Sorrel got down to the last little bit of the dessert, and noticed Cas savoring his own. He slowed down dramatically, as he tried to eat it more carefully.
It didn't take Cas too long to finish his drink. Considerably longer than Sorrel, but it didn't take him ages. He glanced up at Sorrel when he was done.
Sorrel looked at Cas, as he noticed his glance. He gently winked, subtly but sweetly. "Enjoyed it?" He asked the other.
Cas blushed a bit at the wink and nodded. "Y-Yeah. It's good. I haven't had something like this before."
"You really missed out on a lot, sad, sad. I have to make sure you get the best in life…" Sorrel told Cas, with such a bright tone.
He blushed more at that and hid his face in his hands. "Y-You don't have to do that for me… I… I really don't deserve all that."
"You've said that a lot recently, and guess what. I've taken you out twice, bought things for you, given you shelter and clothes, and offered you an automobile." Sorrel complained, with a dry laugh.
"Yeah, and I'm saying I really don't deserve to just be handed a car for free." Cas kept his face buried in his hands.
"And I don't deserve to keep it, so therefore, we're equal." Sorrel said, with a stare. He wasn't going to let the other just… not keep it.
Cas met his eyes nervously, Nix rubbing up against him to try and calm him down. "B-But Sor…" He whined.
Sorrel moved a little, small bit closer to the other. "What?" He asked, leaning towards Cas.
"I-I just… I… I can't…" He stammered weakly. "I feel horrible for taking so many things from you…"
"Think of it this way, Cas." Sorrel argued. "I feel great for sharing something with someone sweet, instead of the one I once shared things with."
Cas whimpered quietly, still fighting with his conscience. "B-But you've just done so much for me and I can't do anything in return…"
"I have one request, one that you can fulfill with out money, with out anything. All you need is yourself." He said, softly. He shook his head. "I won't tell you what it is, though. Not yet."
"Why can't you tell me?" Cas asked. "What can I do? W-What do you need?"
"I told you, I won't mention it now. Later, Cas. I promise I'll tell you later." Sorrel sighed. He was completely determined to tell the other, but didn't know how.
Cas reluctantly nodded. He really just wanted to know what he could do to repay Sorrel, but he supposed he just had to wait. "Should we head out?"
( GTG! Will reply later, see you later! )
(Alrighty!)
"I guess so." Sorrel said. He got up, and left Cas for a second so that he could pay the bill.
Cas stayed put, petting Nix while he waited for Sorrel to return.
Sorrel, after a strangely long wait, returned to Cas. "Let's go, then." He said, reaching a hand out to the other.
"Alright." Cas took Sorrel's hand and let the other lead him outside the smoothie shop.
Sorrel looked upon Cas, just a little intrigued. He'd come so far since they had met. At first, Cas just seemed lonely and small. Now, he seemed like he was actually into the other, and simple affection was clear. It made him smile, on accident. Cas had been warming up to him, and he didn't realize it until then.
