Adelia took a deep breath. "Sisters. I beg of you. Repent, and be welcomed back with joy. Unnecessary violence is not the answer here." She stiffened and held her ground as the sparks nearly brushed the skirt of her dress. However, when Zelda lunged, she was abruptly caught off guard. She brought her hands up quickly in an attempt to defend herself with whatever light she could summon.
"Yes it is," Zelda yelled "This is the end, sister!" She landed next to Adelia, dishevelled as could get.
Reese seemed a little scared. Was all this really necessary? Then he thought he saw someone around the corner of the stairwell and ran up towards them.
Kathrina waved her hand and the undead charged. The gargoyle lumbered toward Adelia, its maw opening to release a hollow, metallic sound equivalent of a war cry. Kathrina stayed back, letting her troops fight before she would.
Veronica grabbed another scroll and read it aloud, pointing a finger at Adelia. A purple lightning bolt shot toward her, giving off an air of pure malevolence.
Adelia faced her eldest sister, hands raised in defense. "Zelda, please," she whispered.
The war cry of the gargoyle startled her, but as she turned her head toward the sound, she was able to see the lightning coming at her. She used her own powers to disperse it harmlessly into the air.
Reese, who had previously run up the stairs, walked towards Jovie. "Who are you?"
Zelda lunged at Adelia again, but missed and momentarily fell on her face.
(Just to clarify, should’ve done this earlier. The red scroll on the floor is basically a fire bomb. The sparks were the initial activation)
The undead, led by the gargoyle, charge at Adelia, swords and claws reaching to grab her and tear her apart.
Veronica cried out angrily, grabbing another scroll and reading. She pointed at Adelia’s feet. The ground below her starting to rot away. Tendrils of decay reach up to grab at Adelia’s feet.
“Hey, that’s mine!”Kathrina snapped.
“You weren’t using it!”Veronica retorted.
Kathrina snarled.
Adelia whipped around and called her powers for a strike… but she hesitated. Zelda was her sister. It was nearly impossible for Adelia to strike her. As the gargoyle charged, Adelia tried to move out of the way, but her feet were caught by Veronica's spell. She used her own magic to cut herself free with barely enough time to dodge the gargoyle's initial attack.
Jovie's hand quickly flew to her waist, where her sword was sheathed and concealed from view. She looked at Reese suspiciously. "I could ask you the same thing."
"I'm Reese," they said as they looked around, "I'm honestly just trying to figure out what's going on here." They were genuinely just curious.
Zelda got up, letting out a deep growl as she partially shifted to dragon form.
Jovie looked Reese up and down. They looked harmless enough. "Me too," she admitted, letting her hand stray from her sword.
(Hold up, where'd Camie's response go?)
(Sorry! I deleted it so I could respond to yours and Serpentess' in the same post.)

(I realized after it was reposted. Don't worry about it, I was just a little confused.)
“Oh, this is getting annoying,”Veronica muttered.
She pulled out another fire-bomb scroll and threw it, aiming for Adelia directly.
Kathrina called another gargoyle, commanding it to charge as well. It gave a war cry and joined the horde rushing to surround Adelia.
"Do you know anything about what's going on? All I know is that my mom's been talking about this 'revolution day' for a while." They wanted to know what was going on as a way to decide what to do. All they knew right now was confusion and chaos.
Zelda grabbed onto Adelia's leg with her teeth, her eyes full of crazed rage.
The fire-bomb scroll brushed Adelia's arm, setting her sleeve on fire. She quickly managed to brush the fire off, but then something she couldn't quite see bit her leg. Adelia shrieked in pain and collapsed onto the ground, surrounded by the gargoyle and the horde of skeletons and undead.
"I have no idea. Her Majesty promised to tell me, but… I don't know," Jovie replied.
"Hmm," they said, deep in thought, "I thought that would be the answer."
Reese then heard the shriek and looked in the direction it was coming from.
"How about we bring this outside for the last leg of the fight," Zelda said, "there's something I'd like to do."
The gargoyles reach for her, grabbing at her arms and picking up Adelia. The soldiers and skeletons follow, swords poised to strike.
“Surrender, sister. Surrender yourself, your titles, everything, to Zelda. Or I’ll let the skeletons kill you, then bring you back so my sisters can torture you then,”Kathrina called.
“What? That’s Zelda’s part.”Veronica replied, bewildered.
(We gonna get a dragon form fight and betrayal over here.)
(Betrayal? ‘Eyes glance around warily’. Is Zelda going to betray the twins?)
Jovie heard the shriek too, and her head jerked up quickly. Her hand flew to her sword, and this time, she unsheathed it. "C'mon," she urged Reese.
As the gargoyles picked her up, Adelia felt herself grow dizzy from the pain and the effort. The very effort of talking even exhausted her, so she chose to remain quiet. Her powers were weakening by the second, but she refused to surrender herself and her kingdom.
Reese watched this conversation from a distance at first. "There seems to be a lot of death mentioned here." After hearing their name being called, Reese's wings flared up, mainly out of anxiety, and he followed Jovie.
"I'll kill her, Kathrina." Her wings flared.
“Okay. I’ll still resurrect her for Veronica, though they’ll be plenty of things keeping her in place,”Kathrina said with a shrug.
“Thank you, Kati. How unusually considerate of you,”Veronica replied.
The gargoyles carried Adelia down the stairs and out into the courtyard, the undead following.
Veronica and Kathrina followed, waiting for the strike that would kill Adelia.
Jovie crept behind them, making sure to stay out of sight. Watching her queen fall was breaking her, but she tried to be patient. Her sword was ready to hopefully intercept a killing blow.
Adelia's head lolled to the side. The pain from her leg shot through the rest of her body, undoubtedly weakening her.
Zelda panted heavily before shifting to full dragon form. She was still very dishevelled and crazed.
Reese, with their wings out, flew down the staircase. "There's no way this is fair," he said only loud enough that he and Jovie could hear, "this doesn't seem necessary."
Zelda got ready for the blow, forcing flames up her throat.
"It's definitely not," Jovie agreed. Anger burned inside her. There was no way she could watch her queen die and not do anything to stop it. She didn't care what promises she'd made to Adelia, she had to step in now.
As Zelda readied her fire, Jovie cried out, "NO!" She sprinted the short distance and stepped between Adelia and her sisters. Her sword was at the ready, and her eyes were ablaze.
Adelia lifted her head. "I told you not to," she whispered.
"I'm sorry, Your Majesty," Jovie murmured, keeping her main focus on the other three sisters. "But I couldn't stand by and do nothing."
