Alex took another deep breath.
Alex took another deep breath.
Eventually, Gabe looked down at Alex again.
"Have you eaten?" He asked.
Alex shook his head a little bit. "N-no…" he replied softly.
"Then I'll make us some dinner." It was a statement, not a question.
"I…okay…" he replied softly. "You don't have to make any for me.."
"I'm going to," Gabe said. "Please, just eat a little?"
He was quiet for a moment. "Fine…"
"Thank you," Gabe said genuinely. He sat Alex down on the bed gently, moving to the kitchen.
Alex shifted a little bit, watching him go and chewing on his lip.
Gabe didn't take long to make the food, bringing the plates into the bedroom for Alex.
"Here," he said softly.
Alex took a plate, his too-thin wrists poking out of the sleeves for a moment. "Thanks."
Gabe sat next to Alex carefully.
"You're welcome," he said with a smile.
Alex shifted a little to make room for Gabe, taking a deep breath.
Gabe started eating a little.
Alex picked at his food, not eating very much.
Gabe looked over at Alex, a little worry showing on his face.
Alex ate a little bit, yes, but not much. Not enough.
Gabe set his own empty plate aside, looking at Alex.
"Please," he said softly.
He looked up. "What?"
"You need to eat," Gabe said softly.
"I'm not hungry…"
Gabe sighed softly.
"Fine, then," he said gently. He seemed disappointed.
"S-sorry…" he said quietly, biting his lip.
"No, no, really," Gabe said. "I can't expect you to eat a lot to begin with."
He took another small bite, nodding a little bit.
