At the very very least tampons shouldn't be taxed as luxury products, or taxed at all.
Tampons and pads are a necessity. It will never be socially acceptable for women to bleed all over the place, and periods can't simply be stopped, so preventative measures against that bleeding should be free.

Yeah. Women who can't afford pads or tampons (or many of them) will be bleeding out all day, ruin their clothes, be covered in nasty dry blood, and if they only can afford very few tampons (because they're taxed so highly) are at risk for Toxic Shock Syndrome. Which is deadly.

low key had no idea pads were the preferred item

@HighPockets group

The idea of sticking a tampon up there makes me very uncomfortable, and I'm scared that I would forget to take it out and get TSS. But I totally see why swimmers and such prefer them.

Actually tampons can make you ill with disease, my mom got some from wearing tampons, so she never buys them unless Brianna needs them. I don’t use tampons, I would be uncomfortable with them but that’s just me.

Once you use one for the first time, it's as easy as breathing. Honestly, they are magic.

I’d rather get stabbed with a knife then wear a tampon in my honest opinion.

@Moxie group

I would argue its actually once you get down the process of using one. Because going to school with a tampon that is not properly inserted hurts and is not fun or easy

It’s like putting a reed on a Clarinet and that took 4 years to learn correctly, I’m not doing that with something inside of me, plus it’s weird. It makes me cringe just thinking about it…

It really comes to this though. Why should other people be forced to pay for your needs?

People are forced to pay for things all the time. Why can't the money go towards helping women not bleed to death instead of even more military things?

@amber_is_in_a_loop

How much tax is payed, and how much of that goes to things that actually serve public interest? I'm sure the governement can spare a fund for thta6

They should. I don't see any issue with providing such a simple and down right cheap service.

Products are already offered for way less in public bathrooms, 25 cents on average. (Ladies ick I know but bare with me) So obviously it can be done, what's holding people back? grumpy white men in politics It wouldn't be horrible to provide good products for girls and women to maintain their health.
