@ElderGod-Icefire
Nik smiled, biting his lower lip a little bit as he responded.
i never know how to respond, so if we keep talking you're going to have to get used to that from me lol. But yeah.
Nik smiled, biting his lower lip a little bit as he responded.
i never know how to respond, so if we keep talking you're going to have to get used to that from me lol. But yeah.
Avon thought carefully before replying. Well then, I'll surely be used to it. Whatever you give me to work with, I will do.
Who was he kidding? work with? he was awful too, it wouldn't go too well. But he had to try, because he said he would.
He blinked, cocking his head slightly as he examined the text messages.
Mhm. Alright. Also Smoke says hi.
He sent a picture of Smoke looking up at the phone, the grey kitten looking sleepy and grumpy.
Or maybe he says "go away". Idk
Avon sighed into his shoulder. Smoke has pretty fur. I'm sure I'll get Smoke's affection one day. I guess that's a third thing I'll fight to do.
He wrote, and sent. He noticed his agency was nearby. Dang, we're at the agency, Nik. I might have to go for a bit.
Nik smiled a little bit.
Mm. Dare I ask what the other two things are? Obviously u don't have to tell me, seeing as you barely know me.
He sighed at the second text.
Ah alright. Good lick
*luck goddamnit
Avon laughed, and unfortunately had to leave the message on read. Rosalia had brought the car in at godspeed. He quickly got off of the messages app, and swiped his screen history off. She tended to check on that stuff, as if she were his parent. "Get out, now." She demanded. he complied to her words.
Nik set Smoke down when the little kitten squirmed again. He took a picture of the ticket, covering up the phone number with his thumb, then sent the picture to his foster sister, Tessa, along with an explanation of what it was for.
( I've got to go. )
Avon dragged himself into the agency, and looked tiredly at the other employees. they could all tell that Rose was dragging him dead, but to his side, it wasn't her fault. He wanted to be his best for the others.
( time skip to night after your part? )
(ah alright)
Tessa texted back after a few minutes, text full of shock emojis and a teasing, light jealousy. Nik smiled as he texted her, curled up on his bed.
(sure!)
It had been about four hours later that Avon was allowed some free time. Night time was always such a blessing to him, and it relieved him so much. As soon as he was in his room, he took his shirt off and tossed it aside. He always preferred to be cooler. He groaned slightly as he began to make a little food for himself, wondering what he should say to Nik. He even wondered if the other was awake in the first place.
Nik was indeed awake, sitting in his living room and watching a TV show. Smoke was curled up beside him, asleep and purring softly in his sleep. Nik's phone sat on the coffee table.
Sup. You awake?
was literally all he could think of. With out another thought, he sent the message, even though it sounded stupid. He jumped onto his bed and laid face up, staring at the little stars all over his roof.
His phone buzzed, and he picked it up. He smiled when he saw who the message was from.
Yeah. I'm a night owl for sure.
He texted back, reaching over to run a hand through Smoke's fur.
Avon, with relief, clutched the phone a little bit harder than before. What a relief! I almost thought I'd have to spend the night alone.
He gleamed, through his typed words. He rolled onto his stomach, underneath a faux fur blanket. He loved the thing, it was so soft compared to the agency's suggestion of bedding.
haha! Nope. Tho I do have to sleep eventually, I've got work tomorrow.
He worked from home, yes, but that didn't mean that he could just sleep in all the time. Even if he wanted to.
Oh really? Good luck with it, working is a little rough sometimes. You seem strong though.
Avon responded, beaming with pride at his words. They were strong words, powerful, even, and they sounded just like him.
yeah. Thanks! I can work from home tho, so pajamas and coffee for the win!
He smiled at the phone, and part of him wondered at the fact that he was texting one of the musicians he listened to. Someone who was…well, a rising star.
Avon bit his lip as he thought about what to say next. It was a nervous habit of his, one he has to hide often. Mmm, those sound perfect.
Was all he thought to type. He erased the message. I see, that sounds comforting. What is your job, though?
That sounded much better. He sent that message through.
I work with a larger company, and i write articles for them.
He replied.
Also sometimes I help handle the social media aspect by typing up the posts for somebody else, making sure there are no spelling errors, no grammar errors, etc. nothing too glamorous
Wow, that's actually super useful. Maybe, if we ever actually meet again, I could let you type one up for me. :)
Avon responded. He used a smiley face for the first time, genuinely happy. Nik was talented, to say the least.
haha! yeah maybe so :) tho you'd have to give me materials to work with first, i can't just make up stuff. that's how Fake News happens (:
He smiled a little, shifting on the couch.
"Wow, what an honorable person," Avon marveled. "Fake news is everywhere, so I'm practically astonished by this guy. He's brave enough to state the truth!" You're such a good person. I'll definitely try and figure some stuff out for a post one day!
He sent. He sat up a little bit more, trying to fix his uncomfortable position.
ehhhh...ive done some stuff before that I'm not all that proud of, but thx. And alright!
He leaned back into the couch, letting out a soft breath. He ran his fingers through his hair. Beside him, Smoke awoke, letting out a soft meow.
Hmm?
Avon sent. He wondered what Nik had referred to, and he squinted at the screen. We've all done something, you know.
He sent that one, too, though it hinted at things one could be left to imagine.
yeah i know. i just...you know what, not gonna get into that right now. don't really wanna talk about it.
He sent, swallowing softly.
