“You be good, Victor. Watch the house for me, and when I get back, you might have some more friends,”Veronica said as farewell to her fat tabby tomcat.
Veronica then shrieks with glee at being able to ride a dragon. Kathrina simply gets on Zelda.
Adelia made her way back through the gardens. Standing at the entrance back to the castle was Jovie.
"My queen?" she asked as she approached. "Are you alright? You've been out here for hours."
"Yes, I'm alright," Adelia murmured, still bracing her head. "I just need to reach the last rays of sunlight before dusk fades."
Jovie straightened dutifully. "Of course, my queen. Would you like my help?"
Adelia considered for a moment. While she made constant efforts to refute help, she looked into her maid's dedicated, shining eyes. Finally, she nodded. "Yes, please help me."
Quickly, the two made their way to the Sun Balcony.
(Hello?)
(Heyyyy)
(@RiverTheSeawing around?)
She dropped everyone off at the kingdom before returning to human form. "It's time." She smiled grimly.
(Not trying to complain, I know some folk are busier than others, but why are your replies so tiny @RiverTheSeawing? So much more can be done. And, is it the ‘kingdom’ or the ‘castle’, I thought we were already in the kingdom? Don’t mind me, just a bit confused)
Veronica giggles, clapping her hands excitedly. Kathrina sighs, waiting impatiently for Veronica to calm down.
(Like, that area right outside of the castle, just outside of the walls. I also couldn't think of much else to write for that reply, they'll get longer soon enough.)
(Okay. I’m not sure if the area outside the walls has a name, but I guess it could just be called ‘outside the gate’. ‘Uncertain shrug’. Or courtyard if it’s the area on the inside of the walls instead of the outside)
The dusky light was fading quickly into the night. Adelia opened the doors to the Sun Balcony, Jovie behind her for support, and reached up quickly. Her fingertips brushed the light, and a calm feeling swept over her. The queen visibly relaxed, and behind her, Jovie let out a sigh of relief. Adelia was cutting it close recently with restoring her powers at the beginning and end of each sun. But she still always made it, and that was what mattered.
(Hello?)
(Hey, I'm here. We just need @RiverTheSeawing)
(Sup. Let's do this epic battle.)
(Yay, we’re all here! ‘Celebratory dance’. Let’s do this.)
Zelda led her sisters and child into the courtyard, where the revolution officially began. She pulled out her weapon and instructed Reese to pull out their's, just in case there were a few knights that couldn't be hypnotized. "It has begun," she announced to the knights, "join us or perish by your own hand."
Reese seemed a little hesitant to brace for battle, but followed their mother's commands. It was all for their best, right?
(Aaand we lost Camie.)
(How can you tell? And give me a sec, I’ll write a reply)
Veronica followed Zelda. Kathrina put on a ring and called to the dead outside the castle, bidding them to join the fight.
In the courtyard, Veronica giggled and started casting, a large bubble of reddish light forming above her.
“Say the word, sister. Any that see this thing pop will be hypnotized. I can make these things forever,”Veronica said, snickering.
Ancient skeletons crawled from the ground, making their way to Kathrina. One particular individual, still holding an ancient sword, stepped in front of Kathrina and bowed.
“Greetings. We shall wait until an adequate amount of soldiers have gathered, then march,”Kathrina explained to the skeleton.
It nodded and turned away, raising its sword high, ready to call for the charge.
(If you check the currently online list, it doesn't say her name.)
Plenty of soldiers rushed in and Zelda raised a hand. "Now!"
Reese looked surprised but got back in a fighting stance. They chose not to say anything, as they knew anything their mom did must have been reasonable. Right?
(Aye, Camie's back! This is gonna be great.)
(Sorry, I'm here now!!!)
Adelia turned to see Jovie rushing onto the balcony, her eyes filled with worry.
"Jovie? What is it?" the queen asked.
"The courtyard," her maid replied breathlessly.
(Not sure where the online list is, still new here. Heck, I didn’t even know a list existed.)
(Oh, hey. ‘Big happy wave’)
Veronica waved a hand and the bubble popped, a bright light flashing through the whole courtyard. She giggled at the sight of the soldiers stumbling to a halt.
“Fight for us,”Veronica said.
The soldiers nodded, waiting for orders.
“Zelda,”Veronica said, waving at the soldiers invitingly.
A large contingent of skeletons surrounded Kathrina and she nodded at the leader. The skeleton with the sword lowered its arm at the gate. The contingent charged, flooding through the gates.
Kathrina casually followed. When she entered the courtyard, she smiled at the horde of skeletons, all waiting for something to attack.
Adelia quickly raced through the halls towards the courtyard. Jovie was hot on her heels.
"What did you see?" Adelia asked as they ran.
Jovie's eyes glistened with fear. "Some kind of army. Skeletons or something. It's terrifying."
Adelia's face instantly drained of emotion. "Oh no."
