Tammy reached up, quickly grabbing the grub and biting into it. Matthew smiled softly.
"They're so cute…"
Tammy reached up, quickly grabbing the grub and biting into it. Matthew smiled softly.
"They're so cute…"
"They really are… I can't wait til they're old enough to eat something less nasty than grubs." Rowan laughed.
Matthew laughed lightly as well.
"It'll be another week or so," Matthew said with a smile.
"Mhmm… do you wanna go look for more while I'm feeding them?" Rowan asked, holding another grub out to Timmy and nudging Tommy again.
Tommy slowly opened his eyes, looking up at Rowan grumpily.
"Alright then." Matthew set Rowan down, leaving his hand on Rowan's shoulder a moment, then left. Timmy took the grub, biting it.
"I know, baby… I'm sorry I woke you. You can go back to sleep after you eat, okay?" Rowan held a grub out to Tommy with a reassuring smile.
Tommy smiled slightly at the assurance, grabbing onto the grub. He ate quickly, finishing before the other two. He curled up, ready to sleep again.
"There you go, baby." Rowan gently rubbed Tommy's head before turning back to the other two. "Are you guys still hungry?"
Tammy and Timmy shook their heads. Tammy grinned, standing up and coming to the edge of the nest. She wanted to explore! Matthew came back soon, the bag full.
"You can explore a little bit, okay? Don't leave my sight. Stay close, Tammy." Rowan gently helped her out of the nest.
Tammy nodded quickly, scrambling out of the nest with a happy chirp. Matthew watched her carefully, sitting down with Rowan.
Rowan kept a close eye on Tammy while she wandered around and left one hand in the nest so that the other two could cling to him if they wanted.
Tommy was already asleep, but Timmy latched onto Rowan's finger. Tammy cooed, running a bit up to Matthew. She spread her wings wide at him, arms up in the arm.
Rowan gently rubbed Timmy's head with a soft smile. "Having fun, Tammy? Staying close?" He asked.
Tammy turned to Rowan, grinning and nodding. Timmy cooed a bit, looking up at Rowan and smiling gently.
"That's good… you feeling good, Timmy?" Rowan asked gently, still rubbing the chick's head.
Timmy nodded. He nuzzled Rowan's finger, smiling a bit. He seemed to be really enjoying the petting. Tammy was still running around, and Matthew reached over to pick her up when she was getting too far away.
"We almost ready to get going, Matthew?" Rowan asked, continuing to pet Timmy. "We want to get to the city as soon as we can…"
Matthew nodded.
"Yeup! All I have to do is put the fire out, and we'll be good to go." Matthew set Tammy down in the nest, smiling a bit. She huffed, not pleased to have her exploring interrupted. Timmy held onto Rowan's hand as he was pet, with no intention of letting go any time soon.
"Sounds good to me." Rowan smiled gently, picked up the nest, and got to his feet. "I'll be waiting over by the horses, alright?" He said before walking off.
Matthew nodded. He set about putting the fire out, pouring water on it and stirring it up. When he was sure the fire was completely out, he walked over to Rowan, scooping him up and holding him bridal style a moment, pulling them up onto the horse.
Rowan flushed a bit when Matthew picked him up and hid his face in the other's chest. "How long are we gonna be riding today?" He asked.
"Well, perhaps we'll reach the city later today. If not, we'll definitely reach it tomorrow morning. We shouldn't be riding for long." Matthew smiled a bit when Rowan hid his face. He held Rowan close a moment more, then set him down on the horse with him and wrapping his arms around Rowan securely.
"Mm… sounds good to me." Rowan huddled close to Matthew on the horse, still keeping a firm hold on the nest. "Maybe we can rest in the city. Sleep in real beds, you know?"
Matthew nodded.
"That would be nice, yes. Would you want your own bed, I'm to presume..?" Matthew personally wanted to keep sleeping together, all cuddled up, but he would understand if Rowan didn't.
