“Alright, well let’s get this done with quickly, and we can go home and rest,” Tohru suggested.
The waitress then came by with the bill, and Tohru handed her some cash. She worked through her pouch for change and handed it back to him.
“Have a nice day!” she said, waving at the two guys.
He smiled a little, and waved back at her as they left the restaurant. He put his hands in his pockets, taking a deep breath.
Tohru leaned up against Davin, not really thinking about all the affection his body language might convey.
“Hey, what’s up?” he laughed, “You seem kinda down, yeah?”
Davin blinked at that, looking down at Tohru. "Hm? Oh. Sorry. No, I'm fine, Tohru. Just a bit tired, I guess." He shot Tohru a quick smile.
“Yeah, me too,” Tohru yawned, “I could use a nap.”
Tohru smiled back, his gaze fixed lazily on Davin.
“Heh. You’re cute when you smile.”
Oops. His filter was kind of gone at this point.
Davin blinked slowly, looking at Tohru. "Uhm. Thanks." he said slowly, studying the other male carefully. "Are you drunk?"
“I’m a little tipsy,” Tohru replied, “but I’m good to go. No worries!”
"Okay. If you say so." he responded slowly, looking at Tohru carefully. "Now. Let's get sheets, alright?"
“Yup,” Tohru agreed, “Let’s see… which shop would have that…?”
He pondered a bit, then looked to Davin for guidance. Tohru kept standing almost uncomfortably close to him.
Davin swallowed softly, looking over at Tohru for a long moment, before looking around. "Uhm…maybe this one." he said, heading towards it.
Tohru followed behind, taking in his surroundings.
“Yeah, this seems about right. I see linens and stuff back there,” he said, pointing to a section of the store.
He nodded, and headed for that section. "We don't need good quality. But I refuse to take shit quality, either."
“That’s fair enough,” Tohru agreed, starting for where he saw the sheet sets stacked up on shelves.
“Do you remember the bed size?”
He bounced over to look at the pillows instead.
"Uhhh. I believe it's a queen." he replied after a moment, combing through the sheets for a decent set.
“Alright, I’ll find us some pillows. Do you prefer firmer or softer ones?” Tohru asked, pressing his hand into some of the pillows to see what he preferred, “Actually, I’ll let you come pick. Also, this is all on me, y’know, since you did the down payment on our place.”
"Hm. Softer." he replied with a smile. "But alright." he came over with a pair of sheets tucked under his arm.
Tohru opted for a firmer pillow and tucked it under his arm after checking that the price was okay. He waited for Davin to make a decision, staying quieter than he had been in a bit.
Davin picked out a pillow, tucking it under his arm. "We need some blankets; sheets won't be enough." he added. "Let's go find some."
“They’re over… there,” Tohru replied, pointing down to the end of the aisle.
He led the way, looking at the prices of the different blankets and taking that into account before anything else.
Davin nodded, looking with him. "We should get…I'd say three, just in case. One comforter and two others." he said as he examined them.
“Alright,” Tohru said, examining them some more.
He picked out a very soft, purple blanket from the shelf, then started scanning over the comforters.
“What’re you thinking for the comforter? Something that looks nice, or something more comfortable?”
"Comfortable. If we hate how it looks, we can get a cover." he said with a soft smile, looking over at Tohru, then at the blankets again.
“That’s true. I’m thinking just a solid color. Can’t go wrong with that,” Tohru suggested, continuing to scan the shelves.
"Alright." he replied softly, picking out a blanket and looping it over his arm.
Tohru tilted his head. "You wanna pick this one out? I'm not too picky, personally."
He ran his hand across the shelf distractedly, thinking about all of the other things they would need, but as soon as one thought would enter his head, another would push it aside, and he'd just forget.
