The adhd realization of anger that everyone else is functioning much easier than you , and you too can achieve that level if you could just get your hand on a pill that's barely out of reach. I feel.
jnfbjd it's been. bad. lately. I can't focus on anything. my room is an unholy wreck, I can't focus on my schoolwork, or anything. literally anyhting. fishbkgsjdbxg
I'm sorry mate. It sounds like things are really overwhelming.
thanks. it kind of is, and I'm taking the fucking ACT tomorrow
The whole overall administration is pretty trumpy/conservative. They'd probably support the sub.
The teachers who do use preferred name/pronouns keep it hush hush between them and their students. They might be disciplined, idk tho. There are no policies in place to protect trans students.
Ok I just looked it up, and there are technically policies protecting trans students.
However it's only about anti-harassment, and if the student wants access to a neutral bathroom/locker room, the parents have to be involved in the decision. Nothing on names/pronouns from what I see.
grossssssss. that sucks, man :/

oh
Wait the parents have to be involved?? what about closeted kids who can't be out at home??

Exactly
I'm that kid but I've never asked for gender space related accommodations. I took gym online and just try to use the restroom during class when no one is in there.
also this whole conversation reminds me of a girl I know who is very transphobic, and it's bc one of her friends at public school heard another girl get raped in the girls' bathroom by a guy. so clearly trans women are at fault bc otherwise the guy could never have gotten in (insert a massive eyeroll here) and now the school doesn't allow trans kids to use their preferred bathroom, and has fucking guards/teachers/something at the doors to the bathrooms to enforce the rule
like. i feel so bad about this girl who got raped. but at the same time. it is not the fault of trans women that a cis dude went into the women's bathroom.
it is not the fault of trans women that a cis dude went into the women's bathroom.
Exactly. It's shirking the responsibility of men to do something about rape culture by blaming it on an already marginalized community.
It sucks that public restroom aren't safe tho. I hope that girl is doing well now.

yes!
yeah. idk if she is, I don't know her personally, but i really hope she's ok

Well the argument goes that normalization of different sexes in opposite bathrooms will make it easier for rapists which seems reasonable. Not that trans folks will be at fault for that -though that is what some believe- but yeah. Obviously sex segregation has never stopped rapists but it does make sense that people will take advantage of it

sir. cis men can and do go into women's bathrooms anyway. women get raped all the time by men. men get raped by men. whether or not trans people can go into the bathrooms they prefer has pretty much zero impact on rape, bc it happens anyways, and I hate that that is a true sentence
fuck the patriarchy
yeah i was venting, my apologies if it seemed like I was attacking/angry with you! I know what you were saying, and I still stand by everything I said
Oh okay thanks
I think this is a complex issue like everything else that a lot of people miss the nuance of, instead turning to simple political talking points and generalities. I’m honestly not even sure where I stand on this issue
why do bathrooms need to be gendered? just have a nice hall of unisex/fam bathrooms with properly closing and locking doors. Stalls are bs anyways, too many stories of wide cracks and kids crawling under the doors and stuff. Plus, avoids awkward situations that involve noise like opening products, crying children, and other bodily functions that can be embarrassingly loud.
1 people get awkward
2 men are horrid
if only we had money to build nicer areas like in schools…
On that topic I want to be rude to my city's education department for trying to pass useless bills like trying to put multiple cameras in each schoolroom instead of lowering the teacher-student ratio or employing councilors and sped teachers , fixing the teacher shortage (instead they let go a bunch of teachers for their political leanings), or rebuilding the corrupt administration that is trying to remove teacher's lunch and planning periods so they can sub for no pay.
i hate that there are so many men that think getting kicked in the balls is literally more painful than fucking childbirth like sir. wtf
In their defence. Ball kicks are profound pain and we haven't even felt cramps
yes. but. is getting kicked in the nads more painful than pushing an entire fucking human out of you?? i feel like logically, no
