"You're welcome." Mia rested her head on Simon a moment, letting out a soft sigh.
"Hopefully we'll get through this…"
“Yeah….I really hope he meant it. For all our sakes.” He said, hugging her tightly. He didn’t know what he’d do if Astral had been lying about getting better.
"Me too. It would be… nice." Mia closed her eyes a moment, hugging Simon close.
“Yeah…it really would be. He does seem sincere about it but still, we shouldn’t get our hopes up.”
"Right. We can't trust him, not at all. Or trust our chances." They could change so easily.
He nodded in agreement. “But for now at least…I think everything’s okay.” He said, sighing a bit in relief.
"Yeah…" Mia offered a small smile, hugging Simon close.
Simon rubbed Mia’s back gently, so grateful that she was okay and still here with him. He wouldn’t take it for granted.
"I'm okay," Mia said softly, after a bit. "I'm… I'm not going to let myself get that far again, okay?"
He nodded. “Do you promise?” He asked quietly, looking up at her. He knew it was childish but it would make him feel better.
"I promise," Mia said gently. She ran her fingers through Simon's hair, resting her head on his.
“Thank you..” he whispered, giving her a quick squeeze. He let out a content sigh, just letting Mia hold him.
Mia nodded, holding Simon close. She fell silent, gently rubbing Simon's back.
Simon looked up at her. “Are you hungry?” He asked, knowing that neither of them had eaten that day.
"A bit, yeah," Mia admitted. She didn't have much of an appetite at the moment, but she would soon.
“Let’s go make something to eat then. That okay with you?” He asked, pulling out of her arms so he could get up.
"Yeah, that's good with me." It was… strange, to see Simon so willing to eat. What all had changed in him?
At the current moment, Simon was only feeling well enough to eat because he wasn’t stressed out of his mind. He intended to take advantage of that to get himself to maybe eat a full meal.
Mia stood, offering her hand to Simon to help him up. She'd take advantage of it too- Simon needed a proper meal without her forcing anything down his throat.
Simon took the hand that Mia offered, rising to his feet, a little unsteady from having been sitting for so long. He really did need to eat, it had the potential to cause issues in the pregnancy, or issues while the baby was being born, and that‘ s the last thing they needed.
It really was. That's why Mia had initially started feeding Simon herself as soon as she had. He couldn't afford any complications, for both of their sakes.
"What would you like?" Mia asked, moving towards the kitchen next to Simon.
“Hmmmm I dunno, what do we have?” He asked, thankfully seeming to have no trouble moving around. He had brought the blanket again though, wrapping it around himself. It helped keep some of the dysphoria at bay.
"Well, we have hamburger helper, some different meats and vegetables… We've got tv dinners too, if we want something quick." Mia hoped to make a healthy meal, but there were things they could have faster so Simon and she wouldn't lose their appetite.
“Let’s try actually making something good for us for once, how does that sound? But if you want something else that’s completely fine too.” He said, looking over at her as he spoke.
"Sounds perfect to me!" Mia offered a smile, moving over to the fridge to figure out exactly what they were doing.
