Avon smiled at Nik's last message and put his phone down. He then went off to find Rosalia, who would most likely have him running through his choreography on the stage, or practicing his vocals one good last time.

Nik went back to work. He needed to get this latest assignment done ASAP, and then he would get ready to go to the concert. Which, he realized, he had to get a picture at, or Tessa would never, ever believe him. Tessa was his foster sister; the only one he still kept in contact with.
Avon raced out onto the stage. "Avon. Choreo, now. And don't you dare to respond to me, practice is more expensive." Rosalia called, with a demanding tone. She was not going to have anything less for her star. Avon nodded, a subtle, hidden response, and began a small portion of his choreography. He danced his step-sequence first, before jumping into the air. He fell to his knees, and stumbled slightly. Avon hadn't been able to get that jump for a while now, but he still tried it.
Nik continued to work, humming softly and smiling a little bit as he did. After a while, he got up, ate, and got ready to go for later. He stared at his own face in the mirror, and tried to prepare for being surrounded by a crush of loud people, tried to prepare for all the noise.
Avon grinned at himself in the mirror. His body was wrapped in a gorgeous silver and mint, he loved the colors. He gently ruffled his own hair out, and sighed. He wondered if Nik would be there, after all, the ticket was for the front row. He'd have a good view of the other there. Rosalia managed to creep past the door, and looked Avon in his mirror image's eyes. She formed a sneer, but restricted herself enough to tell Avon 'good luck, we have about an hour till'. Avon smiled, and hugged her loosely. Only he knew her most kind side, and this was the best it would get.
Nik sighed softly, leaning against the wall and closing his eyes, trying to push down his anxiety. You're gonna be okay. It's just for a while. They won't be looking at you, it's fine. It'll be fine. He told himself. You'll be fine.
Hey Nik, you are coming, right?
Avon texted Nik, out of complete nervousness. He just needed confirmation that the other would be there, and nothing more. He closed his eyes after setting his phone on vibrate. He wanted to be told that Nik responded, that he was there.
Nik looked over at his phone, chewing on his lip. oh. uhm. yes. not gonna chicken out on you. anxiety is acting up but ill be there.
He texted back. See? No chickening out. You're going, and you'll have fun.
Phew. I got a little nervous, I didn't want to be surrounded by the people I only know as fans, now that I know you.
Avon replied. He grinned a little, that made him feel a lot more relieved.
He smiled slightly at the reply, tapping a foot. yeah yeah, I'll be there. Like i said, anxiety is being a bitch right now tho, so. I'll be there, but i might look like I'm about to be shot.
He let out a faint, nervous laugh, taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly. For the first time in a while, he wished he had accepted the meds that his doctor had wanted him to take.
Avon paused for a second. Right, the other had big time anxiety. Breathe. No one's paying attention to you. They only want to see me, and I only want to see you.
Avon replied, cautiously. He knew he had to be kind, and careful, to the other person. Nik was a really fragile being, and he had to ensure his completeness.
(gtg soon, sorry)
i know i know i know.
He texted back quickly. but...anxiety has its own mind. I'm working on it tho. I'll be fine.
He took another deep breath, letting it out slowly as he sat down. I'll be fine.
he said again, trying to convince himself of that just as much as Avon.
( It's okay!! )
Okayy then. Be careful coming up here, though.
Avon replied. He bit his lip. I just want to see you smiling, well.
He added, just because. He pulled on a thin strand of his own hair.
He let out his breath in another sigh, picking up Smoke and petting the kitten's soft fur gently. Alright. I'll try and give you a nice big smile then, alright?
He took a deep breath, counting to ten and doing his best to calm down.
Sounds great. They're calling me now, I've got pre-stage people to meet. Annoying, but they'll do. See you there.
Avon replied. He put his phone in his shirt, the one he would change into, and left the room to meet his helpers. He really had no schedule coordination.
alright. have fun!
Nik texted back, putting his phone away and gathering Smoke into his arms, pressing his face into the kitten's fur and inhaling. You're safe you're safe you're gonna be just fine. You aren't going to get hurt. You're just going to be part of the crowd. No one is going to recognize you or hurt you or show everyone your scars. You're going to go, and you'll be fine, and you'll have fun.
"Hi guys! Thanks for working with me today!" Avon exclaimed at the small crowd of people standing onstage. He gathered with them as if he were their equal, not as if he were higher than they. Each worker wore the same face, one of shock and joy. "After this, I'll treat you guys to a buffet." He promised them. He felt like it would stand too true, though. Well, at least he can venmo them some money.
Nik let out the breath, and let go of Smoke. He checked that his clothes were satisfactory, and that his phone was fully charged. He closed his eyes. Let's go. He had plenty of time, but he knew that even once he was in the parking lot he would need some time to get his nerves up.
Avon finished up with the last preparations he had to make, and went off of the stage. He walked out to peek at the medium crowd that already gathered at the door. People of all sorts were gathered there, and it made him proud. He noticed that diversity wasn't an issue. He listened in on the conversations of a few louder people. "Avon has to be gay." "No way. He's a pan baby." "Either way, Avon definitely might be dating that other singer,""What? No way!" Avon couldn't help but laugh at how much he hadn't told the people.
Nik drove to the place and, as he had expected, had to spend about five to ten minutes psyching himself up to go inside. He doublechecked that he had his ID and wallet and phone, and then headed inside, tucking his keys in his pocket. He put his hands into his jacket pockets to hide the fact that they were trembling just a little bit, and then entered the building, sticking to the side, away from the crowd of people that had gathered.
Avon laughed, one final time, before standing on the under-stage platform. He was ready for its raising, the concert was in very few minutes now. With a few silent lyrics, he was sure that he was prepared for the concert. His mind drifted off to Nik, again. "I hope you're here, dear. Are you here for me?" It sounded like perfect words. He heard the concert's lights turn on, he heard the background music playing. It was really happening.
(just gonna be honest: I've never been to an actual concert so i have no idea how tf ticket-taking works at these lmao)
As people were let in, Nik eventually joined the line, worrying his lower lip between his teeth. Calm down, you'll be fine. You'll be fine. You're fine. No one here cares who you are, except maybe Avon. He told himself again, knowing it wouldn't be the last time.
( loool it's okay! so basically the person takes your ticket, in my case they gave it back after scanning, and let me in. VIP tix guarantee front rows~ )
Avon slowly began hearing voices. People were crowding into the stadium, and it sped his heart up a little. He hated the beginnings of his concerts the most, because he wasn't able to see the appearances of his fans, and how quickly they piled in. He knew, though, that each of them wanted to see him, and that feeling was one of his favorites.
(ah alright cool cool, makes sense. thanks!)
Nik waited as they scanned his ticket and let him in, taking the ticket and putting it in his pocket. He headed towards where he was supposed to be, feeling like his heart was being strangled as he passed by more and more people. It's gonna be so loud and there are so many people-! His heart was pounding and he took a deep breath, clenching his fists and sinking his nails into his palms, trying to calm down.
( yeeeee :) )
There were maybe a few minutes left until the concert, then. Avon took a cold, hard breath. He was majorly excited for the idea of the concert, and literally couldn't stop his heart from racing. He cleared his mind, and then froze in his starting position. That platform was going to raise at any minute now, and he was one hundred percent ready for its movement.
