Thesa waved a dismissive hand, not turning back to him, "I'm going to get drunk, no scratch that, I want to get drunk and you won't stop me without some great bribing. Discussing business always gives me a headache. And if you don't want to deal with me having a hangover, then just ignore me tomorrow. Simple." She frowned when she realized she didn't have anything to drink on the ship and spun on her heel, turning to get off the ship and go raid Harlin's fridge.
Zev moved and walked in front of her, blocking her. "Nope. We're meeting up with Alexi in the next few days, and i highly doubt you want his first impression of you to be of you hungover."
"Back off sparky, I'll be sober by the time we meet Alexi. I have a few days before we can leave here anyway. By that time I won't be hungover," She assured him, squeezing between him and the metal of the wall and towards the door.
Zev grabbed onto her shoulder, his grip hard and unyielding. "Thesa. No." He replied coldly. "You are staying on the ship."
Thesa glared at him when he told her no and grabbed his hand on her shoulder, trying to pull it off so she could leave, "No. Zev, I'm going to go get myself a drink or too. You're not going to stop me. I can think for myself."
"You can think, yes. But thinking straight is another matter. The human brain becomes fuzzed and unclear when drunk, therefore I must question your logic in this situation." Zev replied calmly, not moving his hand.
"I know that a human brain becomes fuzzy and unclear, that's the feeling I'm craving right now," She replied, looking up at him with less of a glare and more of a glaring daggers look, "So, you don't have to question my logic. Can I go get my drinks now copper brain?"
"My brain contains only 7% copper; not enough to be called a copper brain." He replied. "And why would you want your mind to be fuzzy and unclear?"
Thesa huffed, shaking her head as she once again turned her attention to trying to pry his hand off of her shoulder, "Because I want to? I don't know, I don't like being on this planet and being fuzzy minded and less alert helps. There's your answer, now I'm getting my drinks."
Zev raised an eyebrow. "We are on the most crime-ridden planet in the system, with the highest chance of you getting raped, kidnapped, or worse, and you want to get drunk and unable to defend yourself?"
"Kill me now," She muttered under her breath, shaking her head and sighing, "Look, pea brain, I'm coming right back on the ship. I'm going to go to Harlin's, take a few drinks, come back here, and lock that door. It's not like i'm waltzing around in my underwear on the street, drunker than a skunk."
Zev squinted, running the numbers in his head. "Hm." He shrugged. "You aren't wrong. However, there is still the chance of something happening and you getting hurt."
"Then you can come with if you're so worried about my safety, wacky," She replied, clearly frustrated now, "I could've been there and back by now."
Zev simply looked at her levelly. "Fine. But to your friends house and back. No other stops." he replied, letting go of her shoulder.
"Yes mother," She replied in a mocking voice, rolling her eyes and moving towards the door. Thesa opened the door and started out of the ship, muttering to herself and not waiting for him to catch up as she headed towards Harlin's house.
Zev followed her calmly, his hands folded behind his back.
She continued muttering to herself as she walked, heading to what looked like a run down apartment building and heading inside. Thesa clearly knew what she was doing and started up the stairs, counting the floors.
Zev followed her quietly, shaking his head a little.
Eventually she reached the door she had been looking for and she knocked out a pattern just for the fun of it, rocking on her heels and waiting for Harlin to let her in. All she needed was a few drinks, which he probably knew since that was one of the only reasons she would bother actually coming to their apartment.
"Yeah?" Harlin said as he opened the door, a knowing smile and a roll of his eyes as soon as he saw who it is, "Little Thief, I figured it was you. Let me guess too, you're going to raid the fridge and then slip back out?" He didn't wait for her to answer as he opened the door and motioned for her to come inside, as well as Zev, calling out after her, "Teagan is here as well if you want to say hi quick."
Zev followed Thesa inside silently. He looked over at Harlin for a moment, wondering who Teagan is, but didn't ask. He looked at Thesa.
"I'll say hi before I go," She replied, weaving through the entryway and into the small kitchen with purpose in her eyes. The door to the fridge was quickly opened and she started rifling around inside, pulling out a few cans and bottles along with a bowl of what looked like leftovers before closing it again.
Harlin followed Zev after closing the door, standing in the doorway to the kitchen and laughing lightly, "You look like you're on a mission thief, in a hurry?"
Thesa shrugged, "A little, idiot here was worried about me drinking and so he had to come with since he didn't trust my decisions." She set the things on an open patch of counter space before walking off once again, calling out with a smile, "Teagan, I'm here!"
"This is the most dangerous of the planets, Thesa; of course I wasn't going to let you roam the streets half drunk." Zev replied, still in that unperturbed, calm tone. He followed after her, eyes watching her carefully.
The pitter patter of little feet could be heard and soon a little girl came running out of a side room, teddy bear in hand and a bright smile on her face, "Auntie Thes!" She called, jumping into Thesa's outstretched arms when she crouched down and laughing as Thesa stood back up with her in her arms.
"I missed you Tea," Thesa said with a rare genuine smile, getting a giggle in response as she hugged her tighter and didn't let her go. She figured Zev would be confused by the sight and by Teagan calling her auntie, but she didn't bother explaining anything.
Zev cocked his head a little, eyes studying them as if they were some sort of enigma he had yet to decipher. She hadn't said anything about having any siblings, or a niece. Which was interesting.
Harlin smiled and watched them, shaking his head, "Alright you two, say goodbye Teagan, Thesa has to leave." He walked off and Teagan sighed, hugging Thesa tight again.
"Alright, I'll see you again sometime Tea, but now I have to leave." She crouched back down and gently let her go, smiling and poking her in the side, "Keep your dad out of trouble for me." Teagan nodded and giggled, stepping away and waving as Thesa stood back up and walked back to Zev.
