Simon laughed again. “Probably not.” He agreed. He leaned against Mia, his focus going back to the book in his hands.

(Lots of cuddles and lots of happy times with new experiences for Simon)

Mia leaned more into Simon in turn as the conversation came to an end, opening up her own book again with a peaceful smile.

((At least we have that to look forward to.))

Simon continued reading, humming softly under his breath as he did so. He used his free hand to pet the leopard as he read.

(Mhm qwq)

Mia rested her head back on Simon's shoulder, settling down once more. The leopard yawned again, head going to rest on Simon's stomach.

((It’s all gonna be great until Simon has a mental breakdown.))

Simon read through it pretty quickly, after all the book was pretty interesting. After about another hour, he was halfway through the book.

(And Astral's going to be so confused when it happens because he treated Simon right the entire time why is he not okay-)

Mia was taking longer with the book she was on, since it was longer itself, but she was enjoying it.
"You've got a good taste in books," she noted as she looked away for a break.

((Astral like “sir I did not sign up for you to be depressed D:”))

“Thank you!” He said, looking over with a smile. He considered it a very high compliment. “Your taste is pretty good too.”

(I could see Simon just doing his best not to talk about why because he doesn't want to be a bother to Astral because it's not his place and Astral's like "maybe we went overboard with the brainwashing :("

Mia smiled, nodding.
"Thank you, too!" She rubbed at her eyes some, letting out a small hum.

((Yeah that’s pretty likely))
((Astral just asking him about something and Simon’s just like “my feelings about it aren’t important :)”))

Simon took a break from his own book for a moment, his head resting on the leopard’s back.

(Astral just hugs Simon close and looks Very Sad because Simon isn't talking to him about it because hey you work with what you have and he will find out what's wrong even if he has to manipulate the h e c k out of Simon)

The leopard's tail flicked when they felt Simon on their back, turning their head to lick his shoulder and the back of his head.

((Oop-))

Simon laughed softly, not moving his head from the spot, if anything nuzzling closer.

(Yeahhhhhh)

The leopard rested their head on Simon's shoulder then, still licking his head on occasion. Mia chuckled nervousl, watching.
"You seriously have no problem with this?" She asked out of curiosity.

“Nope! It’s just big comfy cuddles!” He said, very much content with the current situation.

"Okay, then…" Mia shook her head some, going back to reading. She shifted to be somewhat closer, her hand going to Simon's just to make sure he was okay.

Simon gave her hand a gentle squeeze, just to reassure her. He made space in his new position for the book, going back to reading.

(That's good at least lol, one less thing for him to get hurt over)

Mia let out a soft breath, looking down at the book in her lap. The leopard stretched their back legs, sprawled out on the couch with head on Simon's shoulder still.

((Yep that’s good lol))

Simon chuckled. “Boy they really just decided to take up the whole couch, didn’t they?” He said, mostly to himself.

(I know right? That's what I thought too lol)

Mia giggled some, moving to stretch out herself.
"Mhm…"

Simon smiled, going back to reading. He was having a good time right now honestly. He was glad the leopard hadn’t tried to leave yet.

(:00000 just comes in with a plate of Meat for feeding time)
(Oh no that's not going to mess Simon up at all while he's making sure the baby doesn't die and doesn't see Simon is dying)

The leopard yawned once more, licking the back of Simon's head again. The door to the library did open, at one point.

Simon looked up, though at this point, he was very very comfortable in his spot with the leopard and not wanting to move.
