Gabe gave Alex a hug, being gentle.
"You're welcome," Gabe said, smiling softly at him.
Gabe gave Alex a hug, being gentle.
"You're welcome," Gabe said, smiling softly at him.
Alex sniffled softly, holding onto Gabe. "I-I'm sorry…" he whispered.
"It's okay," Gabe said quietly, "it's okay. Everything is okay now."
"It's not." he whispered, shaking his head a little bit and taking a deep breath.
Gabe lightly put his hand on Alex's head.
"It can be," he said gently.
"N-not…not for me…I…" He shook his head a little bit.
"It can," Gabe said gently. "We can make it that way."
"No…" He whispered, shaking his head again.
Gabe rested his head lightly on Alex's.
"Then we can leave. We can go West."
Alex blinked. "Wh…what? But…but this is your home, I…"
"It's okay, Alex. This is a building to me. If we need to leave, we will leave." Gabe was dead serious.
"But…" He stared up at Gabe. "Why…" He trailed off, not understanding. "I-I don't understand…"
"I want to help you get better, Alex. If you need to leave, I'll leave with you. I want to be here for you." Gabe wasn't sure why he was wanting to stay with Alex so much, but he knew he did.
Alex stared at him, those green eyes so vulnerable and small. "I…you would?" He asked quietly. "But…why?"
"…I don't know," Gabe admitted quietly. "But it feels… Right. I want to stay with you, to help you feel safe."
He bit his lip a little bit. "I-I…okay…" He replied softly, trying to make sense of that.
Gabe watched Alex for a moment, giving him a small smile.
"Thank you for letting me."
Alex shrugged a little bit. "But…we don't need to…leave, I…"
"Only if you need too," Gabe assured. "Only if it helps."
Alex swallowed softly. "Okay…"
Gabe watched Alex again, giving him a small smile. He really didn't think any less of Alex now than before.
Alex looked up at him again, holding onto him quietly.
Gabe gently pulled Alex closer.
Alex sighed a little, leaning into Gabe.
Gabe seemed to be glad Alex was calming down. Things were better now.
