"S-Sorry…" Cas replied softly, still looking up at Sorrel. "Is… is that a good thing or a bad thing?"
"S-Sorry…" Cas replied softly, still looking up at Sorrel. "Is… is that a good thing or a bad thing?"
"Good, completely." Sorrel promised the other, before breaking into a yawn. "Oops," He mumbled.
Cas yawned as well, holding Nix close to his chest. "That's good… I don't wanna upset you."
"You probably can't, at this point." Sorrel said, before catching Cas's yawn. "You're tired, too?" He asked, with a laugh.
"Not really, but you yawned and I was watching you, I guess." Cas shrugged, humming softly to himself. The fireworks show was almost over by now.
"Oh, really?" Sorrel got himself off of the pier's floor carefully, and sighed. "I wish this night never ended, I could be here forever." He mumbled, happily.
Cas looked up at Sorrel from the ground. "Same… best night I've had in a long time. Probably ever, actually."
Sorrel decided on a new goal then. He'd have to abandon his old goal to make sure every day Cas had was great. "I'm sure this isn't the first time you'll say that." He muttered, to where Cas may have missed it. "Well, that sounds good." He said, covering up his other words.
Cas nodded and got to his feet as well, seeming to not have noticed Sorrel's comment. "Should we head back? It's getting kinda late…"
"Sure then, if you say so." Sorrel responded. He reached out a hand, towards Cas, attempting a hand hold all on his own. The guy was so much smaller than him, and yet, so much better at a lot.
Cas took Sorrel's hand and moved a little closer to the other, cradling Nix in his free arm. He looked up at Sorrel expectantly since he didn't know the way home.
Sorrel nodded, a simple, wordless reply to Cas. He began to walk back home, as random lights began to shut off. Few lights remained on as the final firework left its sparkles in the night sky.
Cas walked beside Sorrel, silently, glancing back to watch the last of the fireworks fade. Tonight really had been fun.
"So, I hope we get some rest," Sorrel yawned. "Tomorrow's got plans, filled all the way up," He murmured, happily.
"Really?" Cas looked up at Sorrel questioningly. "What kinda plans?"
"You'll see," He whispered, sweetly. He noticed his house was only a minute of walking away, they seemed to have been walking quickly. He didn't notice it at all.
Cas sighed. "Now I'm gonna be all anxious about it!" He whined. He was growing a bit tired from the faster pace, but he never complained.
"Don't be anxious, kitten." Sorrel said, slightly demandingly. He turned into his house's driveway, and approached the door. He unlocked it, and held it open for the adorable other.
"Well, I can't exactly help it…" Cas stroked Nix a bit as he walked inside. "But I guess I'll try…"
Sorrel smiled at Cas's willingness to at least attempt being brave. He dragged himself into his living room, plopping down on his couch. "Too tired to walk into my room," He mumbled, with a laugh.
Cas hesitated before sitting beside Sorrel with Nix still in his arms. I guess I'll join him, then…
Sorrel carefully dragged Cas into his lap, gently enough for it to not startle the other. "Sweet dreams?" He asked the tiny guy, with a smile.
"Y-Yeah…" Cas huddled close to Sorrel for warmth, closing his eyes. Just don't think about it and you won't get nervous… He told himself.
Sorrel closed his eyes, and his breathing slowly evened out. His chest moved the same way through his breaths. "This is what love feels like, eh?" He asked himself, and Cas.
Cas flushed red, keeping his eyes firmly shut. "I-I guess it is…" He murmured in agreement.
