"No promises. Alright, two steps to the left and jump like there's a hot piece of ass just over the ravine."
"No promises. Alright, two steps to the left and jump like there's a hot piece of ass just over the ravine."
"What!?"
"Jump, fucker! You want your ankles chewed off by a pack of Tonnyknockers?"
"I'm just gonna pretend I know what you're talking about," he muttered, then did as Runner instructed. He jumped over whatever was in his way without setting off any triggers or the like. "Kay. Now what?"
"Uh…" He began pacing. "Four steps forward, then start crawling. There are some waist-high flying axes that would love to catch you in the tummy and show what you had for lunch to the world."
"Fun!" He lowered himself to the dirt and army-crawled under the axes, his heart beating rapidly whenever he felt the air of one whooshing just above him.
"Ohh, shit! Faster, fucker! Fire!" he shouted, hopping up and down in frustration.
"Gods dammit, I'm going as fast as I can!" He brushed one of his rings, and time seemed to speed up just for Rhydar as he speed-crawled.
A wall slammed down right behind his feet, stopping the jets of fire from going any farther. Runner let out a breath of relief, wiping his forehead. "Alright, up on your feet and 10 steps forward, then a left."
He deactivated the ring and got up, brushing himself off before heading forward and turning left.
"Stop, stop, stop. Mines." He cursed. "Take a step about a foot to the right."
He slid to the right. "This is gonna take a while, I just know it."
"Two feet foreward and to the left. There will be a mine right under your ass, so don't slip."
"I'm a thief. I don't slip." He took two steps forward and turned to the left.
"One more step to the right, then a quick hop and you're home free."
He did what he was told. "Ah. That was easier than I thought. Would be better if I wasn't blind."
"Your choice, dude," he said with a shrug. "Alright, 5 steps, then pin yourself against the left hand wall. Buzz saws coming out of thr right wall."
He pressed his body against the wall, sucking in to make himself as thin as possible. "What now?"
"Shuffle three feet, then wait for me to tell you to move to the other one." He rubbed his chin, realizing hos stressful this must be for him.
He let out a calming breath before sliding across the wall three feet.
He mentally counted down. Three, two, one… "Now!"
He moved again, heart beating erratically. "Fucking hell this is stressful…"
"Sorry. You got, like, 3 traps left 'til the end, though. You're doing good." He tried an encouraging tone, but found he wasn't very good at it. "Anyways, three more feet and you can walk normally."
He breathed a prayer to the stars as he did as Runner instructed, trusting he wouldn't send him into any traps.
He winced as the blade came way faster than it should've, skimming the Prince's side as he barely scooted past.
