Rowan looked up at Matthew shyly, still hiding his face behind one hand. "C-Can you grab the grubs, please?"

"Okay then," Matthew said, voice soft and smooth. Where did that come from?? Still, he grabbed the grub bag, killing three for Rowan.

Rowan flushed red at Matthew's tone and accepted the grubs in trembling hands. "T-Thanks, Matthew…" He turned towards the nest and held the grubs out to the chicks.

"You're welcome," Matthew said, the time still lingering on his words. The chicks all eventually too their grubs, eating happily with no idea. Matthew slowly wrapped his arms around Rowan, resting his head on the human's shoulder.

Rowan closed his eyes when Matthew hugged him, his face flushed and his heart pounding. He kept quiet, but he seemed very flustered.

"Are you okay?" Matthew asked, a bit concerned by how Rowan was behaving. "A-am I making you uncomfortable?"

"No, n-no, I'm… I'm fine, trust me." Rowan replied, his heart fluttering when he heard Matthew's voice again.

"Okay then…" Matthew lightly nuzzled his head against Rowan's, still a bit concerned.

"Mm…" Rowan turned around to hug Matthew, tucking his head against the other's chest with a happy sigh.

Matthew grinned to himself when Rowan did this. He reached up, running his fingers through Rowan's hair with a smile.

Rowan leaned into Matthew's hand, melting into the other's touch. "Mmmmm… that feels nice…"

Matthew hummed softly, holding Rowan close as he continued.
"I'm glad you like it," he said, a soft purr to his voice.

Rowan closed his eyes and sighed softly, happy to just let Matthew hold him for the moment. "Mmm…"

Matthew smiled, wrapping his arms more securely around Rowan with a content sigh. This was nice, he liked this. Hopefully they'd get to do it a lot more once Rowan has moved…

Rowan smiled gently once he finally relaxed fully. The chicks had already been fed, so he could do what he wanted.

Matthew hummed faintly. He knelt down, mostly because his legs were still a bit sore from all the riding.

Rowan got himself settled on Matthew's lap, resting his head against the other's chest to get comfortable.

Matthew smiled, wrapping his arms back around Rowan when they were settled down.
"This is nice," he finally said aloud, voice soft.

"Mhmm…" Rowan smiled gently as he nodded, wrapping his legs around Matthew's waist.

Matthew hummed, running his fingers lightly up and down Rowan's back. He rested his head on Rowan, smiling softly with closed eyes.

Rowan only occasionally glanced over his shoulder to make sure the chicks were doing alright, but he otherwise kept quiet and still in Matthew's arms.

Tammy had fallen asleep, so thankfully they wouldn't have to deal with her running around. Matthew let out a soft breath, smile growing just a bit with a light blush on his cheeks. He leaned his head back again. The world was calm, in this little area of the forest, and Matthew felt like he could have spent days like this.

Rowan's heart froze as he found himself thinking more about Matthew. He refused to admit to himself that he was actually developing feelings for the guy. But it didn't seem to be so unrealistic… he planned to move here, after all.

Matthew snuggled down with Rowan, nuzzling his cheek a bit. Honestly, the thought of him having feelings for Rowan was… Terrifying, yes, but also exhilarating. He held Rowan a bit closer, humming softly.

Rowan smiled gently when Matthew pulled him closer, happily returning the nuzzles. He decided that it would be best not to think right now.
