Amber hummed and pecked his lips. “Sounds good… Should we watch something while we eat? Infinity War is on Netflix. We could watch that again.”
Amber hummed and pecked his lips. “Sounds good… Should we watch something while we eat? Infinity War is on Netflix. We could watch that again.”
“I’m not objecting,” William chuckled. “Infinity war it is.”
“Awesome. Where’s the remote? Is t on the side table behind me?” Amber asked, twisting around to face the other side so she could see.
Before William could answer, the doorbell rang. He sighed.
“Yes, it’s behind you,” he pinched her nose. “Now get off of me so I can get the pizza.”
“Hey, I wasn’t the one who carried me over here and set me in your lap!” Amber protested with a laugh. She stood up from his lap and grabbed the remote before sitting back down. “Will you grab napkins too, please. In case we need them.”
“Will do,” William stood up and walked away to the door. He paid the pizza man, took the boxes and drink from him and walked back. He set the food on the table and went to grab tissues from the kitchen. He returned and took his seat on the couch.
“That smells so good,” he inhaled deeply. “I’m starving.”
Amber hummed in agreement, closing her eyes as she took in the scent of the pizzas. “I love pizza. My second love,” she joked, reaching for the pepperoni pizza. She pressed play on the movie and leaning into William’s side as she took a bite.
“I’m glad it’s not first,” William chuckled as he took the BBQ pizza and took a bite. “I would have hated to take away the ring.”
Amber chuckled softly. “No, my first love is chocolate,” she said, then paused. “Sorry, Will, but you’re not a food. You can’t be on my food-love list.”
William sighed heavily. “But I thought you enjoyed it, Blue,” he bumped their shoulders together. “Me. Guess I was wrong about that.”
“William…” Amber trailed off, shaking her head with a chuckle. “I love you more than food. I was teasing you and you know it, you goof. C’mon, be quiet and watch the movie.”
William chuckled and wrapped his arm around her tighter, taking another bite of his slice.
“Good,” he hummed. “I’m glad I’m not second to food.”
Amber hummed and shushed him before taking another bite as well. She leaned o to his side in comfortable quiet as they watched their movie. Her ring caught her eye a couple of times, and she couldn’t help but smile at it.
William kept catching Amber looking at the ring and smiling, and he couldn’t help but smile again. He couldn’t wait to see her in the wedding dress, walking to him. He couldn’t wait to spend the rest of his life with her.
When his pizza slice finished, he stayed put, though he wanted more. His fiancée was comfortable. He didn’t want to bother her.
Amber stretched over and grabbed another slice of pizza, picking one up for William, too. She handed him his slice without a word, curling up closer to him as her eyes remained fixed on the screen.
Poor Spider-Man…
William took the slice, his eyes never leaving the screen. He and Amber had watched this movie a billion times, but he knew he wouldn’t get tired of it.
Finally, when it was finished, William stretched.
“That was depressing,” he muttered. “We probably should have chosen another movie.”
Amber hummed and shifted so that she could wrap her arms around his waist and stretch her legs across the couch. “Yeah, but it’s still a good movie. I really like it… Should we clean this up so we can finish celebrating?”
William tightened his hold on her. “We definitely should,” William licked his lips. “I saved some room in my stomach for dessert.”
Amber shivered at his words, her insides turning to mush as heat shot through her core. “Yeah? Well, good. So did I,” she murmured, lifting her head so that her lips brushed across his neck. “Let’s clean up.”
William shivered at her action, but he didn’t say anything in regards to it.
“Mhm,” he stood up and reached for the nearly empty boxes of pizza. “You can bring the drink and the glasses.”
Amber grinned and did as asked, picking up the bottle that held their drink and the glasses they’d used. She followed him into the kitchen, rinsed out the glasses and set them in the sink, then put the drink in the fridge. When she finished, she leaned against the counter and waited for William, her eyes trailing his movements.
William set the boxes on the counter, closing them properly. He opened the fridge and set them atop each other. Shutting the door, he looked at Amber.
And licked his lips.
“Well,” he murmured. “What’s next on our agenda?”
Amber took a step toward him. Then another. And another. Until she was right in front of him. She lifted her hand to draw lines over his chest, watching her finger move instead of meeting his gaze. When she did finally look him in the eye, she smirked, her eyes lighting up playfully.
“I’ll race you to the bedroom,” she whispered, already taking a step backward and spinning around toward the room.
She was such a little vixen. He was going to return the favor. He raced after her to the bedroom, not wanting to lose, but she had already reached. He narrowed his eyebrows.
“You cheated,” William accused. “You gave yourself an advantage.”
Amber grinned, stepping back a pace to sit on the edge of the bed. “Did I? Huh, I didn’t realize,” she chuckled. “What are you going to do about it?”
