"We have reason that you may be hiding at least of one aforementioned person, based off of your previous actions and words," the agent explained. In training, they'd been taught to watch body language and take note of everything a person says, anything could come into use in the future.
"Well I don't think your training taught you how to notice that, when someone shows up on my doorstep with a gun on them and is asking if they can search my home, that I would be a little nervous," Kye replied, without moving. He knew that they were likely to come in anyways, but he wanted to give the kids a chance to get out. he was also trying to give the other guys a chance to get out. "So yeah I probably said a few things that would make me seem suspicious, but most humans would because a gun is a very handy tool when it comes to taking a life, rapidly." He suddenly berated himself internally. You idiot, his gun was hidden, he's gonna question why you noticed it.
The agent narrowed his eyes. "Move," he ordered. He'd caught Kye's slip-up, but didn't say anything about it. Clearly this guy had enough encounters with authorities to spot his hidden gun. Before Kye could act, the agent shoved his way past Kye and scanned the area. Turning around briefly to beckon the others in, he first searched in the obvious and less obvious hiding areas in the main room.
Kye snapped into action and leaped onto the agent's back wrapping his arms around his throat and kicking one of the other agents. He used his body weight to spin himself and the agent around let go and kicked him in the back letting him fall into his companion. He pulled his gun out and aimed at the men. "Try it again I dare you. I will just kick you back out again."
Not a smart move at all.
I know, but I'm gonna have to roll with it now and hope not to die.
The agent quickly recovered, sending a quick kick out of nowhere into Kye's stomach, sending him sprawling across the room, and smirked. Ah yes, this had also been part of training. Intense training, one might add. Now pointing the gun at Kye, he circled around, one finger on the trigger.
Ava took a small step back, hearing what she thought was a fight.
Kye recovered from the kick, did a kip up and ducked under the gun. He caught the agent's wrist twisted around and disarmed him. "Dude, I don't think you really want to do this," he dropped the mag and unloaded the gun before dropping it on the ground, and kicking it to the side.
Well at least his training has come in handy.
No freaking kidding.
Damn, he's good, the agent thought. Luckily, his backup that he'd requested had already come in, making sure to keep their distance, but their guns had been withdrawn, and all were watching Kye warily. Hovering just between them and Kye, making sure that he couldn't get to them, dove in for a punch to the throat, hitting his mark. Just as I thought. He dashed back, so that Kye couldn't lash out at him after being knocked down.
Ethyn rolled out from under the bed in case he was needed. Crowley wasn't joking when he said he was dangerous.
Kye pulled back to try and take less of the impact. But it was still enough to knock the wind out of him. He heard the sound of someone in the other room move and cursed internally. "Okay you know what I'm done with you people being here so I'm going to politely make you leave," he stood up straight and let his arms fall limp at his side.
Kain followed Ava holding her hand every step "A-Ava i'm sc-scared" his voice shaking as he spoke her heard the fight and wished he could curl up and disappear
Ava took a shaky breath. "It'll be alright…" she tried to reassure him, but it was an empty promise. "Hah," she scoffed to herself quietly. She knew what she had to do. Pulling herself up to her full height and discarding her coat and sweater, she revealed a pair of jet black wings. "Stay here," she muttered. She may not like what she was about to do, but she felt like she had to do it. She barged out of the closet, expanding her wings as far as they could. The tips brushed against the walls, giving Ava a tingly feeling. "I believe you'd be looking for me, monsieur," she said in her boldest voice.
"Ava," the agent breathed. "Is there anyone else with you?" he took his partner's gun and aimed it at Ava. Her family wouldn't care if she came in injured, right? After all, he knew what they wanted with her, he'd practically forced them to tell him.
"No," she lied through her teeth. "Now get out of here. I'll go with you, willingly, but you have to leave Kye alone."
"Kye, huh? We can't promise that, but we'll leave him," the agent emphasized the last word. "Alone for now."
Ava strode towards the agent. Though she looked like she knew what she was doing, her brain was a flurry of "What do you think you're doing????"
Ethyn heard noise from the next room. Maybe that girl, Ava? Well, he couldn't let her have all the fun. He stepped out and leant against the doorframe.
"Hey Crowley, is that what you're calling yourself these days?" He grinned. He could feel his hands growing hot as they powered up. There's a reason they keep me in handcuffs, Kye
Kye stepped up and pulled Ava back. Not acknowledging Ethyn. He stood between them. "Like I said I'm done having you people in my home. And I am going to politely make you leave." He held up his hand and some sort of purple barrier surrounded the agents. It swiftly became a dome around them, and began moving steadily out gently pushing all of the agents towards the door.
This works.
I'm do actually think things mostly through.
"Woah, nice bubble." Ethyn said. He almost smiled at Kye then caught himself and looked down.
Ava just stood there, open mouthed. "Whaa-?" the agents widened their eyes as they were swept away. "I mean, thanks but…" she took a deep breath. "I know 'em all too well. Relsey, Connellee, and Crowley. They won't stop until they get what they want." she folded her wings up. Ava sat down on the couch and curled up. Remembering Kain, she called out, "It's okay kid, you can come out now…"
"And when they get back we won't be here," Kye turned on his heel and walked into his room. "Yo, dude that was in handcuffs, what is your name? I don't believe we've met," he said walking back into the room and tossing him a different colored hoodie. He'd also changed into a white tank top, though he was still wearing his black jeans. He had a single strap backpack over his shoulder, and his glock strapped to his left side.
"I'm Ethyn. Do you want this back?" Ethyn said handing Kye the handcuff key.
"Nah I have another one in my backpack. You can keep that one," Kye replied. "I'm Kye by the way."
"Oh, thanks Kye." He slipped the key into his pocket
"Put that sweatshirt, that I gave you, on," Kye ordered. "The subtle changes of clothing will make us harder to identify. Ava if you have any other clothes or a hat or something. Something subtle but a change. Kain you should be fine for the moment because you weren't seen."
Ava gave a small nod of understanding. She grabbed her suitcase, and went over to the bathroom, shutting the door. She may've been out on the streets long enough, but that didn't mean she was comfortable with showing strangers her bare body. She took off her dirty clothes and put some fresh ones on. A flowery shirt and some jeans. She tossed her other clothes back in the suitcase, and came back out, also tying her hair up.
"Perfect. Kain, do you still have Munyeca?" Kye asked as he walked over to his counter to grab something.
"Oh, oh! Right! Yeah I just haven't been warm in a while." He slipped the hoodie on and walked to the sink. He flipped the switch and stuck his hands under the water.
Kain had came out still shaking but had calmed somewhat "they are gone f-for re-real right"
Ava fake shuddered. "Don't worry kid, they're only after me," and she glared at the open door. She really did hate those guys. She was glad they were gone though. Of course her parents knew of her escape. They probably watched for the news of the burned building and the body count for weeks afterwards.
