"Well, you could say I've been around for… A while," Kye stopped on the fifth floor and walked through the hall. "So where do you come from?" He changed the subject as if not wanting to continue that conversation.
"Well, you could say I've been around for… A while," Kye stopped on the fifth floor and walked through the hall. "So where do you come from?" He changed the subject as if not wanting to continue that conversation.
"Oh, the outskirts, the countryside, you get the gist," she answered vaguely. Noticing where they were and following Kye into an apartment room, Ava asked, "So, is this where you live?"
"For the moment," Kye replied looking around. "I kind of move all over the place. So this is where I stay for the moment." He closed the door behind them and locked it. "There's an extra room over to your left that has bed in it. I don't use it for anything other than a bit of storage. You can take it if you want."
"Alright, thanks," Ava replied. She knew she'd more than likely end up on the floor, she was simply more comfortable there, but, it was worth it.
The apartment room was pretty clean, there were a few papers on a small table and a dish or two in the sink. The floors were swept and the table was wiped clean. In the room that Kye had pointed out to Ava, had a few bins in the closet. The bed was made with a fuzzy blanket on it and a couple fluffy pillows. The floor was carpet and had recently been vacuumed. There was a small desk in the back corner that had what looked like a couple documents on it. Kye walked into his room and pulled his sweatshirt off. He was wearing a light blue tank under it. He pulled something off his belt and placed it on his bed before walking back out to the main room. "It's not much but it's got a roof, electricity and running water. The bathroom is just across from you if you need it."
"No, no, it's perfectly fine. I've slept in worse, trust me," she protested.
Kye nodded and then kind of looked past her at the bins in the closet. "Those bins are full of books, if you ever want something to read. I have to run down stairs and talk to the front lady. So make yourself at home, I will be back in like five minutes."
"Okay, thanks again," Ava sat on the bed.
Kye left and the apartment got quiet. There was a clock tiking from somewhere, and what sounded like quiet music playing from the main room. Something suddenly jumped onto the bed behind Ava. The sound of a cat purring sounded a moment later.
Ava jumped at the sudden movement. Turning around, she saw it was only a cat. She gave a sigh of relief. "Oh, it's just a cat. Hi there little one," she cooed.
It gave a friendly purr and strode over to her rubbing against her arm. The door to the apartment opened and someone came inside. "Okay got that figured out," Kye's voice sounded from outside the room. "Hey have you seen Munyeca? She's my small tortoiseshell cat."
"You mean this one here?" Ava asked. "I've never had a pet before, what's it like?"
Kye poked his head around the corner and gave a smile. "Yeah that's her. As for what it's like, she's really picky and very moody. Some moments she'll be this sweet little angel like right now, loving on you, and then suddenly she'll become a little demon and start ripping you're arm apart. Would you like anything for lunch? I've got some bread and other sandwich makings. Or I've got some other options. Whatever sounds good to you."
"Huh, okay. Lunch? Uh, a sandwich is okay, thanks," Ava replied.
"Okay, I'll go fix us some lunch, then we can-" he was cut off by a hard knocking on the door. Kye took a single step back and looked at his door. Whoever was there knocked loudly again. "I'm gonna guess that's one of you're friends because I am not expecting anyone."
"Friends?" she asked. With downcast eyes, she answered herself, "I-I don't have any…"
The door was knocked on again, and Kye stepped back into the room that he was lending Ava. The knocking was getting progressively harder and more violent sounding. "Don't talk, hide in the closet. In the far corner there's a trapdoor leading to a crawl space area. Go." Kye hopped out of the room for a moment and came back holding something in his hands. It was a hand gun.
Ava stared at the gun for a split second and scrambled to do as he said. Once in the closet, she trembled in fear, her breathing coming in shaky breaths, her chest rising and falling.
(okay can i get a filler on what is important before i join? then i will post a link to my character)
Kye rested the gun on his back hip and walked towards the door. "Okay alright, what do you want?" his call silenced the knocks. Keeping the chain latch on he opened the door slightly.

(Just be whoever is at Kye's door. We're kinda just doing whatever and seeing what happens.)
A small little boy was standing there "He-hello?? Ar-are you K-Kye?? My name is Kain"
Kye sighed and let his shoulders relax. He placed the gun he held in his holster and unlocked the door. He opened it and leaned against the frame, his thumps in his pockets. "Kain, huh? I assume you came to get some help? Ava it's fine, you can come out." He called the last part over his shoulder.
(thumps?? do you mean thumbs??)
Kain stayed by the outside of the door hesitant "I c-can come in right?"
(Yeah that is what I meant sorry.)
Kye nodded and turned back into his apartment. "So who pointed you my direction? Or did you just follow us here?"
