Logan looked at Penny. "I mean…I guess so, yeah." He replied with a shrug.
Logan looked at Penny. "I mean…I guess so, yeah." He replied with a shrug.
Penny smirked. “I don’t, but it’s fascinating to see who does.”
Olivia sighed. “Guys, we should probably get going. It’s getting late.”
“Didn’t know you were such a grandma,” Penny teased.
“You know nothing bad ever happens at night,” Olivia commented ominously.
Jamie sighed as well. “Let’s go hunt down Henry.”
Logan looked around for Allie, frowning slightly. He hoped she wasnt the type of girl to do anything too intense with a guy she had just met, as that would be embarrassing. He reminded himself that it shouldn't matter either way to him.
After a minute of searching, they found Allie and Henry giggling in a corner, both of them slightly disheveled from making out. Allie had taken her hair out of its bun, letting it fall in golden curls down her back.
“There you two are,” remarked Olivia with a sigh.
“Sorry,” Henry apologized. Allie glanced at Logan for a second and then looked at the others.
Logan crossed his arms slightly, looking at her. This shouldn't matter to you. She wants to make out with some random guy, that's her choice. It shouldn't matter. You aren't even Human. If she knew that, she would kill you. A muscle ticked in his jaw.
“Well, it was nice to meet you guys,” Olivia remarked with a smile at the two of them. “We need to head out for the night, and you should too.”
Jamie nodded. “Sorry for acting dumb earlier. Have a good night, man.”
“Bye, guys,” Allie added, shooting one last smile at Henry and letting go of his hand, which she had been holding.
Logan nodded. "Yeah. See you." He replied with a wave. He crossed his arms again with a sigh after they left. "Shall we head home, or are there any other random guys you want to make out with? The creep from earlier, perhaps?"
Allie glared at him, her face coloring. He seemed to be affected, which was what she wanted, so why did she feel so awful? “What’s your problem?” she complained. “He was just one guy, and we had chemistry.” She crossed her arms as well.
"Uh huh. Sure. I guess chemistry is now synonymous with drunk." He replied, and started walking towards the exit.
She followed him, annoyed. “It isn’t your business what I choose to do, and yes, maybe I’m a bit drunk, but so what? The worst thing that could happen is I die, and that’s going to happen anyway, thanks to the aliens!” She felt as if she might cry, but she couldn’t do that in public, or even in front of Logan.
"Yeah yeah, I know. Everyone's going to die because of the fucking aliens." He replied. Yeah, I'm definitely going to just kill you. He thought sarcastically.
She walked outside into the balmy night air, huffing. Being angry was the only thing helping her not cry. “Do you not care? Because I”—her voice cracked—“I lost so much, okay? And maybe life seems kind of pointless when everyone you care about is gone. But whatever. It doesn’t matter.” She sniffed, a tear escaping her eye.
He kept walking, shaking his head slightly. "I'm sorry you lost people. And you know what? Fine. Act however the fuck you want, i dont care." He kept his arms crossed, jaw set in a tight line.
“Fine,” she repeated. This was all her fault. She always acted rashly, and she knew one day it would cost her. More tears trickled down her cheeks and she has hastily wiped them away.
He felt bad that he had made her cry, but…he wasn't sure what to do. Apologize, or…he sighed softly, shaking his head.
She stormed on ahead of him, determined to be seen as weak. Pretty soon they reached her house. “I—I’m feeling tired, I’m going to go straight to bed,” she lied.
He nodded sharply. "Alright." he replied, heading to his own room. He wasn't sure what to say, so he wasn't going to say anything at all.
She collapsed onto her bed, beginning to cry again. Thankfully she was a quiet crier, so hopefully Logan wouldn’t notice. She felt like a such a mess. She was so petty and completely useless. She and Henry had clearly meant nothing to each other beyond a drunk makeout session.
Logan leaned against the window sill, looking outside and sighing softly as he looked up at the stars. I didn't mean to make her cry…I really didn't. I just…why do I even care if she makes out with someone? Why do I?
She continued crying, her mind going to what it had at the beginning of the invasion with her family and friends. Maybe getting drunk had been a bad idea. At least crying was a nice catharsis.
He kept looking up at the stars for a few more minutes, then sighed, walking over to Allie's room and knocking softly. "I'm sorry for upsetting you…" he said slowly. "Are you…are you alright?"
She sniffed, wiping her arm across her face in a desperate attempt to conceal her tears. “I’m fine,” she answered, but the raw tone in her voice gave her away.
Logan sighed. "No, you aren't. I can hear it in your voice." he replied, leaning his head on the door with a frown.
“Yes, I am,” she argued, but it lacked any actual fire. She sounded tired and upset.
"No, you aren't." he replied softly, still leaning on the door. "I'm sorry that I made you upset, I really am. I didn't mean to."
