"Here!" He showed her a selfie of them at the movies eating popcorn together. "And here!" He put another picture up, this one of them standing together behind the sign of an amusement park. "Need more proof?"
"Here!" He showed her a selfie of them at the movies eating popcorn together. "And here!" He put another picture up, this one of them standing together behind the sign of an amusement park. "Need more proof?"
"I told you, I don't care. Now let me go!" she snarled.
"You don't care?! If you were yourself you'd be glad to see me!", he snapped at her. After a moment he added, "Sorry to snap at you."
"Well apparently, I'm not myself. You said it yourself," she growled.
"Which is why you need help!" August sighed. He kept his grip on her as the bus neared the hospital.
"I don't need HELP!" she shouted, drawing attention towards the two of them.
"Yes you do! Trust me on this!", he said, panicked. People were starting to look at them. If someone reported them he would be the "bad guy".
"We're going to be late for school," she said sharply.
"Yes we are!", he said in a calm tone. The bus stopped at the hospital and August took her hand and started walking towards the doors.
"We have to go to school!" she demanded, following him only because he was pulling her along.
August continued to drag her of the bus. "No school for us for today." He made his way to the doors.
Kate's foot caught on someone's shoe and she stumbled forward.
August put his hands on her shoulders to steady her. "Are you okay?", he asked her.
"Fine," she snarled.
"I was just trying to help." He held the hospital door open for her.
"I don't need to be here–" She stopped dead in her tracks. "White…" she whispered.
"Shh.", he said comfortingly. "It's going to be alright." He went up to the front desk and began explaining.
"My girlfriend was kidnapped two days ago. I don't know what they did with her, but she cannot remember me anymore. You can ask the police for more information if you'd like. I'm assuming she doesn't remember anyone else. It think the kidnappers did something to her."
"Uh… I'm sorry, I have no idea what to tell you, honey," the lady said.
"She needs help! Check for a concussion or drugs in her body or whatever!", August raised his voice.
The nurse sighed. "Alright. I'll get our mental specialist to come in, is that good?"
"That and whatever needed." August said, a little calmer.
"We'll start with the specialist for now. Is this your girlfriend?"
Kate scowled, still in August's grip. "I'm not his girlfriend."
He looked at her. "She… um… is. Her memory is somehow damaged. I can even prove it."
Kate crossed her arms and looked off to the right. "He's not. I don't know who he is."
"Enough. I could ask anyone at school and they'd tell you that we're dating.", he said firmly.
