Nik blinked as he heard his phone ding, and looked. He smiled. Good morning. I'm not a kitten, for one thing, and for another, I'm not homeless and there is a roof over my head. But i slept fine, thank you. you?

Avon took a moment to slap himself. Not hard enough to redden his skin, but hard enough for himself to grimace. "Agh, what a screw up," He mumbled. I erm, I slept great, yeah. Sorry,
He replied, sheepishly. He sent the reply hoping it would fix his mistake a little.
He chuckled quietly. that's good. and don't worry about it, i was just being a bit of an ass. Nothing to apologize for. But Smoke, the ACTUAL kitten, did not sleep and spent the whole night running around.
With a sigh of relief, Avon began his next message. I do that sometimes, you're just lucky it's concert day, loool.
He sent that first, before deciding to send something else. Smoke must be an active kitten, haha.
He chuckled, shaking his head and smiling. ha alright. and yeah, he is. plus cats are naturally more nocturnal, so it's normal. no biggie. I've gotten used to sleeping while hearing him run around.
I see, I see.
Avon replied, curtly. He then realized that he was going to have Nik write him something. Yoo, I just remembered that I needed a post written up. Name your price.
Nik raised his eyebrows. hmm. well. price all depends on what you want me to write? I'm not actually a freelancer tho, so. idk. also, you already gave me a ticket for the concert, so i don't think payment would be necessary?
Of course payment has to happen, I'm not a scam.
Avon sent. He snorted, at himself, before sending the next words. Write me something about concert preparations, include the word fantastic. I love that word <3.
He sent. He literally loved the word, and figured Nik could do something.
Nik narrowed his eyes a little bit. i literally have no idea what im supposed to write. That's a very vague prompt.
He tried to ignore the way his heart sped up at that little <3. It was nothing. It had to be nothing. I need more details to write about, dude.
Avon paused. He hadn't hired someone like this before. He paused, before his fingers raced with ideas to type. Okay, sorry, so basically I really enjoy preparing for my concerts, and that's what I'll be doing here in a bit. I'd like to get across, to the fans, that I'm preparing for tonight, and something is going to be very, extremely fantastic. I don't know what else I could write-
He pursed his lips, opening up an empty document. right, alright. so what exactly do you DO while prepping? and how long do you want this to be? like...social media post size, or blog post size?
Social media, Instagram.
Avon decided, quickly. And basically, the stage gets set up, and I dance around and sing, a lot. Oh, and I dance on the stage for the first time, too.
He sent. He wondered what the other would do if they were preparing for something that massive.
Kk. sounds terrifying. i want a picture. most posts go best w/ one. a dynamic pic would be best, maybe of the dancing? have someone take it for you and send it to me?
He replied, jotting down a few notes.
Avon laughed. Lemme get out of my room, first, then I'll get you a really hot one.
He sent. He added a small wink emote with the text. He rushed himself into a random outfit, and ran out to the stage-in progress. He asked one of the stagehands to take a photo of him amidst the chaos of stage-building, and got a good one in the middle of the pieces. He sent it. I hope this works.
Nik smiled a little, and sent the image to his email so that he could put it in the document. Perfect.
He replied with another smile. So, to summarize: you want me to write that you are getting ready for the performance tonight, and you have a fantastic surprise in store for us. Correct? is there anything else you want me to add?
That's exactly right! Nothing else to add. :)
Avon replied. He was relieved by the turn out of the photo, he really liked it. He wondered what Nik had in store, it excited him a lot. Thanks.
cool cool. should take me maybe twenty minutes at the most.
He sent back, and got to work. He hummed softly as he worked, thinking about what exactly to say. He did some more research about what exactly stage prep involved for singers like Avon, making notes as he did.
Sounds sweet.
Avon replied, curtly. He greeted a few of his other stagehands, those that were his childhood friends. He hated that they had to work this hard just to stay around him, but it was completely alright with them.
Nik kept working, the keys of his computer tapping away as he formulated the post. After about twenty minutes, he sent it to Avon. this work for you?
he asked, standing and stretching lazily.
Avon looked at the post, and how magnificent it was. Of course it does! How am I supposed to pay you, now? I definitely have to pay you for such fine workmanship.
Avon sent back, with such a bright tone. He would wait until he payed to post the thing.
Nik smiled, running his hands through his hair. uh. well. you really don't need to pay me, it wasn't that hard.
He replied, shaking his head a little bit.
Nik, that would be stealing. This IS your job. You get paid for this stuff, and I want to pay you.
Avon sent back. He pulled his hair, and blushed, slightly. "I don't deserve this, dude, please let me pay you,"
It's not stealing if i say that you don't need to pay me.
He argued. besides, it wasn't like it was something super difficult that i had to spend hours on. it took me like 20 minutes, tops.
okayyy then. I have something else in mind, something that you cannot refuse. Rose is calling me, I've got to actually start preparing now, so I'll see ya tonight. byee!
Avon sent back. He'd only actually had 15 minutes until he had to work, but he had to leave the other with a thought of anxious surprise.
He narrowed his eyes slightly. He had…not great memories connected with the words "you cannot refuse", and while he knew that what had happened them wasn't anywhere near what Avon was thinking of…it still sent a chill down his spine. He took a deep breath. Hmmm. alright fine. see you!
