Cas nodded a bit, leaning into Sorrel's hand with his eyes still closed. "Thanks again for letting me stay…" He murmured softly.
Cas nodded a bit, leaning into Sorrel's hand with his eyes still closed. "Thanks again for letting me stay…" He murmured softly.
Sorrel giggled quietly. "Don't tel me thanks for something that I'll always let you do. You're welcome here, more than even I am." He purred, gently playing with the guy's hair still.
"Why would I be more welcome here than you?" He asked, clearly confused. "It's your house, not mine."
"It's a long story." Sorrel replied, through gritted teeth. His eyes met a picture frame, sitting on the television stand.
Cas followed Sorrel's gaze to the frame, but he still didn't understand. "Well, I haven't got anywhere to be."
"And bad things happened here to me, so we're equal." He muttered. He shook his head, and sighed, soundlessly. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm never like that." He muttered.
"Are you okay…?" Cas asked gently, looking up at Sorrel from where he was with a worried expression.
"If I showed you something, would you understand?" Sorrel asked, softly. "I can't even put words to it." He added, a small explanation.
"Um… probably? What do you want to show me?" He gently took Sorrel's hand.
Sorrel, with his free hand, lifted the side of his shirt, and revealed a few haphazard scars. "This was bleeding, a little bit ago. It was a fight with the one in the picture frame." He muttered. "Bottles thrown, glass…" He muttered, with a shiver. He brought Cas's hand to his heart and sighed.
Cas looked up at him sympathetically and gave him a tight hug. "I… I know how that feels, honestly. I've got plenty of those myself."
"You do?" Sorrel sniffed, softly. He looked at Cas, and compassion filled his eyes. "I guess that's another thing we have in common, then. Oh well." He whispered. "We're strong, though, and together we can get through it." He decided. "I really met someone extraordinary, didn't I?"
Cas nodded weakly and blushed a bit at Sorrel's last comment. "I'm still nothing special… just someone who didn't have the kindest family."
"Would you ever talk about it? Or am I asking too much of you?" He asked, making sure Cas knew he understood barriers.
"Um… I suppose it's only fair after all you've done for me…" Cas considered for a couple seconds. "To put it simply, my mother left when I was really little, and my father… well, kinda blamed her leaving on me, and started drinking and stuff, and… yeah… gave me a fair few scars himself, which led to quite a few more I'm not proud of."
Sorrel's eyes widened. "Family problems run here, too. My grandfather disappeared when my father was born, and my father did the same thing to me. My mother committed suicide when I was ten, due to my disorders, so I get it. As for the scars you're not proud of, though, that makes me worried." He went on. "I won't let you be scarred again. The world's elements can die, people can die, I won't let it happen."
Cas hugged Sorrel tightly and hid his face in the other's shoulder, his eyes stinging with tears. "I-I… th… thank you…" He stammered, his voice faltering and fading to nothing.
Sorrel held onto Cas as he cried, slowly patting his back as reassuringly as he could. "It's nothing, nothing at all, I love you." He whispered. He hoped that Cas wouldn't catch the last part, because it was embarrassing to him. He'd not said those words since his ex left him, and they felt a little good.
Cas was too preoccupied to notice, lapsing into quiet sobs. He was standing on his toes so he could hug Sorrel more easily, but he was growing weaker from the crying. He started trembling, especially his legs, but he didn't go back down.
Sorrel noticed Cas's struggles, and gently lifted him up. He moved to the modular sofa, and simply sat down. He, taking personal space in mind, laid Cas right beside him, careful not to break their hug up. He could tell the guy needed to let his feelings out, and was relieved that he was doing so. He remained silent, not to disturb Cas.
Cas moved closer to Sorrel until he was basically sitting in the other's lap. He wasn't as concerned about personal space, but he was still afraid to move any closer. He started whispering quiet, shaky apologies over and over.
Sorrel laughed, softly. He noticed Cas was okay with him, and didn't mind it at all. He wrapped his legs around the guy, "Don't worry, don't worry. It's okay. I apologize for my missteps too." He whispered. He kissed Cas's forehead, as if it would calm him down.
Cas blushed and hid his face again, trying to get himself to stop crying. "Y-You didn't do anything wrong, I'm just… I'm… t-too sensitive…"
"Sensitivity is normal, Cas. I'll have you know that people all have their sensitivities." He explained. "I don't mind it, I'm too numb. I needed a little bit of life here." He purred.
Cas rubbed at his teary eyes, his cheeks now blotched with pink from crying. His breathing was still shaky and ragged, but he seemed to be calming down some.
