yourselves but if things get messy I can get you both out. It's not like we've kept our relationship a secret from the institution anyways, I doubt they'd say anything if I were there. I'll stay hidden if you're truely worried about them but at least let come with you." He nudged Connor's head, closeing his eyes to fight off a panic attack he knew would come if he kept thinking about Connor hurt, hurt beyond saving. "Please, Connor," he pleaded heartbreaking soft.
Suni nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah! I'd love that. As long as you don't mind my inpatients. I know some breads take a while to make but it's worth it." He tilted his when he caught Damion staring, a slow blush rising ti his own cheeks when he realized what the other was looking at. He promptly set his spoon downinto the empty dish and pitbhis hands in his lap. "Maybe it's not exact to the one here but I'm sure it still tastes good. Don't tell Jess but maybe even better." He laughted softly as he drank the rest of his smoothie
"Hey…" Connor cupped his cheeks. "Kitty, look at me. You're okay. I'm okay. We're okay. We'll meet each other in our next life. We're always drawn to one another. I can't tell you that I'm not thinking about it. I mean, so many things could happen. Every time I go on one of these, there is always a feeling like this. I usually don't let it show. It's just started to bother me. The point is you know there is no guarantee that you or I will be alive by the end of the night. Honestly, I couldn't live with myself if you died because of me. We're not invincible, you know. I can't let you come. You know that. No matter what, I can't let myself rest knowing that I allowed you to put yourself in harm's way. I promise that if anything gets too risky or if something happens, I will be sure to get Jake and myself out of there. Anything more I can't promise." Connor kissed Jas's forehead. "I know you're probably a nervous wreck, and trust me, I am too, but tell me you will not follow me. Please. I can do my work calmly knowing you are safe and sound in this hotel room. Understood?"
Don't think things like that, Damion. Come on, pull yourself together. You just met him! Damion looked to the side, scratching the back of his neck. "No worries. I completely get it. I get impatient when I sometimes cook too. It happens to the best of us." He was halfway done with his smoothie when he started to get full. Damion couldn't help but smile and blush from the compliment. He always got flustered when someone complimented his cooking. "Y-You think so? Sometimes I get discouraged when it doesn't taste the way I want it to, so thank you for that. I would love to try your cooking sometimes too. I heard from Connor that it tastes fantastic. The feist you made for their date must have been delicious from the way he talked about it. This also means you could cook dinner and I could cook breakfast." Damion was referring to if they lived together but he really hoped Suni wouldn't pick up on it.
Jas shook his head, fighting back the urge to tell or cry or both. "I don't want to wait out a whole nother life just to see you again. I can't. Are you really willing to risk that chance? Like you said, we don't know what's going to happen. What if we don't see each other int he next life? What if we go back to hating each other?" He grasped Connor's hand, as if any contact would keep him here, with Jas, safe. He pulled back to look at Connor, mouth agape "and you truely expect me to live with that?! Knowing that you're in the line if danger yet somewhere I can still reach you?" Jas pulled away completely to sit on the edge of the bed. "You're not invinsible either Connor." He muttered, glaring out at the beach. He should have stayed home. With a dry laugh, he stood. "You can't be serious, love. you want to to wait around here while you what? Get yourself killed?" He shook his head "I can promise as much as you dear. You can't promise your safe return? Then I'm sorry, love of my life, but I can promise I'll stay here."
"Of course I think so, I wouldn't lie about something so wonderful as food." He laughed and nodded his agreement. lid love to cooknfir you one day. I can't guarantee youll like it but it'd be fun." He ducked in embarrassment, but he was still proud. "Ah so he told you about that. I can make something similar if you'd like?" He suggested, taking a second look at Damion before turning a bright shade if red, fox red if you will. "Uhm! Breakfast? Y-yeah! I - I guess. Like a breakfast for dinner type thing on one date then a normal dinner on the other, haha yeah." He bit back a whine at his own words, almost wanting to apologies.
Connor played with his sweatpants string. He stood up with Jas, but not knowing what to do after that. He didn't know what to say, and before he knew it, the room was silent. He swallowed hard, loud enough for Jas to hear. He opened his mouth and shut it again. He should've never taken Jas. He should've just hopped on a plane, and when he asked, Connor would already be too far. He moved in front of Jas and cupped his cheeks. They shouldn't be yelling at each other like this, but what could Connor say to make Jas listen and stay behind? Yet nothing came to mind. He pressed their foreheads together. "Nothing good is going to come out of this. You know that. I can't convince you to stay here, and you can't convince me to let you go with me. I don't want us to end this night fighting. Please, I…" Connor bit his lip before sucking in a shaky breath. "I never said I would die. It's was just a worry I have. Please, you know if this were the other way around, you wouldn't let me go. I really want to come back tomorrow and see your face waiting in the hotel room. Not have flashes of your dead body and have the last memory we shared to be us at each other's throats. Not again. Please…"
"True, food can never be lied about. So, with that, I'm sure your food tastes great. I'm not that much of a picky eater." Damion chuckled, watching Suni stumble over his words. "Sure, let's go with that. I have to say…that had to be the cutest thing I've ever seen. Are you ready for the check? I didn't have anything planned, so if there's anywhere you wanted to go or watched to share with me; then we can go there. If not, then maybe we could have a cooking date at my place?" Damion finished the rest of his smoothie, making sure to drink all of it before pushing it to the side and leaning back into the corner. Damion's eyes often wandered to Suni's ears, not because they were odd, but he had been watching to touch them since the first time he saw them.
Jas' eyes fluttered shut as silence fell between them. He didn't know what to feel. He was angry and sad, knowing he couldn't do anything in the end. He felt a small flicker of pride for Connor, already knowing he'd be amazing at the mission even if it was dangerous. He wasn't particularly fond of the danger part though. Clenching his jaw he echaled slowly and leaned into the gentle hand at his cheek. "I know you're right," He whispered back, gently tugging Connor with him as he sat back down on the edge of the bed. "And honestly that's the most frustrating thing tonight." He flicked his gaze up at Connor, hating how his voice trembled. He gently pressed a kiss to Connor's cheek and hugged him close to his chest. He thought about it for a few seconds, idly rubbing Connor's back as his heart sank. "Fine." He murmered, pulling back far enough to look at Connor. "I'll stay, so as long as I don't hear anything on the news. One word that the casino is being raided by police and I'm there." He said, gently tilting Connor's chin up. "Other than that, I'll be staying here, waiting for you to come back. Okay?"
"I am not cute." Suni huffed, ears flat against his head as he glared away. He reluctantly nodded "I can pay for half if that's okay. I know some people like to pay for everything on first dates but," he shrugged "I don't know, it's always seemed strange to me that became the way if doing things. But yeah, afterwards we can do something. I honestly don't have plans either. I don't know the area too well so if you have any recomended places to stop by I'd me more than happy to follow along!" He looked in surprise when Damion offered his place to go next. "Uhm, yeah, sure. If you're comfortable with that on a first date. I wouldn't mind. It would be a great chance to cook dinner later." He reasoned, mind already racing with what he could make.
"Okay. I guess it's settled." Connor pressed a kiss to Jas's lips. "Thank you for worrying about me, though. It's been a long time since someone has done that" A knock on the door made Connor jump. The man behind it said room service, and Connor relaxed. "I'll get it; you get comfortable on the balcony, okay?" Connor kissed Jas's forehead, his hand lingering on his cheek before walking away entirely. He opened the door and thanked the man for the ice cream. However, the guy who brought it turned out to be an old friend of his. So they caught up, which only took a couple of minutes because he had somewhere to be. Connor closed the door and went to meet Jas on the balcony. "Even at night, it's still warm." He whispered and sat down in a chair. He spaced out while looking at the night sky, hoping Jas wasn't angry with him. They'll be with each other all of tomorrow, and he didn't want it to be awkward. He frowned but shook his unpleasant thoughts away from his mind.
"You say that, but there are so many things that show me otherwise." Damion laughed and waved over Jessica for the check. "Well, think about it this way, we don't have to but, when you meet somebody, you usually hang out with them at their house or somewhere that familiar. Then again, this is a date, so maybe inviting to my house might seem like a little much, but you get what I mean. There is one place that I wanted to bring you, but I have to show you at night, or else it won't look good, so I thought maybe we could stop by my place, then I can show you when the time is right, and then I can walk you home only if you want me to. I know some people aren't into the whole walking home thing." Damion took the check and looked up. "If you want to split it, then we can, yeah. I like to think that whoever asked for the date has to pay for it. That way, it's only fair. Since we didn't ask each other, then it works out."
Has nuzzled into Connor's neck, glandly giving into the kiss. "I always worry when you're away from me, heart." He reluctantly let Connor go before standing to find bowls and spoons in the hotel suite's kitchen. When he came back to the balcony, he already found Connor settled in one of the chairs. "It's a wonder you're always cold huh?" He teased gently, wrapping his arms around Connor's shoulders and resting hus head atop his. "I'm sorry for yelling before." He murmured softly, "I don't give you enough credit." He dreathed in deeply and pressed a kiss to the top of Connor's head before settling into the chair across from him. "Now, let's see what kind of ice cream this hotel has."
Suni pouted but couldn't help but break out into a smile as he pulled out his credit card from his wallet. "If you're really comfortable with me staying at your house until tonight, then I'd love to drop by." He archen an eyebrow in amusement "oh? Now you have my undevided attention. I'm guessing I don't get hints as to where we're going tonight?" He slid over his card as shrugged. "If you're going by asking rules, then shouldn't Jas and Connor be paying?" He laughed softly
