“Oh my gosh… I’m such an idiot. Oh my gosh, Will. What am I going to tell them? They’ll be so upset. I mean, they know about you. They know I dated you in college, and they know I ran into you again after a few years. And they do know hat we started dating again, but Will,” Amber rambled, turning to him with wide eyes. “What am I going to do…?”
William parked the car on the side and turned to Amber, taking her hands in his and giving them a light squeeze.
“Hey, calm down, love,” he whispered, rubbing circles into her hands. “It’s all right. At least they know about me, right? We can visit them. I can meet them. I just proposed to you recently—it’s all right.”
Amber closed her eyes, breathing heavily through her mouth. William’s touch was calming, though, and soothed her slowly. She took another few deep breaths before nodding.
“Okay. Okay, yeah…” she murmured, opening her eyes. “Thank you.”
William smiled and reached over to peck her on the lips. “They won’t be upset,” he said to her calmly. “We can visit them on the weekend, okay?”
“Yeah… Thank you, love,” Amber sighed, closing her eyes again and nodding slowly. She reopened them after a while and smiled at William. “All right. You should kiss me, and hen we need to leave. The movie will start before we get there, at this rate.”
William chuckled. “All right. If that’s what my fiancée desires,” he murmured before leaning closer and pressing their lips together.
Amber hummed and kissed him back softly before pulling away with a smile. “Much better. Thank you, Will,” she said softly.
“Anytime, sweetheart,” William smiled at her before he twisted the wheel and continued to drive. “Have I told you how beautiful you look today, Blue?”
“You have, yes. But thank you again,” Amber chuckled softly, glancing down at her phone. Maybe she should call her mother to set up a day for her parents to meet William…
“You always look beautiful,” William shrugged. “Oh, there’s traffic up ahead.”
Amber hummed. “Well, you always look handsome. Oh, I think the app I’m using factors in traffic, so we should be good.”
“That’s good, then,” William hummed. “My answer to both your statements. But here’s a question… am I handsome with clothes, or without them?”
“You’re handsome with clothes, sexy without,” Amber declared without stumbling over her words, smirking over at him before leaning back with closed eyes.
William chuckled, returning her smirk with one of his own. “Good to know,” he hummed. “Very good to know.”
Amber hummed with a slight giggle covered by a cough. Gosh, why did she have to giggle right then? She sounded like some schoolgirl with a crush…
“And what about me? Beautiful with or without clothes?” she asked in a murmur.
“First of all, that giggle was downright adorable,” William commented with a chuckle. “Secondly… you look beautiful with clothes, Blue, but hot without clothes. Seductively so.”
“Oh, hush, that wasn’t supposed to come out,” Amber laughed, playfully swatting his leg. “And that’s good. I’m glad you think of me that way.”
“You should do that more often,” William teased. “And of course I would think that way. You’re mind blowing regardless of how you look.”
Amber hummed, her smile widening slightly even as her cheeks gained a slight pink hue. “Well, so are you. Ridiculously handsome and incredibly sexy, and mind blowing no matter what.”
William chuckled, reaching to take her hand without looking at her. “Well, thank you, love. I appreciate it.”
“Any time, love,” Amber hummed, pulling his hand to her mouth and pressing her lips to it softly.
William entangled their fingers and squeezed her hand gently. “We’re almost there,” he murmured.
Amber smiled against his hand, pressing it to her cheek. She leaned against it, closing her eyes contentedly. “M’kay.”
William wiggled his fingers in her hold, rubbing against her cheek as he took a turn, trying to find a parking spot. When he did, he parked the car and turned to his fiancée.
“Here we are,” he hummed. “Five minutes late.”
Amber laughed softly when he wiggled his fingers, turning her head to kiss them. When he parked, she let go with a sigh and stretched. “All right, let’s go! We’ve already missed previews, and I want popcorn and snacks and drinks.”
