"Is… it theirs." Theirs. Who took her. She could be down there.

"Could be," she murmured. "Got any change on you?"

"Uh, yeah. Why?", he asked. That tunnel had obviously been there for a while.

Jess arched her eyebrows and looked down. She wanted to see how deep it was, or if there even was a bottom.

August got out his phone and turned on the flashlight on it. The tunnel looked creepy with the light shown on it. Yes, there was a bottom.

Jess shivered. "They couldn't be down there could they?" She didn't want them to be, but, of course, they probably were.

"I don't know. Do you think it's safe to go down there?" Spiderwebs hung from the walls of the tunnel. It didn't look like somewhere he wanted to go, but if it led him to Kate he'd do it.

"Doesn't look like it, but that means that your girlfriend is probably down there," she sighed.

"I'm going down there.", he said without hesitation, but his voice trembled a bit.

"I knew you would want to, but we can't. Not yet," Jess said, looking up at him.

"Yet? What are we waiting for?", he asked. Who knows what they're doing to Kate. He hoped she wasn't hurt…

"I'm going to call for backup first," she said, turning to go back to her patrol car.

"What about me?", he asked nervously. He had to do something.

Jess opened her mouth to respond, but she wasn't able to say anything because a high pitched, wailing scream echoed from the tunnel. And it wasn't just any scream…

August flinched. Then started to panic… "S-she's down there!! You have to get her!"

Jess looked at him firmly. "You're sure that's her?"
