( Morning! How are you? )
( Morning! How are you? )
(I'm tired lol, you?)
Cas was definitely getting used to the idea of staying with Sorrel. He'd been afraid before since he felt like he'd be a burden, but Sorrel's reassurances, as much as it didn't seem like it, were helping him. He tentatively entwined his fingers with Sorrel's, cradling Nix with his free arm.
( Well, I passed out today, got sick, and probably have a fever, if that says anything :)) )
Sorrel gently stroked Cas's knuckles, as he held the other's hand. He loved the feeling, having someone to hold onto, and it made him feel secure. "Thank you, Cas." He sighed. "You really don't know how much this means to me."
(Oof that's no bueno)
"For what, Sor?" Cas asked, turning his gaze up to Sorrel. "I'm not really doing anything, I just… it makes me feel a little safer… I dunno why, though."
( Mhm. Surprised I haven't fallen out a second time. )
"I guess it would be the same for me. Just having someone around is already healing a little bit inside of me. You're saving us both, bud." He said, giving Cas a really sweet smile.
(Ooft)
Cas nodded, smiling back and blushing a bit. "I'm happy to help, Sorrel."
Sorrel decided to try something new. He lifted Cas, careful to avoid having Nix fall off of him, and spun him around in the air. A small breeze soared around them in that single moment, and it seemed almost dreamlike to Sorrel.
Cas blushed harder, startled by the sudden motion. "Woah!" He clung to Sorrel so he wouldn't fall.
Sorrel loved how Cas seemed a little shocked. He was always so cute when he blushed, shock just added to it. He gently slowed down a little bit, to reassure Cas that he wouldn't throw him. "It's okay, it's okay!"
Cas seemed a little windswept and disheveled, but otherwise okay. He hugged Sorrel tightly and waited for his heart to calm down. "W-What was that for?" He asked, sounding confused, but not upset.
Sorrel put Cas down, then, noticing his change of rhythm. He didn't let go of him, however, and kept his grasp. "Because it was magical, like you." He said, softly, sweetly.
Cas blushed harder at that, stars seeming to swirl in his eyes for a second. "I'm… I'm really not all that special, Sor…"
( Daaayum! )
"You've said that so many times, each time you've been proven wrong." Sorrel admitted, bringing a cold hand over his eyes. "I'll always prove that wrong."
(Cas likes the compliments but he hates accepting them lmao)
"Sorry…" Cas apologized softly, hugging Sorrel again. "I just… it's hard. I'm not used to people being nice to me."
"Well I'll let you take your time at being used to me, then. Because I'll shower you with love everyday." Sorrel promised Cas, with a lopsided smile.
Cas whined quietly, still blushing. "But Sooor…" He whined. "I don't wanna look like a tomato all the tiiime…"
"Well then make me hush so you aren't a tomato anymore, Cas." Sorrel purred, with such a gleaming expression.
"How?" He asked. "I already told you to stop, but you don't really care."
Sorrel suddenly seemed to go silent. Wow, Cas really had a decent argument. "I don't know, you're right." Sorrel sighed, with a reluctant huff of agreement.
"I-I'm sorry, did I upset you? I didn't mean to…" Cas said nervously, fidgeting with his hands a bit. "Are you okay?"
"Not at all. I'm just wondering how I would make myself quit complimenting someone." Sorrel admitted, dryly. He suddenly noticed his house was right around the corner. "Dammit, we're here." He said. "I love walks, why do I have to live close to everything I actually enjoy?" He loved Cas a little more than that, or at least he had recently begun to think so. The other couldn't know, though.
"We can walk a little longer if you'd like to. I don't mind." Cas shrugged, looking up at Sorrel again. "I feel safer walking with you. It's actually kinda enjoyable."
Sorrel's heart fluttered for a second. "S-Sure then! Thanks, Cas!" He said. The two passed their house, and for the first time together, went the other way. Many colorful lights seemed to be up ahead, and Sorrel loved the thought of them.
"No problem." Cas smiled and took Sorrel's hand, walking along with him contentedly. He'd never felt safe to just walk before, but something about Sorrel just made him feel happy and secure.
( Mmm. I was wondering about something. What if, to advance the plot a little further, Sorrel realizes he's falling for Cas, or something, and he has to fight to admit it to the other. Or vice versa, I dunno. )
Sorrel kept his eyes ahead, despite his occasional glances at Cas. The guy was adorable, small. Who wouldn't absolutely want a friend like him? He took to his mind to think through all the information he knew, and added a little bit of his own, about the other.
