Also I think that if there are kids in a house, or any mentally ill person, there should be extra regulations for anyone who could own a gun. It's been almost a year since Parkland and there hasn't been enough changes. People are still dying because of guns. I'm not super educated about this btw. But changes need to be made and there needs to be more regulation. You shouldn't be able to walk in and out in less than an hour. There should be background checks for everyone

@ShadeStar

Yeah that sounds good, also keep the gun in like a passcoded safe or something at their house. Since most of the guns that kids use in school shootings are their parents.

Where did you get this information?

@RedTheLoveless

There are in a lot of states. But if there's nothing on you than it makes sense that it wouldn't take long.
Btw the thing I was talking about goes to the basics. Not concealed or the high caliber.

^^^ Can confirm it's really that easy. I know because I got my hunting rifle a few years ago with my dad and they only really asked for our IDs and gave us the paperwork to fill out before buying the rifle. (Yes I only use a gun to hunt. I hunt for meat. I honor my kill by using as much as I can from the animal and consuming the heart if I can.)

…..Logic? It's more of an assumption than anything considering most of the kids wouldn't technically be allowed to own a gun.

I know for my dad's concealed weapon he had to go through a million hoops before he got his permit. And he was/ still is in the military. So there is proper regulation around some guns but not all.

I used to hunt all the time, but I went through extensive pre-military trailing with my dad before I was allowed anywhere near a gun. So it can go either way regarding parents.

@actual-fandom-trash

Well it's different in each state
also I was about to search up the regulations for Texas before remembering that I'm using a school chromebook and that's like super suspicious

What are the rates of attacks without guns in Japan?
And what do you think Eris, about the, "If we have guns we don't need to worry because we can defend ourselves" argument.

That's a great question, i actually don't know. But if people are going around chopping people with katanas I think at that point they may have deserved it. (poor joke. sorry guys)
What do you mean "we can defend ourselves"? Like we don't need a military or police force anymore?

@RedTheLoveless

As always it is hard to debate when everyone agrees…

True… one or a few of us could play Devil's Advocate maybe? If not then we can just move on to another topic?

@The-N-U-T-Cracker

Alright, I googled some stuff and while I have no idea what some of these things are, I'll list them anyway

Death penalty
Plastic surgery
Abortion (I know a few things about this)
Climate change
Animal rights (I know a few things about this too)
Gun control (I've seen some details about this but not enough to know how to debate it)
School uniforms
Trump (already mentioned, I'm just bringing it back because I know absolutely nothing about him)
Immigration
Religious rights
The US military

…There are some topic ideas for you, go crazy.

My education system is just "Sit around and maybe read some Bible history so it looks like I'm learning" because my mom is usually very busy and can't just sit down and teach us, so we teach ourselves.
