Zelda let out a muffled cackle. "Soldiers, let us in the castle and let these skeletons plough you down! Whoever doesn't die by the skeletons' hands shall hang themselves on the balcony!" She walked closer to them as she let out the instructions, a cackle in her throat.
Reese, on the other hand, still seemed confused. They knew nothing of the history or why they were attacking this place.
(Still want to know about the ‘online list’. I don’t where it is)
Veronica smirked, but doesn’t object to the harsh orders of Zelda. Though, she giggled about Zelda’s wording.
The soldiers opened the doors and stood helplessly as the skeletons washed over them. In moments, the undead army had gained new members. The skeletons rushed forward into the castle while the fresh soldiers stood waiting to escort the three sisters.
“I do love the dead so. They’re so polite,”Kathrina mused.
“You are just morbid,”Veronica teased.
Kathrina laughed.
(Are you on a computer?)
Adelia heard the sounds of violence from below. She quickly turned to her maid and looked her firmly in the eyes. "I need you to escape. Whatever you do, don't follow me," she urged.
Jovie's panic turned to confusion, which gave way to determination. "I'm sorry, but I can't do that Your Majesty. I am sworn to protect you, and I will not abandon you."
The queen pressed her lips together tightly and thought for a moment. Suddenly, a skeleton came around a corner behind her. Jovie's eyes widened, and she quickly moved into a defensive position in front of the queen.
"Jovie!" Adelia cried, but the young maid suddenly unsheathed a hidden sword at her waist.
"Let me protect you, Your Majesty," she replied, setting herself firmly on guard. "I was trained for this."
(Iphone. Is it only available on computers?)
(I think so. If you're on a computer, it's a little grey box in the bottom right corner of the screen that says "Currently Online", and when you hover over it, it extends with all the people that are online)
Zelda strolled into the chaos-filled castle, Reese following behind her. "Well, sister," she monologued to herself, "look who's winning now."
(Unrelated to the list thing, but are we still doing the child confusion?)
(Oh, I turned the phone sideways and saw it. It’s not there with portrait mode, but I got it. Yay!)
(So you asking me, Camie, or both of us, @RiverTheSeawing? I’m casual about it)
(If you want to River, I think it will make it interesting)
(Why am I just imagining Adelia giving Zelda trouble for "enchanting a child", Reese being confused as hell and Adelia telling Reese that she can fix whatever Zelda did? Why is that the main thing on my mind?)
(This is what you're talking about, right?)
Veronica and Kathrina followed Zelda, making jokes about skeletons. As they walked, Veronica took a sword from a dead soldier, scrutinizing the weapon, then handed it to Kathrina and grabbed another.
“Why thank you, sister,”Kathrina said, giggling.
“You’re very welcome, Kati.”
(I was asking Camie since I and her were the only ones who needed to be replying for the thing to happen. Also, yes, child confusion shall happen.)
(Okay. Just checking)
(I did make my reply. It just got a bit lost in the handful of replies above)
(Yep, I saw it. I'm just awaiting Camie's reply.)
The skeleton rushed at Jovie, but she deflected it smoothly with her sword and quickly disposed of it. (I'm sorry I suck at writing currently) Then, she turned back to face the queen. "I'm sorry for disobeying your orders, my queen, but I refuse to leave you here alone to fend for yourself against whatever threat this is."
Adelia smiled sadly. What she truly wanted to say, the words she longed to tell her maid more than anything else, burned in her throat. It was currently impossible to tell her. What came out was, "Thank you, Jovie. Your loyalty gives me hope."
From downstairs, voices floated up to reach her ears. Terrifyingly familiar voices. Adelia went pale, and Jovie reached forward to steady her. "Your Majesty? What is it?"
Zelda cackled. "Finally! What's ours is almost back!"
(Short reply, I know.)
“Yeah!”Veronica replied to Zelda.
Kathrina didn’t reply to Zelda, instead patting a zombie on the soldier. She smiled, despite no reaction from the zombie.
“You’re touching that thing?”Veronica gasped.
“Yes. You got a problem with that?”Kathrina huffed.
“No,”Veronica warily replied.
Kathrina snickered. Veronica laughed in reply.
"Follow me," Adelia whispered. She led the way closer to the stairwell, where her sisters would be passing by any second.
"My queen," Jovie hissed quietly, "please tell me what is going on."
"There are some thing I've kept secret," Adelia replied slowly. "And I will tell you everything. But right now, just consider it family issues."
"Family issues?" Jovie asked, looking more confused than ever.
Adelia hesitated. "I… have three sisters. And they don't exactly like me."
Zelda led her group towards the stairwell. "This is it, sisters. It's the final confrontation!"
Reese halted to a stop behind her as they reached the stairwell. They didn't know what any of this meant or who they were confronting.
Kathrina commanded a few undead soldiers to go first up the stairs, an evil grin appearing on her face.
“It’ll be so fun to see our pitiful sister whimper and cry,”Kathrina said.
“Ooh, yeah. Hey, Zelda, if you torture her, can I take her fingernails? I haven’t used my needle in so long!”Veronica asked.
Kathrina rose an eyebrow at her. Veronica crossed her arms across her chest, grinning at her.
“And you call me morbid,”Kathrina commented.
“We’re both demented in our own ways,”Veronica replied.
They giggled together.
"Of course you can have her fingernails."
Adelia took Jovie's shoulders, forcing her to look deep into her eyes. "Whatever you do, don't let them see you. I don't care what happens to me, I need you to stay hidden. Do you understand?"
Jovie bit her lip gently but nodded.
"Good."
Taking a deep breath, Adelia strode out of hiding and faced her sisters who waited at the bottom of the stairwell. With a sweep of her hand, the soldiers climbing the stairs all collapsed.
"Zelda. Kathrina. Veronica." Her voice carried through the halls, commanding power and dignity. "My sisters, vengeance has brought you here, but it will not serve you well."
"We're already in, are we not," Zelda said, "we've almost already reclaimed our kingdom."
Reese walked to stand beside Zelda so that they could be seen. They looked up at the strange lady, trying to figure out what was going on. A look of confusion and slight panic was on their face.
Kathrina glared fiercely at Adelia, waving her hand. The soldiers unsheathed their weapons and skeletons soon joined. She pulled out a small bottle, coating her sword’s blade with its inky black contents.
Veronica huffed, waving dismissively at Adelia. She held her sword, magically shrinking it to a dagger, waiting for Zelda.
"This kingdom is no longer rightfully yours," Adelia replied smoothly. "You lost that privilege when you betrayed our family." Her eyes flickered to Reese, noting their existence, but not yet acknowledging them.
