William’s eyes never left her as she walked to her car. Once she was in, he nodded and walked to his own car, dialing the number for Dominos as he did so.

Amber drove to her apartment, her thoughts only partially on the road. A wide grin split her face as she remembered the day. She still couldn’t believe that she was engaged.
William drove with a smile on his face. The day had gone wonderfully. She had said yes. Of course she did. He knew that already, but it was still exhilarating.
When he reached her apartment, he killed the engine and looked to see if her car was there.
Amber had pulled up just a moment before William, and she hopped out to make her way to his car. She leaned against the door with a grin. “C’mon, fiancé.”
“Coming, fiancée,” William chuckled, following after her to her apartment. “Our pizza will be here in about ten minutes. I ordered one pepperoni and one BBQ.”
“Wonderful,” Amber said with a grin, shooting to the door and unlocking it. She tugged him inside, closed the door, and pulled him down to press their lips together in a deep kiss. “I can’t believe we’re engaged.”
William kissed her back, one arm wrapping around her waist while the other hand rested on the back of her neck.
“You’d best believe it,” he murmured against her mouth. “And if you can’t, just look at the ring.”
Amber grinned and pecked his lips again before looking up into his eyes. “I’m so, so, so happy, Will. You have no idea how incredibly excited I am,” she breathed.
Seeing Amber happy like that… William felt like he was on top of the world. He was the reason she was like this. Him.
“I’m glad you are, Blue,” he pressed their foreheads together, eyes closing. “So am I… I was really worried. I honestly thought I would screw up.”
“You were amazing, Will… So amazing. I knew you were planning something, obviously, but I had no idea you were going to propose! Gosh, we’re going to be married… I’ll be married to you, my best friend and love of my life,” Amber murmured, burying her face in his chest. “I can’t wait.”
“I’ll be calling you ’wife’ instead of ‘girlfriend,’” William breathed, running his fingers through her hair. “Do you realize how much of a privilege that is? I feel like the luckiest man alive. Having you as my fiancée. My future wife. The mother of our kids.”
Amber shivered at his words. “Gosh… Gosh, Will… Wow. I— I— Wow…” she whispered before kissing him again. “And you’ll be my husband… My husband… Wow…”
William wrapped his arms around her tightly, lifting her off the ground and burying his face in her neck.
“Yeah,” he breathed. “Your husband. I’ll be your husband. Yours.”
Amber giggled a little she her feet left the ground. “Mine… Just like I’m yours,” she murmured, wrapping her arms around him tightly. “I love you so much, Will.”
“Yes, mine. My wife,” William rubbed circles on her back. “I love you, too, Blue. So much.”
“Let’s cuddle on the couch while we wait for food,” Amber murmured softly, leaning into his touch. “Just cuddling for now.”
William bent over to slip his hands under her knees, picking her up in his arms.
“To the couch, then,” he murmured, carrying her over, sitting down and settling her over his lap sideways. He then wrapped one arm around her waist while the other began massaging her scalp. “You are wonderful.”
Amber laughed when he picked her up, then leaned into him when they sat down. “And you’re amazing. I really just cannot believe that we’re engaged… It’s so surreal.”
“I suppose we should plan for the wedding now, huh?” He nuzzled her cheek. “You’re going to be my wife. I’ve only ever witnessed that in my dreams.”
“You’ve dreamed of marrying me before?” Amber asked, slight amusement in her voice. “And we can start wedding planning tomorrow or something. Not right now. Now we’re celebrating.”
“I have, actually,” William answered without a speck of embarrassment. “And of course. Tonight is for celebration. And don’t think I forgot what you did in the park.”
Amber’s smile morphed into a partial smirk at that, and she nuzzled his neck gently. “No, I didn’t think you did. I’m looking forward to later, now.”
William kissed the top of her head. “You’d better be. It’s going to be fun.”
“I bet it will,” Amber chuckled, looking up at him. “How much longer for the pizza?”
William furrowed his eyebrows. “Should be here soon.”
