He nodded. "Alright." he grabbed a comforter. His hands were starting to get full, but he didn't really mind.
He nodded. "Alright." he grabbed a comforter. His hands were starting to get full, but he didn't really mind.
"Anything else in this place?" Tohru asked, "We needed like… towels, I think. We can get these bagged, then find a place to get soap and toothpaste and all that."
Davin shook his head. "I think we've got enough for now." he replied with a quick smile, looking up at Tohru for a moment, then away again.
"Right, okay!" Tohru replied, adjusting his grip on the things he held.
"Let's go check out, then."
Davin smiled, and nodded, following Tohru over to check out. His arms were full of stuff.
Tohru placed his things down on the counter and fumbled for his wallet again. He waited for the cashier to scan their things before swiping his card.
Davin set his stuff on the counter to be purchased, shaking his head slightly. "We need to get food soon."
"Alright, let's do that, I guess," Tohru said once the items were paid for and bagged.
(Time skip back to the apartment or another event in town?)
(probably back to the apartment)
(Okay, cool)
(I gtg now, sorry, so can you handle the timeskip?)
(Yeah, sure!)
Tohru stepped back into the apartment and flopped down on the couch.
"Alright, I think that's enough for today," he said, "I'm beat."
(thank you!)
Davin chuckled, setting the bags down on the floor and taking off his hood. "Mm. I'll get the sheets and blankets set up on the bed, okay?" he headed into the bedroom.
“Thanks,” Tohru replied.
He was feeling mostly sober by now, but that slight warm buzz remained, and it made him sleepy.
Davin took a few minutes to set the bed up, then came back over to Tohru. "There. Bed is set up and ready." he realized that those words could have two different meanings, and chuckled softly.
“Good. Thanks,” Tohru said, “I know it’s still early, but I might honestly call it a night. I didn’t sleep very well last night, so…”
He sighed heavily.
"Yeah, I get it." Davin replied calmly. "I get nightmares all the time, but I'll try not to wake you up." he gave Tohru a faint smile.
“That’s okay, doesn’t bother me,” Tohru replied, “I just have really bad insomnia sometimes. I’ll lay awake for hours, and it’s… not great, honestly.”
He got up and moved to the bed, slipping under the sheets and comforter, and wrapping himself in his blanket.
“Sorry to mess it up right after you made up the bed…”
"Right." he replied, getting up. "It's fine. Don't worry about it too much." he slipped into his side of the bed, laying on his side with his tail wound around his legs.
Tohru found his gaze wandering to Davin. He still felt horrible about the whole situation, and felt like he couldn’t apologize enough. He rolled back over and let out a heavy sigh. It was probably better if he just slept and didn’t think about it.
Davin lay awake for a while, staring at the wall and just breathing. Just processing all of this. He had a roommate now. And Tohru seemed…Tohru seemed like a decent guy, really.
Tohru laid there awake for a while, thinking about how badly he’d messed up, but that slowly started to give way to how exhausted he was. Tohru stirred a bit, sank deeper into his pillow, and began to drift off.
Davin sighed softly, and fell asleep after a while, curled on his side with his tail around his legs. He sighed quietly, shaking his head a little bit.
Tohru woke up about an hour after going to sleep. He got up and paced the apartment for a few minutes, then tried to wind himself back down. He found his gaze settling back over Davin.
It’s a shame that we had to meet like this.
Davin was asleep, his curly hair spread out over the pillow, the blankets tucked up around his shoulders. His face was relaxed in sleep, and he looked almost younger.
